And the Praca da Fruta Square, where a DAILY beautiful farmers' market is held is about a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Paid parking is safe and underground just down the block, and sometimes a lucky "free" street spot would open up near or farther away, but parking and negotiating the narrow streets is probably the biggest challenge (as it is located in "old" Portugal!). There is a grocery store 50 m away (Pingo Doce) and despite all of this, Caldas and this area is fairly quiet at night. We were never bothered by any unnecessary noise. The only other thing to know is that this is on the 4th floor of an old building, so no elevator. We certainly got our steps in and were in better shape when we left! :)"

- "We had a lovely week at Els and Marcel’s apartment which is comprised of a spacious section of their house. The hosts could not have been nicer - they were so friendly and helpful. The apartment is on the ground floor but guests have access to a lovely rooftop terrace which we enjoyed. The countryside is very pretty in this area with loads of birds to watch but it’s also just a short walk into the village where there are cafes and a small market. Altogether a comfortable, peaceful place to stay that’s just a short drive to Caldas da Rainha, the beaches and much more. Highly recommended!"
