The breakfast was simple: bread and a couple jams, two or three pastries, deli ham and cheese, a large bowl of plain yogurt, a couple cereals, a bowl of assorted fruit, one or two juices, and coffee (self-serve coffee/espresso machine). It was fine; simple, but fine. The room was clean and nice, albeit pretty small. No safe and no kettle, hair dryer available to borrow from the front desk. But it was good enough for three nights. The neighbourhood was a little strange, mostly industrial. Public transit didn't seem to be available. Onsite parking was pretty limited; we were always able to get a spot, but we stayed here during the off-season."

The staff certainly know how to run an efficient and comfortable boutique hotel. The provided breakfasts were a great way to start the day and prepare us for lots of sightseeing and walking. The bed was quite comfortable and there was little disturbance from outside traffic. This establishment is within walking distance of the National Palace and plenty of bars, shops , cafes and restaurants. Other areas for sightseeing are just a further 10 to 15 minutes walk further on although there are plenty of transport options also available. Hotel Nova Sintra is just a 10 minute walk either the train station which also makes this location convenient for day trips to Cascais or Lisbon. I can see that the terrace would be put to good use in the warmer months of the year but unfortunately the weather was a little unsettled during our stay. This is our second visit to Sintra. Would we visit again? Definitely - there is still a number of sights and day trips to keep our interest. Where would we stay? The Hotel Nova Sintra again of course. After all we travel for enjoyment and appreciate good service when we experience it."
