- "Lovely hotel with beautiful gardens and top level service " - "The place has a lot of history and the staff is very nice. There were no VIP benefits at all. I don’t think they even knew about Expedia VIP. Breakfast is o.k. Bar service and tapas were very good. pizza o.k, pasta not so much. Because of an AD accommodation the hotel did offer a room in the “main house” however it has step to the bathroom and smelled stale and dusty, and the window was tiny , the room didn’t look inviting at all. The other rooms in the spa area were bigger and clean. It’s a long walk however to get anywhere from that part of the hotel. One minus which the hotel should invest in, Nespresso machines in the rooms! This is the first hotel we’ve stayed that doesn’t have Nespresso machines in the rooms for a morning coffee! (Nescafé with hot water is absolutely not an acceptable alternative) The reception, restaurant and bellboy staff were outstanding! "

The rooftop patio on the 6th floor had a great view. We found parking easy in front of the hotel. Pay attention to the details of how to avoid narrow streets leaving. It involves ringing a button to take an interior street. It’s worth it as the streets will not fit many cars. The restaurant was wonderful. Our waiter, Joel, was fabulous and told us so many cool things about Portuguese food. We will definitely stay here again. "

- "Palace Sao Silvestre is an easy 10min drive from the heart of Coimbra and it was an oasis to return to. This hotel is a very relaxing place to stay. Beautiful pool to cool down in or relax sitting by, picnic next to a vineyard, breakfast in the dining room or out on the patio and bar/dining on site; food & service were great.
