The space
Quinta das Malvas is one of the finest properties in Funchal, and indeed Madeira. Boasting fine views and a luxurious interior this historic house goes back to the 19th century. Recently renovated in 2004 to a high standard, this property, situated within Quinta de Santa Luzia, offers comfort and privacy at very affordable rates.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to explore the surroundings of Quinta de Santa Luzia, (there is a natural entrance from Malvas onto the property), where you can select your own herbs and vegetables, visit the family vineyard and enjoy the spacious surroundings of a traditional working Quinta (farm or estate in Portuguese).

Other things to note
You are welcome to use the kitchen for any meals you wish to prepare. There is a donation box for the basics we supply (teas, coffee, sugar, olive oil etc.). Alternatively you can ask Margarida to prepare a delicious home cooked meal (please give 12 hours notice ) for you.

Our Indian-inspired room, located on the ground floor, is decorated with objects brought back from India during one of our most memorable trips. The room is very spacious and luminous. The unique trait of this room is the private small lounge / living room area where you can relax in all tranquillity.

The space
The house is located in the middle of a typical Madeiran garden and therefore offers a lot of privacy and possibilities: enjoy the beautiful flowers, sit under a tree to read a good book or take a swim in the pool.

After just a 20 minute walk you are standing in the middle of Funchal, surrounded by local shops, markets, bars and restaurants. Madeira is famous for it’s holidays and festivals, there is always something to do!
