Rooms were a good size and bathroom area large, minor issue with glass fronted toilet door, could close but no lock and gaps around door. Not happy that whilst tea and coffee facilities provided, charge of 1 euro for replacement tea bag & coffee tube meant we simply purchased our own at vastly reduced cost at supermarket located next door in shopping centre. Overall had a fantastic stay, didn't have to check out of room until 12pm & allowed to use shower facilities in Spa as weren't leaving hotel until 6pm so enjoyed a great final day around the pool."

- "We really liked this hotel. We arrived before check-in time but our room was ready, clean and comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe space and drawers and lots of clothes hangers which isn't always the case. As we had left home at 3.30am we were ready for an early lunch and although the restaurant didn't open until 12.30 they were happy to serve us something at 12.10. Madeira is very hilly and to go anywhere from the hotel requires a steep climb up to the main road, this wasn't a problem for us, and I suppose one could go through the garden to the sister hotel and get the lift down to sea level. Lots of stairs to go up and down to get to the restaurant or to the hotel pool. We found all the staff to be most friendly and helpful. The pool area and garden were great, plenty of sunbeds in the sun or in the shade. Joe's Bar was great - wonderful cocktails!!"

I would definitely recommend hotel for older or infirm as they seemed very well catered for. The only thing I could fault was the breakfast juice from a machine was awful, more like squash. Our pool is treated with magnesium salt. This is odorless, makes the water crystal clear and gentle on skin and eyes. Nothing better to relax one's muscles after one of the long spectacular walks the island offers.

We have two friendly cats.

Besides their room and dedicated bathroom, guest have access to the pool & garden, the sitting room, the dining area and the pool terrace overlooking the ocean.

We offer a family suite consisting of two double bedrooms. These two bedrooms communicate and share the same bathroom. One of the bedrooms opens towards the swimming pool with sea view, the other faces the mountain. This suite can host from two to four people.

The double beds are very comfortable, the bathroom stylish with high end materials and walk in showers. There is parking space for one car inside our driveway, otherwise one can easily park just outside our gate.

We are in a quiet area in the east of Funchal, a quarter of an hour by car from the airport and the picturesque center of the city. The charming beach of Garajau is 10 minutes away, the golf course of Paleiro five minutes, as is the botanical garden. The most distant place of the island being less than an hour by car, you can easily radiate and discover the whole island from our home. In addition, several buses serving the center of Funchal are available within a 10-minute walk from the house. Otherwise apart from taxis, there is Bolt, the local Uber.
