We dropped our things off in our room and just loved the look of the room and the fact that they had towels available in the room to use for the pools. We had great evening in the lava pools, rooftop pool and heated pool on level -1. We felt extra special and welcomed with a bottle of their blue champagne that was dropped off in our room while we were out. We had lovely massages by Leticia in the morning after a delicious breakfast provided by the hotel. Exceptional stay, thank you for a wonderful time. Wish we could have stayed longer. "

Only thing with the hotel is you must rent a car as it is at least an hour away from the main city of Funchal. The drive though is very picturesque. I loved staying at this place and they put out a decent breakfast. Please be aware though that the reception is usually unmanned and if you are arriving late you must inform them. Don't arrive after 10:00PM as you would not be able to check-in and maybe left stranded. There is no WIFI connection in the rooms which was very annoying. You have to come down to the reception if you wanted to connect to wifi. A short drive from the hotel is Se Vicente and Siexal both nice places to visit. The caves are also close by. These are activities you can do on your own if you have a car."
