If you want to escape from the city and the noise of traffic deep in the heart of nature, Rivendell. Artistic Retreat Centre is for you.Near the Caldera de Taburiente National Park in an Eco farm, the Idyllic house has breathtaking views of the Barranco. It is a perfect place to rest and recharge your batteries in good company, It is ideal for starting hikes and exploring the Caldera de Taburiente. We have our own spring water and a permaculture garden.

The space
With almost no other houses in sight and away from the road, it is extremely peaceful. There are lots of places to relax and enjoy the views and hammocks or spaces for Yoga and meditation. La Palma is a Starlight Reserve and as there are no street lights nearby, the view of the stars in the night sky is awesome. It is an enchanting place for backpackers, adventures and artists. We have alarge water tank in which you can swim in.
The house has a large open plan dormitory with 8 beds over the communal kitchen and bathroom. There may be other guests in the hostel.
Not recommended for small children or people with reduced mobility. The last part of the entrance is very steep and you cannot arrive with a normal car. The carpark is 15 mins walk away and I can collect you from there with my Jeep. It is possible to rent the whole Hostel house and barbecue for a special price to be consulted. Come and begin your adventure in Rivendell.

Guest access
All shared with other guests: Indoor communal kitchen, Outdoor communal kitchen, Outdoor covered communal barbeque or workspace, Living room, Balcony, Terrace, Communal Bathroom, Outdoor Compost Toilet, Permaculture Garden, Sun Beds. Open air shower! There is an outdoor Balinese style fourposter doublebed with curtains and mosquito nets, where you can chose to sleep under a blanket of shooting stars and a few ordinary blankets too (Weather permitting). There is also a huge tank of fresh mountain water in which you can swim.

Other things to note
At Rivendell Artistic Retreat Center, there are cats and dogs. We wish to warn of this situation for people that suffer from allergies or inconveniences due to this fact.
Access by car may be restricted in extreme weather conditions. If there has been a big storm and the river is flooded we have to walk to the carpark using over a bridge. However this is a very rare occurrence, it is always advisable to check the weather forecasts before embarking on any excursions or making travel arrangements.
