This traditional Quinta, built in 1871, was restored from ruin

Funchal centre and harbor is 3km (20 minutes walk downhill to Funchal (centre) but there is a regular bus service and the bus stop is just a few metres from the house.

To secure your reservation we require a 30% deposit, or the full amount if you are arriving within 8 weeks. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
A security deposit of 250€ is required, payable in cash on arrival.

Check-in times - at the property - are between 16H00 and 19H00. For Sunday arrivals and out of hours check-in, alternative arrangements will be made and an additional cost will apply.

Turn left at the traffic lights, keeping to your right, and after just a few meters turn right to “Funchal Pena”

The fourth bedroom has two single beds, a window opening out to the rear of the house. Next to the two single bedrooms there is one common bathroom with a small bathtub suitable for children that is also an ordinary shower. The living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom are located downstairs. The living room comes with several comfortable sofas and chairs and a flat-screen satellite TV and a DVD player. It opens out onto the terrace with sun loungers and parasols. The bright dining room has a wood table in the center for up to 12 guests (including two infants) and it's adjacent to the kitchen for convenience in serving. It opens out onto the barbecue area and the outdoor dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all the necessary paraphernalia and electric equipment enabling our guests to cook great meals.

There is also an in-house laundry with washing machine and ironing facilities.

The house is located in a quiet residential area of Funchal, close enough to exploit downtown appeal and far enough to save you from noise, cars and pollution. Every weekday, around 8.30/8. 45 a.m the bakery car with fresh bread and simple bakery cakes passes by and snoozes (just be at gate and they will stop at your hand call).

To comply with local regulations, we are implementing the recently introduced Tourist Tax (Municipality of Funchal - Regulation No. 764/2024).
Starting October 1, 2024, local accommodations in Funchal will charge a fee of €2 per person, per night, for up to 7 nights. Children up to and including 12 years old are exempt. The property owner is responsible for collecting and remitting this fee to the Municipality of Funchal.

Check-in times - at the property - are between 16H00 and 19H00. For Sunday arrivals and out of hours check-in, alternative arrangements will be made and an additional cost will apply.
Check-in and check-out flexibility will be applied where possible, but this will depend on housekeeping schedules and the departure and arrival days of other reservations either side of your stay; a definitive answer can only be provided within 24 hours of your arrival for check-in and your departure for check-out.

If you have a car and are driving to your villa or apartment, please follow these instructions. Using GPS will take you via old and less easy roads and unusual locations:
Leaving the airport take the dual carriageway in the direction of Funchal (road known as the Via Rápida).
Leave the Via Rápida at exit number 9 to Camo do Pilar/P. de Barcelos

Turn right up the hill and when you reach the roundabout take the first exit. This road iscalled Estrada Comandante Camacho de Freitas.
Take the second turning on your right into Rua Encosta Pico dos Barcelos.

Modern style house with one floor recently renovated, with good indoor and outdoor areas located in a quiet area.
Modern furniture, with design but at the same time practical and comfortable. New fully equipped kitchen with fridge and freezer, oven and ceramic hob, washing machine and dishwasher, nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, juicer and hand blender.
Modern, spacious and very comfortable rooms, all with private bathrooms and independent sound systems in the rooms and bathrooms. It has a hair dryer with thermo protect ionic system in all bathrooms. In any of the rooms we can change the configuration from a double bed to two single beds. We have cots for babies. Children are welcome.
There is a bus stop next to the door, served by n. 24 and 83. We have space for 3 cars in the yard and one more in the covered garage. It is possible to charge an electric or hybrid car in the garage free of charge!
The city center is 5 minutes by car and 30 minutes on foot. The historic center and the Main Market is 40 minutes and walk.
There are many restaurants, bars and pastry shops nearby, the nearest ones being less than a km away. The Casino is less than 2 km away.
