In addition, a large garden ensures afternoons or evenings outdoors without having to leave the house.
For those who love the lake, for those who enjoy walking in the hills or hiking in the mountains, the area where I live is the ideal: there are lakeside villages where you can discover our beautiful lake or beautiful landscapes that can be admired from the hills and adjacent mountains. Mandello del Lario then, is an unavoidable stop for motorcycle enthusiasts because it is the headquarters of the famous MOTO GUZZI factory. Varenna (7 minutes by road) and Bellagio (20 minutes) are beautiful surroundings. At 25 km you can find Colico (crossroads for Valtellina), Valchiavenna (towards Switzerland) and the opposite side of the lake (Lugano). In short, they are places to visit and discover in person!

My B&B that i’m going to briefly describe is located in a quiet area in a beautiful lakeside town named Olcio that, in ancient times, it was called Olcium and even before Olium because of the large-scale production of oil: the presence of many olive trees in the fields above the town is still real. Olcio is a small fraction of Mandello del Lario and it is located between lake and mountain, with the possibility of walking and swimming in the lake (about 150 meters).
The detached house, brightly colored both inside and outside, offers guests the possibility of peace that is not easy to find. The flower garden is formed by a green area and another tiled area.
The rooms have a wonderful lake view and a good breakfast, prepared in the garden or in the large living room, gives the right gear for the day.
Two public car parks, not far from the house, offer the possibility of being able to park easily instead the garage is used only for motorcycles and bicycles.


The rest must be discovered coming to visit me.

situated on a peninsula is dominated from behind walls and towers of Grigna. It 'a tourist place with very good climate, full of walks and climbs of all lengths and difficulty.

A local history corner.

At the ground floor of the house there is what remains of the workshop of the B&B owner’s granduncle, Giorgio Ripamonti called “Ferée” (Blacksmith in lombard dialect); the young Carlo Guzzi, passionate about mechanics and engines, often came in this workshop at the beginning of ‘900 and, after the 1st World War, in 1919, he designed a motorcycle prototype realising his dream with the help of granduncle Giorgio. Two years later, in March 1921, with his friend and partner Giorgio Parodi, Carlo Guzzi founded the Limited Company Moto Guzzi.
A plaque commemorating this story has been placed by the Association “Municipal Archive for Local Memory”. It has been so decided to keep and restructure this semi-detached workshop realizing a small museum
