Was initially a little nervous about parking as we were arriving quite late but the hosts, Francesco and Sara, were amongst the most hospitable we’re ever had - they were in touch before our stay and personally met us on arrival to guide us to a (free of charge) parking spot, carry our luggage, and show us to the room. They have two rooms both of which step out directly onto a very quiet street and are set up beautifully. They even provided us with a welcome snack style dinner of charcuterie, cheese and a bottle of wine and personally booked us a table at a local restaurant. Breakfast was brought directly to our room - fresh coffee, croissants etc. I perhaps wouldn’t choose to stay here more than a few nights as there isn’t any outdoor space/ anything aside from the room and private bathroom but as a stop for a night or two it’s faultless. From all the little design touches to the gorgeous breakfast spread, the sweetest dogs and little cat, and the pool area - everything was perfect! I especially loved the bathrooms which were gorgeously decorated, filled with local organic products and a great shower. The bed was super comfortable too - and each of the rooms have their own little patio area with a comfy area and a table. The staff were lovely and made my visit extra special, arranging a massage for the day of my arrival, a horse ride in the countryside nearby, wine tasting and transfers to and from Martina Franca! Nestled in the countryside amongst olive trees, Guesthouse Serenità (Serenity) is ideally situated in the Valle d'Itria between Ceglie Messapica and Villa Castelli. It is the perfect base from which to explore all that beautiful Puglia has to offer. The recently restored guesthouse sleeps 4 and is fully equipped with a large private bathroom, kitchen, lounge and outdoor covered terrace. The relaxing pool area is a guest favourite.

The space
Guesthouse Serenità is located in a separate building at the rear of this 3 acre property and comprises 32 square metres internally. It is accessed via the private driveway and there is space to park in front of the large covered terrace at the private entrance to the guesthouse. The large covered terrace (36 square metres) offers plenty of shade with a table and chairs catering for 6 people to dine al fresco as well as a hammock and hanging Balinese chair. You will also find the ping pong table here. Situated at the far end of the building is a separate pizza oven room.

You enter the Guesthouse studio into the main living area containing the fully equipped kitchen to the right, which is fitted with stove, oven, coffee maker, sink, full sized refrigerator with separate freezer and everything you need to prepare delicious meals for your group. To the left you will find a comfortable lounge area complete with lounge chair, bean bags, TV, DVD player and a selection of books, DVD movies, CD’s and board games.

Behind the living area you will find yourself in the sleeping area, with one queen bed and a set of 2 single bunk beds. At the back of the studio, there is a large private bathroom (accessed via a sliding door) containing a large shower, toilet, bidet, bathroom vanity with sink and lots of room for storage, including a clothes hanging rack with hangers. This room is also equipped with a washing machine, iron and ironing board for your convenience.

To the side of the guesthouse you will find a spacious private relaxation area nestled under lovely olive trees complete with hammock, outdoor furniture and your own outdoor shower.

The guesthouse front bifold doors allow you to leave the studio open during the day to fill it with fresh air and make it and the adjoining covered terrace feel like one very large living space. There are 2 large screened windows on either side of the sleeping area of the guesthouse and another large screened window in the separate bathroom. Given that the guesthouse is nestled amongst olive trees and backs onto a private forest, it is usually a very ambient and comfortable temperature, plus offers complete peace and privacy. Portable fans are available, as well as a bug zapper. We recommend that you keep the front door closed between dusk and dawn to avoid insects joining you inside.

A highlight of the property and favourite for guests is the large tranquil outdoor pool area comprising of the 6 x 4 m pool (at least 1 metre deep) and adjacent relaxation area complete with comfortable outdoor furniture set under the shade of large olive trees, hammock, hanging Balinese chair, sunbeds and a shaded outdoor kitchen and dining area complete with barbecue where you can grill your favourite Apulian speciality foods and enjoy them al fresco with your family and friends. The pool and relaxation areas are for the exclusive use of guests of Trullo Serenità Retreat (includes Trullo Serenità for 2 and Guesthouse Serenità for 4). The property is complete with ping pong table, badminton and many other outdoor and indoor games for the more active guests.

All bed linen, bath towels and Turkish hammam towels (thin beach towels that can double as a sarong) are provided as well as hand soap, shower gel and other toiletries.

Free Wifi is available throughout the property including inside the guesthouse, on the adjoining covered terrace and in the outdoor pool and relaxation areas. Mobile phone reception is very limited due to the property’s location in the countryside.

We are close to all the villages of the Valle d'Itria and surrounding area including Ostuni, Alberobello, Cisternino, Locorotondo, Ceglie Messapica, Grottaglie, Carovigno, etc. We are only a one hour drive from Lecce and surrounding beaches and towns such as Otranto, Porto Cesareo and Torre Lapillo. It is only about a 30 minute drive to beaches such as Santa Sabina and Torre Canne. It is also possible to visit Monopoli and Polignano a Mare from the property, within about a 1 hour drive.

Guest access
Guesthouse Serenità is exclusively for the use of guests and contains a private entrance from the covered terrace area. It is located in a separate building at the rear of this 3 acre property and comprises 32 square metres internally. It is accessed via the private driveway and there is plenty of space to park in front of the entrance for free.

Guesthouse Serenità is nestled in the peaceful countryside yet is only a 10 minute drive from 3 popular towns (Ceglie Messapica, Villa Castelli, Martina Franca) which have all amenities including supermarkets, good restaurants and bars, pharmacies, bakeries, etc.

The property contains many outdoor areas, some shaded, which can be used by guests to relax amongst nature. The tranquil pool and adjacent relaxation area awaits, complete with pergola, outdoor kitchen and dining area. Comfortable outdoor furniture, sunbeds, hammocks and hanging Balinese chair are provided for guests to use, as well as a ping pong table.

The hosts live onsite in a separate house and are available to assist guests with recommendations and any other needs, whilst respecting the privacy of guests.

Other things to note
We are not able to accept pets in the guesthouse or on the property. There is one queen bed for a maximum of 2 adults, plus 2 single bunk beds for a maximum of 4 guests to stay. Smoking (including vaping) is permitted in outside areas only and the provided ashtrays and rubbish bins must be used. Water is supplied from a well and the hosts request guests to conserve water where possible.

BREAKFAST - delicious continental breakfast supplies are provided upon arrival, together with drinking water, to help guests settle in.

NO HIDDEN FEES - We do not charge a separate cleaning fee, it is included in the price you pay. We also provide fresh towels for stays of 5 nights or longer, or upon request. Bed linens are changed once per week for stays of more than 7 nights, at no additional cost.

Please note that the owners of the property live in a separate house adjacent to the trullo. No extra guests or visitors are permitted on the property without the prior permission of the owners.
