Bathroom needs refurbishing. " - "This masseria has beautiful grounds, with plants and green everywhere. The swimming pool area is beautiful and spacious. The pool is large and ideal for kids, as half of it is less than 1metre deep. Plenty of chairs in the sun or shaded area. You can order food by the pool and the menu is very reasonably priced. My daughter had a very good burger for €6 (I think). The restaurant is quite good and very well served with large portions, this was the case for the meat and the fritura fruto di mari mista. The breakfast is plenty with cold cut meats, excellent bread, several cakes, cooked egg, fruits, yoghurt, cappuccino and much more. The staff at the breakfast and dinner are very kind and helpful. The only negative is that the check-in is cold and formal, which is unlike to many places we’ve stayed at. The room is basic but large with a king bed. My 6 year-old daughter slept with us and there was no extra charge, which was great. The WiFi in the room didn’t work well, but it worked well in the swimming pool. I would definitely come back!"

Was initially a little nervous about parking as we were arriving quite late but the hosts, Francesco and Sara, were amongst the most hospitable we’re ever had - they were in touch before our stay and personally met us on arrival to guide us to a (free of charge) parking spot, carry our luggage, and show us to the room. They have two rooms both of which step out directly onto a very quiet street and are set up beautifully. Amazing property with two houses and extra-large private pool. Peaceful Location in the idyllic Itria Valley in the heart of Puglia, 30 Minutes Drive to the coast: This is a wonderful place all year round which offers lots of things to do. Ideal for two or three families or a group of friends. The two houses are detached and completely self-sufficient, yet within close reach of one another. Large garden with lawn and 10 x 10 mt-pool with generous surrounding area and dining table. There is also a large dining table by the pool which is shared. Each house has its own outside dining area and barbecue. We are confident we can recommend this property to anyone, including families with small children (our own kids grew up here). The property is a tranquil, safe and child-friendly environment, the pool is protected by a fence. The garden has a great variety of fruit and olive trees, some hundreds of years old. The whole plot measures about one hectare. There are many attractions in the area: Lots of little towns with wonderful historical centres, Unesco heritage sites like Alberobello (just 15 minutes by car) and Matera, Lecce with its amazing baroque, lots of beaches on both coasts, countless typical restaurants for all budgets...Upon arrival you will find your complimentary Welcome Kit with useful information about the area, such as restaurants, places to see, things to do etc. We have spent so much time exploring this enchanting area and love sharing our findings and insight with our guests. It is our absolute priority to make out guests' vacation here a truly special one. The houses are self-catering and accepting our guests' privacy is paramount. Trullo Lina is in an idyllic rural setting only 3k m from the centre of Alberobello, and within a 20-minute drive to Martina Franca and Locorotondo. Standing at the end of a private track, 300 metres from the public tarmacked lane, it is a haven of tranquility. Silence is only broken by bird song from the neighbouring wood and occasional tractors ploughing the land. It is the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday, away from the stresses of modern life.

Stylishly and sympathetically restored, the trullo lies within 2 hectares of olive groves, and has extensive stone terraces (600 sqm) all around with a stunning circular pool to the rear (10 metres in diametre). There are pretty shrub gardens to the front and back of the house.

Dating from the late 18th century, Trullo Lina was purchased in Spring 2013 having been abandoned for many years. Restoration was carried out by local stone masons and craftsmen using century-old skills The 'modern' extension, added during the 1950s, was demolished and rebuilt. Every effort has been made to adhere to traditional design, materials and colours without compromising on modern comforts.

Trulli have thick stone walls and conical stone roofs to keep the interior cool in summer and warm in winter. In keeping with this design, the newly-built part has thick tufo stone walls lined with white stucco on the inside, and stone vaulted ceilings All the windows and doors have been crafted by a local carpenter. They are double glazed with internal panelled shutters to keep the house cosy in winter. Traditional iron grills have been fitted to the external doors and windows. Much thought has been put into equipping the trullo as a home not just a holiday rental. All the fixtures and fittings are of a high standard, and furniture has been chosen in keeping with the style of a typical trullo, whilst also providing sufficient drawers and hanging space for guests.

Trullo Lina sleeps 8 people comfortably (or up to 10 if including small children, making use of the sofa-bed and/or cot for an infant). There are 4 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a sitting room with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a large dining room. There is central heating for the winter months.

BEDROOMS
Two of the bedrooms have double beds with bedside cabinets, drawers and hanging space. The other two bedrooms each have 2 x single beds and are furnished with bedside cabinets, drawers and hanging space.

The BATHROOMS are lined with local marble, and each has a walk-in shower, large sink with mirrored cabinet, toilet and bidet.

The KITCHEN is located in one of the original 19th century cones but has all the luxuries of a 21st century kitchen; stone work surfaces, hand-built cupboards, fan-assisted electric oven, large 6-ring gas hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. There are ample pans and utensils, crockery, cutlery, wine glasses and tumblers to cater for 10 guests.

The DINING ROOM is spacious, light and airy with stone vaulted ceilings and French windows to the front and rear terraces. It therefore has views over the extensive undulating land to the front and the swimming pool at the back. There is a large dining table and chairs, seating 8 adults comfortably, and 10 at a squeeze.

The main entrance leads into the THE SITTING ROOM which is situated in the largest, highest cone, and has beautifully restored stone walls, wood beams and lots of nooks and crannies typical of trulli. From the door and window there are far-reaching views across the front terrace to the olive grove beyond. In the summer it stays cool, and is a welcome retreat from the hot Puglian sun. In the winter it is cosy and warm, with a log fire. There is WI-FI, a TV, a bluitooth speaker and a selection of books and DVDs for guests to enjoy.

To the exterior of the trullo are over 600 square metres of TERRACES laid with local stone and leading to the large circular SWIMMING POOL (with external shower). There is ample space around the pool for sunbathing on the sunbeds and deckchairs and there are 2 shaded areas. There is a gazbo attached to the trullo with a large dining table and chairs.

This spacious stunning terrace at the front of the house, looks out across the land and olive grove, and has a hand-crafted wrought iron gazebo to provide shade at lunchtime. After a day round the pool, this terrace is perfect for aperitifs and sunset dinners. There is a large square table seating 10-12 people.

Attached to the front of the trullo is a gazebo with an L shaped seating area - a shaded area to sit and relax with a book or aperitif.

There is a wide selection of restaurants in Alberobello and the neighbouring towns serving the renowned Puglian specialities. Whilst there is little reason to move from the pool, apart from to buy supplies, the blue flag beaches and crystal clear water of Monopoli and Savelletri on the Adriatic Sea are within a 30 minute drive whilst the long sandy beaches of the Ionian Sea are within an hour's drive away.

- "We spent too nights at Elisabetta's villa and it wasn't long enough! We loved the pool area and used the barbeque and outdoor seating one evening. Elisabetta was very helpful in advice on where to shop, eat and explore. We spent one evening in Martina Franco in the old square for dinner which was worth a visit, with great food and a buzzy atmosphere. The kids(23 and 21) slept in the twin bedded room and just fit into the beds, but my son is 6ft 3 so worth mentioning as the photo makes them look small. They are suited more for younger kids but it worked no problem. Elisabetta was also very helpful when I left a small item behind and letting me know so we could arrange a collection. Puglia is beautiful and worth a visit and staying here was perfect."

Trullo Fumarola is a wonderful place all year round which offers lots of things to do for the whole family. The pool (10 x 10 meters) is open from mid-April through October. The central garden and pool area are shared with the other house on the plot (a recently built Villa which sleeps 6-8 people). Garden, pool and pool area (with large shaded dining area) are very generously sized, in order to offer enough space to each party, in case both houses are occupied. The Trullo has its own outside dining area, BBQ and own outside space. We are confident we can recommend this property to anyone, including families with small children (our own kids grew up here). The property is a tranquil, safe and child-friendly environment, the pool is protected by a fence. The garden has a great variety of fruit and olive trees, some hundreds of years old.
The Trullo, built around 1820 by our ancestors, has been completely restored to the highest standard whilst keeping the original features, such as the floor made of ancient lime stone and the exposed arches. Unlike many Trulli it is very light and spacious. It has its own outside dining area, limestone-courtyard and private garden area with pine trees.

We had particularly wanted to stay near Martina Franca, where we had been before and loved, and this house turned out to be the perfect property in an ideal location for not only Martina F, but also the various other places nearby we wanted to visit. Villa Valeria is a fabulous five bedroom luxury villa in town, where period charm meets modern comforts for a relaxing stay. This magnificent property has a large private 15m x 7m pool with enormous gardens and yet is in town where shops, restaurants and bars are found almost at your doorstep. Sleeps up to 11 plus 2 babies up to 2 years old.

Arriving at this period villa will be like stepping into a fairy tale. Renovated to the highest standards this stunning villa consists of a sitting room, dining room, turret breakfast room, kitchen and two double bedrooms on the ground floor and a reception room with huge balcony, three double bedrooms and two bathrooms on the upper floor. There is also a small hallway with a staircase leading to the top of the turret for great views of the town and Valle d'Itria.

GROUND FLOOR
Lounge: The airy lounge is tastefully furnished with a comfortable sofas, coffee table, TV cabinet and flat screen TV and has doors leading directly to the large raised veranda which has outdoor tables and easy seating and facing the pool.

Dining Room: This large L shaped room has two large windows and a door leading to the garden. The cherrywood furniture comprises two matching dining room tables seating up to 10, two large cherrywood dressers and low wall units, and a piano.

The pool measures approximately 15m x 7m and is 1.5m at the shallow end and 2.3m at the deep end. Next to the pool is a pool shower and changing rooms.

Terrace and Veranda: Relax under the shade of the huge veranda that runs on two sides of the villa, or on the large terrace on the upper floor where there are plenty of outdoor seating and occasional tables for your comfort.

The property is surrounded by large manicured gardens and tall mature trees disguising the fact that it is located close to the centre of town. Stroll in the gardens taking in the scents of the flowers and over to the hard court area where you can play ball game such as badminton, tennis, football, etc. The property also has a table tennis table for guest use.

There is space for 4 cars next to the villa and a further parking area inside the entrance gate.

Less than 30 days notice having paid in full - no refund unless the dates have been resold less an admin fee of £250

COVID-19 CANCELLATION POLICY
Should local legislation, either in Italy or your home country, prevent you from travelling because of COVID-19, the cancellation policy for this would be:
50% cash refund, or
100% transfer of the money received against a stay at the property on an alternative date and for the same number of nights.

It would be difficult to overstate the quality and scale of this villa. It truly is a castle. The pictures can’t capture the spaciousness of the interior, e.g. the height of the ceilings. We typically explored Puglia during the day returning to cool off in the pool in the late afternoon and cooking at home most evenings. The kitchen is more well equipped than any of the other seven rentals we’ve visited over the years. It’s a nice bonus to have the second fridge! As noted in the property description there is no AC for the ground floor bedrooms so that would be a nice addition if a proper solution presents itself. Location was nice for short walks to village facilities and we easily visited Alberobello, Monopoli, Torre Canne, Polignano, Ostuni, etc. Jackie was very helpful and readily available. We appreciated her helpful hints and professionalism. Giuseppe keeps the property looking great and was always busy but never intrusive. All in all, a fabulous stay! Thank you."

Casa del Cavaliere is set in a large garden with olive and fig trees, in the middle of the most beautiful country side near Martina Franca. The house is spacious, with three luxurious large bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom. Each bedroom has a double bed as well as a sleeping sofa. The shaded terrace is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your al fresco dinner or aperitivo. Lots of beautiful sights well worth a visit are within easy reach. Unesco World Heritage Site Alberobello is less then ten minutes by car. So is Locorotondo which holds the official title "one of Italy's most beautiful villages". And many more little towns with pretty historical town centers (Cisternino, Ostuni, Ceglie Messapica to name just a few). Within about an hour by car you can reach Lecce, famous for its baroque, as well as wonderful Matera, another Unesco World Heritage site and location for many movies, such as Mel Gibson's "Passion of Christ". Countless beaches on both coasts (adriatic and ionian); the nearest ones can be reached in less than 30 minutes by car. And of course the food...Puglia is famous for its regional specialities, both meat and seafood and offers a great amount of restaurants and trattorias for all budgets.

- "The property was about a 10 minute drive from the town of Martina Franca. It consisted of two separate properties which shared the pool. We had the larger of the houses, there were three double rooms, all with their own bathrooms, and they also had settees. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, plates etc. Towels were provided. A booklet was provided with information on restaurants, beaches and places to visit. Ina was so helpful; she rang and booked a restaurant for us as well as a taxi for an evening out. The houses were out-of-town and so it was very peaceful and relaxing for us."
