Trullo Martinese is a beautifully restored trullo previously lived in permanently by the owners as their family home and now offered for holiday rental. The spacious and homely accommodation features many original stone features throughout and comprises of a living area and open plan kitchen/dining area, large 25sqm main bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room, twin bedroom (can be made up as a double on request), main bathroom and utility room with washing machine. Trullo Lina is in an idyllic rural setting only 3k m from the centre of Alberobello, and within a 20-minute drive to Martina Franca and Locorotondo. Standing at the end of a private track, 300 metres from the public tarmacked lane, it is a haven of tranquility. Silence is only broken by bird song from the neighbouring wood and occasional tractors ploughing the land. It is the perfect destination for a relaxing holiday, away from the stresses of modern life.

Stylishly and sympathetically restored, the trullo lies within 2 hectares of olive groves, and has extensive stone terraces (600 sqm) all around with a stunning circular pool to the rear (10 metres in diametre). There are pretty shrub gardens to the front and back of the house.

Dating from the late 18th century, Trullo Lina was purchased in Spring 2013 having been abandoned for many years. Restoration was carried out by local stone masons and craftsmen using century-old skills The 'modern' extension, added during the 1950s, was demolished and rebuilt. Every effort has been made to adhere to traditional design, materials and colours without compromising on modern comforts.

Trulli have thick stone walls and conical stone roofs to keep the interior cool in summer and warm in winter. In keeping with this design, the newly-built part has thick tufo stone walls lined with white stucco on the inside, and stone vaulted ceilings All the windows and doors have been crafted by a local carpenter. They are double glazed with internal panelled shutters to keep the house cosy in winter. Traditional iron grills have been fitted to the external doors and windows. Much thought has been put into equipping the trullo as a home not just a holiday rental. All the fixtures and fittings are of a high standard, and furniture has been chosen in keeping with the style of a typical trullo, whilst also providing sufficient drawers and hanging space for guests.

Trullo Lina sleeps 8 people comfortably (or up to 10 if including small children, making use of the sofa-bed and/or cot for an infant). There are 4 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a sitting room with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and a large dining room. There is central heating for the winter months.

BEDROOMS
Two of the bedrooms have double beds with bedside cabinets, drawers and hanging space. The other two bedrooms each have 2 x single beds and are furnished with bedside cabinets, drawers and hanging space.

The BATHROOMS are lined with local marble, and each has a walk-in shower, large sink with mirrored cabinet, toilet and bidet.

The KITCHEN is located in one of the original 19th century cones but has all the luxuries of a 21st century kitchen; stone work surfaces, hand-built cupboards, fan-assisted electric oven, large 6-ring gas hob, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, toaster and kettle. There are ample pans and utensils, crockery, cutlery, wine glasses and tumblers to cater for 10 guests.

The DINING ROOM is spacious, light and airy with stone vaulted ceilings and French windows to the front and rear terraces. It therefore has views over the extensive undulating land to the front and the swimming pool at the back. There is a large dining table and chairs, seating 8 adults comfortably, and 10 at a squeeze.

The main entrance leads into the THE SITTING ROOM which is situated in the largest, highest cone, and has beautifully restored stone walls, wood beams and lots of nooks and crannies typical of trulli. From the door and window there are far-reaching views across the front terrace to the olive grove beyond. In the summer it stays cool, and is a welcome retreat from the hot Puglian sun. In the winter it is cosy and warm, with a log fire. There is WI-FI, a TV, a bluitooth speaker and a selection of books and DVDs for guests to enjoy.

To the exterior of the trullo are over 600 square metres of TERRACES laid with local stone and leading to the large circular SWIMMING POOL (with external shower). There is ample space around the pool for sunbathing on the sunbeds and deckchairs and there are 2 shaded areas. There is a gazbo attached to the trullo with a large dining table and chairs.

This spacious stunning terrace at the front of the house, looks out across the land and olive grove, and has a hand-crafted wrought iron gazebo to provide shade at lunchtime. After a day round the pool, this terrace is perfect for aperitifs and sunset dinners. There is a large square table seating 10-12 people.

Attached to the front of the trullo is a gazebo with an L shaped seating area - a shaded area to sit and relax with a book or aperitif.

There is a wide selection of restaurants in Alberobello and the neighbouring towns serving the renowned Puglian specialities. Whilst there is little reason to move from the pool, apart from to buy supplies, the blue flag beaches and crystal clear water of Monopoli and Savelletri on the Adriatic Sea are within a 30 minute drive whilst the long sandy beaches of the Ionian Sea are within an hour's drive away.

Al Fresco Dining: Overlooking the pool from the courtyard area is the large covered al fresco dining area. A stone table which seats up to six people is perfect for enjoying all the delicious food found in Puglia. Nearby is the BBQ, preparation area, sink, storage cupboards, lighting and a USB charging socket for your electronic devices. Wifi is also available outside

The whole courtyard is tastefully lit so al-fresco dining can be had at any time of the day.

Pool Area: This quiet and private area has a free form, 7m x 4m pool, perfect for cooling off. It is entered by using the ladder and has a all over depth of 1.2m. Why not relax on one of the sun loungers and enjoy the view of the land. There is also an outdoor pool shower in this area.

Games Court: Outside the walled area there is a large fenced, hard court (25m x 6.5 m) with a basket ball hoop, and where you can also play football, tennis, badminton, etc. This can also be lit at night.

Outdoor table tennis: enjoy a game of ping pong which is fully shaded for added comfort.

Land: The trullo also has a small amount of land on which you can find various fruit trees and is perfect for children to run around on.

Trullo Fumarola is a wonderful place all year round which offers lots of things to do for the whole family. The pool (10 x 10 meters) is open from mid-April through October. The central garden and pool area are shared with the other house on the plot (a recently built Villa which sleeps 6-8 people). Garden, pool and pool area (with large shaded dining area) are very generously sized, in order to offer enough space to each party, in case both houses are occupied. The Trullo has its own outside dining area, BBQ and own outside space. We are confident we can recommend this property to anyone, including families with small children (our own kids grew up here). The property is a tranquil, safe and child-friendly environment, the pool is protected by a fence. The garden has a great variety of fruit and olive trees, some hundreds of years old.
The Trullo, built around 1820 by our ancestors, has been completely restored to the highest standard whilst keeping the original features, such as the floor made of ancient lime stone and the exposed arches. Unlike many Trulli it is very light and spacious. It has its own outside dining area, limestone-courtyard and private garden area with pine trees.
There are many attractions in the area: Lots of little towns with wonderful historical centers, Unesco heritage sites like Alberobello (just 15 minutes by car) and Matera, Lecce with its amazing baroque, lots of beaches on both coasts, countless typical restaurants for all budgets...Upon arrival you will find your complimentary Welcome Kit with useful information about the area, such as restaurants, places to see, things to do etc.

It would be difficult to overstate the quality and scale of this villa. It truly is a castle. The pictures can’t capture the spaciousness of the interior, e.g. the height of the ceilings. There is only one other building (another trullo) visible from the front and only trees and countryside from the back (where the pool is located). Trulli Altura is a complex of typical cones and lamia with beautiful views over a quiet valley in the Apulian countryside. The house is only a 5-minute drive from Alberobello and can accommodate up to 9 guests. A dry stone wall surrounds the entire property, which has private parking. The house is divided into two parts that are not directly linked,but both equipped with every comfort. Arriving at the front of the house, there is a large patio with a wooden table and chairs, from every point on the front of the house you can admire the wonderful view of the valley thanks to its predominant position at the top of the hill. Accessing the first 'part' of the trullo is the kitchen with high stone vaults, equipped with an oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher and small appliances, as well as a large table and chairs. A door to the left gives access to the first bedroom with a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. A hallway leads to the second bathroom with shower and to the other two bedrooms: one with a double bed (and the possibility of becoming a twin) the third bedroom has a single bed.
Stepping out, and passing under the large patio, a few stone steps lead to the second half of the house, this one featuring a comfortable living room with sofas and TV. The entire furnishings respect the tones of the countryside surrounding the house, ranging from sage green to beige. In the same room is a small kitchen, equipped with a microwave oven,hob, dishwasher and mini fridge. A comfortable peninsula tablewith stools is framed within a trullo. From here a corridor leads to the large bathroom with shower serving the house, and to the two bedrooms: one with a double bed and the second with two single beds.
The swimming pool (10x5 m) also enjoys a splendid view of the valley, and has a solarium area with sun loungers, and two patios with sofas and seating to enjoy maximum relaxation.
Despite the presence of Wi-Fi, the connection, as it is not fibre-optic, will be slower than with urban networks.



The nearest town is Alberobello, which is only 5 minutes away by car. Here you will find large supermarkets, pharmacies, but above all a world-famous historic centre, rich in history and typical restaurants with excellent local cuisine. Not far away are other places of interest such as Martina Franca, Locorotondo,Castellana Grotte, Monopoli, Ostuni, Polignano a mare and much more. The famous town of Matera is an hour's drive from the Trulli.
