The ideal place to reach the most characteristic Apulian villages, enjoying the tranquility of the wonderful countryside of Puglia. The villa has been completely renovated with passion and attention to the maximum comfort of the guests. About 100 square meters consists of kitchen, living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other with a double bed and 2 single beds, or 4 singles). Villa Castalia is a splendid and luminous two-story villa situated in a quiet location, surrounded by a wonderful garden. It sleeps 12 people. It is approximately 130 square meters (1400 square feet). It features a shared swimming pool, a spacious private terrace, a shared patio, a shared garden, air conditioning (please read description below to check in which rooms the units are installed), winter heating and WI-FI Internet access.
You will be roughly 4 km (2.5 miles) from Fasano, where you will find restaurants, shops and public transportation. You will find a grocery store at 1.5 km (roughly 1 mile) and the closest beach (Spiaggia di Savelletri) at 7 km (roughly 4.3 miles). You will reach Villa Castalia from the parking area along a short walkway that cuts through the garden and has no stairway steps.
To stay at Villa Castalia you will need a car. You will be able to park it on the premises, free of charge inside the entrance gate.

Interior Description
When you arrive at the historic villa for rent, Masseria Tufo Bianco, after crossing the short country road, lined with dry stone walls and olive trees, you will find yourself in front of the electric gate. You can choose to park the car in the large dirt area or bring it to the access at the back to conveniently store your suitcases.
Characteristic is the white lime of the external walls and the white "Tufo" from which the historic villa takes its name.

The main entrance will take you into the living area, consisting of a large living room with a relaxation corner, a TV room, and two fireplaces. A little further on, on the left, you will find the large kitchen complete with a hob with five gas burners, the extractor hood, the oven, the sink, the large fridge with freezer, the coffee machine, the microwave, the blender, the crockery and cutlery, the dining table that can accommodate up to 12 diners and a small closet. From the kitchen, you can access the garden and swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests.

To access the sleeping area, you will have to return to the living room, from there you will find two bedrooms in the corridor on the right and the corridor on the left the remaining three bedrooms. All bedrooms have additional independent access from the outside and covered verandas furnished with chairs and tables.

The first room, which you will find on the left, is a room with a star ceiling. A suite with a double bed with two bedside tables with light points on either side, a small desk, a courtesy chair, and a bathroom connected to it. On the main wall of the nice metal graphics, the wooden wardrobe, and the double door French window with access to the outside. The ensuite bathroom, with a window, consists of a sink with a mirror, a toilet, a bidet, and a large shower with a checkerboard wall.

Again from the living room, we go to the kitchen where there are the service bathroom and laundry with a washing machine. Further along the corridor on the right, you will find the fourth bedroom with a double bed with two bedside tables with light points on the sides and a complete bathroom connected.

Continuing on you will finally find the fifth bedroom with a double bed with two bedside tables and light points and the bathroom complete with a large shower, sink with a mirror, toilet, bidet, and access to the outside thanks to the French door.

Exterior Description

You will be able to access the garden and the pool area, both from the kitchen and from the living room. Under a large veranda, covered with the characteristic reeds, you will find the dining table and various relaxation corners furnished with comfortable seats and sofas, such as the orange grove with umbrellas.

A short distance from the pool, you will find the outdoor bathrooms with showers.

Behind the pool, there is a large wood-burning oven for professional use to accommodate the best pizza chefs at home and, an additional covered veranda closed with windows.

On request, for events and ceremonies, at an additional cost, it is possible to use the industrial kitchen for home chefs or/and for birthdays and small weddings.

- "This little house was a great spot for my two daughters (21 & 19) and I to relax and enjoy 8 days of beautiful Puglia weather! The grounds are beautiful and well maintained! It has a large, gorgeous pool, a spa hut where one can arrange for a massage, 3 hammocks and a swinging chair under the umbrella of a huge walnut tree, another hammock (also under trees), glider, several seating areas, a covered outdoor kitchen/bar and grill, a separate covered outdoor dining area, just outside the main suite, and secure parking inside the gated property. It is arranged on three levels; house and outdoor area (1 hammock and the glider) at top, pool, outdoor kitchen and seating on middle level, and yard/garden, spa, and hammocks at bottom. There are several nearby hillside restaurants, and a coffee spot/bar, It is only 20 minutes from the beach, as well as from the historic UNESCO town, of Alberbello, Filippo, our correspondent, was extremely professional and very nice, offering assistance and information. Check in with the owner went smoothly, and she offered sites not to be missed. The property is three bedrooms; one is en-suite. The charming stone en-suite shower is small but does the trick. The third bedroom is tiny, but like a warm hug. A couple things to note; to arrive in the en-suite bedroom, you must walk through the second bedroom, or from outside. For us, it was not a problem, because we were family. It would not work for two couples. The lounge/living room, has a table and chairs, no sofa. This is a house in the hills, in a rural neighborhood, which we liked. The only negative Is there are a lot of barking dogs in the neighborhood. This is a rental where we would gladly return!"

Selva literally translates to “wood” and Selva di Fasano is the Hollywood Hills of Puglia. It is where chic Apulians like to escape the intense summer heat of the coastal plain. The villa is ideally situated for exploring other local towns and a mere 10 minute walk to the centre of the village where there are numerous bars/restaurants/shops. Selva di Fasano has everything you need to experience Pugliese life. Our villa sleeps 10 comfortably. We have the advantage of having a lounge, kitchen, upstairs and down, making it ideal for two families or families with teenagers, or groups of friends. The upstairs comprises, large lounge with Natussi leather cream suite, seating 8. A log fire, large Samsung 49" screen TV with connection to all UK Channels, SKY/SKY Movies/SKY Sports/BT Sports and numerous other TV Programmes with a total of 361 Channels. A DVD player. We have a minimum of 2 USB Ports in every room, to save you having to bring adaptors for your phones/IPads etc. The large master suite has a king size bed, bedside tables, ensuite shower room with large shower and white utilities. There is another kingsize bedroom. The third bedroom can either have two single or a kingsize bed. All three bedrooms have two bedside tables and lights and large wardrobes. The door into this area can be locked to make the apartment self contained. Downstairs there's is a large lounge with leather sofa bed. A large red rocking chair and a child's red swivel chair/coffee table/set of drawers. Large 49” LG TV. PS4 Game Box with three games/CD player/DVD/Docking station for an Apple Music. Numerous children/adult DVDs/books and games. If you have young children staying we can arrange to have toys left in downstairs lounge area. The wall unit has lights with switch on shelf next to DVDs. Large extremely well equipped kitchen, with recently fitted white Vama units/washing machine/tumble drier/hob/oven/microwave/Gaggia coffee machine/electric kettle/toaster. Bedroom can either be 2 single or large king size bed. Two bedside tables, lamps, chair, wardrobes. The shower room has white utilities, hairdryer and curling tongs. There is a large outside seating area from the upstairs kitchen, the table can seat 8/10 people. There is a spiral staircase leading, with a locked gate leading up to the roof terrace. Children must be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons. There is an clothes line for washing. You can sit on the roof terrace and enjoy the views. At the front of the house in the corner is a round table with 4 chairs, under front windows two large chairs and on one lawn a swing chair. There are two lawned areas at the front of the house. Steps, with locked gates, lead down to the lower apartment/driveway/garden. There is a large outdoor sofa/table and round table with 4 chairs. From the driveway there is an entrance to the lower garden with swimming pool. The swimming pool is not deep enough for diving. There are 8 loungers and tables around the pool area plus a large mosaic table seating 6/8. There is also a football table/trampoline/cross trainer and some outdoor games. If required we can provide an electric double blow up mattress/baby seat to attach to dining table/baby blow up pool. Although our main house is no 4 Viale di Pini, the large driveway, with parking for three cars, is no 2 and has electric access gates. Our villa is in a very popular village, we are not overlooked by our neighbours, who are all Italians who live in nearby towns and come to Selva for the summer period. We are fortunate to be able to walk to local restaurants/bars/local provision shops/chemist/butcher/Church and village music events.

- "My husband, adult daughter, teenage son and I had a wonderful break at Kathleen's villa. There was so much space and the house was amongst the best equipped we have ever rented. The kitchen was well stocked and there was everything we needed to cook and eat. The beds were comfortable and bed linens good quality. All was spotlessly clean on arrival and we were met with the keys, as promised. The outdoor space and pool were lovely and there were several different areas to sit and relax with a meal or a drink. The village of Selva is very leafy and it was nice to walk around and look at all the beautiful homes, including some trulli. We also walked to the nearby pizzeria, the local fine dining restaurant (Il Fagiano) for Sunday lunch, and the village butcher's evening barbecue. We all loved Puglia a lot. It was the least 'touristy' part of Italy we have visited so far. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with the characteristic fields of olive trees and trulli. We visited some amazing places including Matera and Lecce, plus lovely coastal towns (Monopoli was a favourite), the white city of Ostuni, and Alberobello. Kathleen was a fantastic, accommodating and generous host who made sure we were happy with everything at all stages of the rental, and provided lots of information and tips to enhance our holiday. Her local representative, Evelina, was also very helpful and charming. We would love to return to Puglia, and would have no hesitation in booking this property again."

It’s a recently remodeled “Trullo”, combining the beautiful rustic look of these iconic cone-shaped roofs, with the modernized interior, with high quality furniture and interior decoration. The property on which the Trullo sits is huge! You can literally go take 10 minute walks without ever leaving the (gated) grounds! All in all, we highly recommend this place! This original stone holiday home is located in a beautiful park in the middle of a wooded region known as the "Selva di Fasano." With a private, approximately 50 sqm heated pool, it offers ideal conditions for relaxing days. The house has three bedrooms, two with a double bed and one with two twin beds, two bathrooms with showers, and a fully equipped kitchen including an oven, dishwasher, electric stove, dishes, and cooking utensils. A washing machine, Wi-Fi, heating (in the bedrooms), and air conditioning (in the hallway next to the bedrooms) are available, as well as a shaded outdoor terrace with a table and chairs, a charcoal barbecue, sun loungers and ample parking on the fully fenced property.
Pool heating is optional and costs €100 for preparation plus €10 per day. The water temperature depends on the weather; it typically provides 6-8°C more than an unheated pool and is therefore very popular in spring and autumn, especially with younger guests.
The nearest restaurant is just 300 metres away, and several supermarkets can be reached in a few minutes by car.
The surroundings of the Selva di Fasano are particularly charming. Also known as the "green lung of Puglia," the region is known for its picturesque landscape on a natural plateau approximately 400 meters above sea level and offers numerous recreational opportunities.
