The space
On Orléans Island, near Quebec City, "Au Vieux Foyer" was for thirty years a museum open to the public, promoting cultural exchanges around the world. The "Chambre des Maîtres" facing the living room, on the ground floor, with private bathroom, will allow an immersion in these good and beautiful moments spent.

This country house from the 1800s has retained its original appearance. All woods, and typically Quebec, by the road, still furnished with antiquities, it reminds us of the history and legend of the people of that time. It has been a place of rest and healing for over 35 years. Let yourself be seduced by a pleasant stay in time.

The adventurers, lovers and life enthusiasts will appreciate a life experience with comfort sometimes considered rustic but very rewarding.

On the ground floor, "The bedroom of the Masters' ', once the living room of the house, was used to accommodate dignitaries, visiting family, all special occasions for the dead and alive.

In the macramé era of the 1970s, the house was called "Les Artisanes du Vieux Foyer" and this room served as an exhibition room for the pieces produced and sold on site.

And finally, as a room, the first to stay there was Marie Rose the customs officer of the house, knitting stockings or special socks in addition to delicate crocheted products.

This room retains the charm of yesteryear with its millstones of more than 160 years (except the mattress of course). Its small antique double bed is also small (205.5 by 144.5 cm or 74 by 52 in).

Its bathroom reflects the elements of the past with its tomb bath with shower in the bath.

Access to the lounges is of course available. Guests will have access to parking at the back of the house. Also available is a terrace with swing, picnic table and wood fire. After arrival, access is then free to your choice while respecting others.
