Summary:
Welcome to Neverland. A two storey treehouse set in the rainforest canopy just minutes away from the iconic Stoney Creek Falls and famous Glacier Rock walking track.
Take a dip in one of Stoney Creek's many watering holes, hike up to the top of glacier rock, or simply kick back on the huge verandah and busy yourself with a good book whist submersed in World Heritage Subtropical Rainforest.
Please bear in mind that this is a rainforest listing, so you are likely to encounter some wildlife.
The Space:
Treehouse is made up of two floors. The main, upper floor consists of two bedrooms, main living space, kitchen and bathroom with separate toilet. The lower floor has a large, open plan studio with its own bathroom and small kitchenette area. Both bathrooms and the main kitchen have both just undergone a complete renovation.
Guest Access:
Check in is available until 10pm.
The Neighborhood:
The great thing about Stoney Creek Falls Cairns is that there is a deep, swimming hole just minutes from the car park. To get here, cross the concrete footbridge and take the left track at the fork immediately after. Alternatively, you can also cross underneath the bridge and follow the shallow creek for about 3 minutes to the waterhole.
The swimming hole is wide and roughly 2 metres deep in the deepest section.
Although this is a great spot to swim and cool off, it can get very busy in summer, especially on weekends. Consider visiting early or on weekdays to avoid the crowds.
THE STONEY CREEK WALKING TRACK TO OLD WEIR FALLS
If the swimming hole is crowded, or you’d prefer a short hike to a larger, more secluded waterfall, then take the walking track to Old Weir Falls. This is accessed by taking the straight track from the footbridge fork leading up a wide, dirt track.
This track is the Stoney Creek Walking track, which after about 20-minutes reaches Old Weir Falls. This track follows the creek up the side of a rounded hill and finishes just above the waterfall.
There is a large fallen tree that rests just above the waterfall, framing it nicely. Old Weir waterfall itself cascades roughly 8 metres down a rocky face onto a sand-lined shore.
Although the water isn’t as deep here, it’s still a great place to cool down and enjoy the serenity. There is also a deeper swimming hole just above Old Weir, and a few more spots scattered along the track.
Getting Around:
The biggest attraction to this accomodation is definitely the closer proximity to Stoney Creek Falls, as well as the walking tracks that come with it. It truly is a nature lovers paradise. You can stroll down to the start of the waterfalls in just a few minutes.
Public transport is a little tricky from this location, with the nearest bus stop being a 30 minute walk, so the best way to travel around Cairns is by car, to nip in and out of town, as well as to see the best the city has to offer.
Despite being secluded in lush rainforest, you also have Redlynch central shopping centre, just a few minutes drive from your accomodation. Here you will find Coles, a bottle shop, pharmacy, newsagents, as well as restaurants and fast food outlets.
Other Things to Note:
Tours & Car hire
We also have an in-house travel agency, Cozie Travel, with local travel experts that have a wealth of experience booking a wide range of tours, both within Cairns and all over Australia.
We are more than happy to help with booking your trips and assisting with car rentals. We can probably answer any queries you might have in relation to tours and excursions, so do reach out to us - even if it’s just for honest advice!
- "Fantastic property with loads of attention to detail. We especially loved the quiet away from the hustle and the rainforest setting. Scrub turkeys were a bonus! Highly recommend. Thanks Tommo and team!" - "Accommodation was wonderful. Maybe include some more coffee mugs." - "We had an incredible time staying here! It really felt like a secluded rainforest house while being within easy driving distance of Cairns. We loved seeing the geckos come out at night and hearing the rain on the roof. The house was clean and Thomas and his team were super attentive and helpful throughout the process. We’d absolutely recommend this house to everyone!"

Other Things to Note:
Walking through the woods on our property involves a steep descent, making the terrain quite challenging. We advise against crossing or playing in these sloped forested areas.
In the heart of the forest, especially during spring and summer, insect repellents become essential – it's part of the natural experience!
We ensure the outdoor area is thoroughly cleaned after each guest's departure. However, as our home is nestled in the forest, leaves may naturally fall onto the deck. For your convenience, efficient brooms are available if you prefer to sweep away any leaves before enjoying this beautiful outdoor space. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Our roof is made of metal, so there may be some noise when the temperature fluctuates between morning and evening. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope it doesn’t affect your stay.
The cleaning fee included in your stay covers all professional cleaning services, as well as linen and laundry expenses. Please note, this fee does not extend to extraordinary cleaning tasks such as BBQ/oven cleaning, washing dirty dishes, rearranging moved furniture, removing stains from furniture, bedding, rugs or carpets, or additional rubbish removal. Guests may incur additional charges for these extra cleaning services."
