There are very few north facing beaches on the east coast. The best thing about Point Lookout is that if one beach is a bit blown-out, just go around the corner to another beautiful beach. North Straddie offers many options for your holiday.
Straddie Beach Cabin is a secluded free-standing eco cabin (Shack 18) that offers privacy within the island's premier resort. Located at beautiful Home Beach in Point Lookout, it is set in leafy natural surrounds and caters for singles and couples. It has everything needed to make your stay a pleasurable one, with most of the islands attractions nearby.
The stylish architect designed high-set one-bedroom eco cabin offers a practical, inspirational design, with a mezzanine bedroom featuring a queen size bed. There are two additional single foam mattresses and a portable folding cot stored in the cabin. The cabin is air-conditioned with open plan lounge/dining. It is self contained with a modern kitchenette, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, big screen Smart TV. A medium size Weber Q barbeque stands on the extended rear deck which is secluded by a beautiful natural screen of native greenery. A beach umbrella and two beach chairs are kept in the cabin for guests to use. A small collection of grocery staples and a small supply of cleaning items is also kept on-site. All linen is supplied for two guests. A complimentary room clean and fresh linen is provided for stays longer than 7 days.
A late check-out may be available on request.
Guests have access to the resort's pool (one of the best on the island) and a small gymnasium.
Wireless internet access is available from reception at reasonable rates and the great on-site Cafe offers great breakfasts, lunches, woodfired pizza and a quality barista.

Straddie Shack 18 is a private cabin in an eco resort with access to pool, gym, cafe & private parking. The beautiful 1.5 km stretch of Home Beach is a 1 minute walk from the cabin. We have welcomed guests for years with many repeat visitors. The cabin has a loft bedroom with a queen size bed and two sofas, two single floor mattresses and 2 portable cots. The cabin is air conditioned and has a Smart TV and free to air TV channels. The cabin has clean linen, towels for 2 people, and many extras.
The space
The cabin is fully self contained and has its own natural green screening around the rear deck. You can have it wide open and you are unlikely to see any neighbours except wildlife.
Point Lookout has both eastern and northern facing beaches and inland lakes. There are always options in variable weather conditions. If one beach is blown out - just move around the corner to another beach.
Guest access
Access to the cabin is via a key safe on the front wall 24/7. Do not visit reception - the cabin is privately managed. Guests have access to the resort pool, cafe / restaurant, small gym at the rear of the pool, playground next to the pool, one car park (numbered 18) behind the pool area, and herb garden at the rear of the car park.
Other things to note
It's the little things like beach chairs, beach umbrella, sun screen, boogie board, games, magazines and books that ensure a truly relaxing beach holiday.
The resort cafe is open for breakfast and lunch. And dinner while the pub is being renovated. The bowls club next door, Oasis restaurant and Straddie Hotel are within walking distance.
The cabin has a Crimsafe screen door on the rear so you can vent the cabin with full security.
Wifi in the cabin will ensure your reception / signal. Outside the cabin - Telstra signal is good on the island. Other communication network signals intermittent at high ground or beach.
Access to island via vehicle barge or via water taxi and bus.
The kitchen has great cooking essentials and pantry staples with a baby-sized Weber Q barbecue on the deck.
Shore Break Shack is a cosy, stylish shack and perfect for a "Straddie" getaway. Located in a bush setting at Allure Resort, it offers access to the resort pool, gym & the Straddie Cafe.
A short bush track brings you to Home Beach. You can stroll along the beach passing the Straddie Pub to patrolled Cylinder Beach and continue on to Frenchman’s, Deadman’s and Main Beach. You can also catch the local bus (hourly), hire a scooter or drive.
Please note there is no WiFi and milk is not supplied.
The space
Ground level consists of the kitchen, bathroom and living area that flows out onto a deck. Upstairs - an open mezzanine style bedroom. The shack is both air conditioned and fan cooled.
Please be aware deck off the living area does not have handrails - and may be considered by some to be unsafe for infants and toddlers.
A designated car space is available.
WiFi is not available in the Shack.
It is available at the Straddie Eat Cafe.
Shore Break Shack is privately managed. So please direct your inquiries to me. The Resort Management may be politely reluctant to assist with your inquiries.
Guest access
Shack guests have access to the resort pool, gym (key at reception during opening hours) on site cafe and communal herb garden.
Other things to note
Mobile phone reception can be limited at Point Lookout - especially if your provider is not using the Telstra network.
WiFi is NOT available in the Shack.
Wifi is available at the resort cafe.
