- "This is the most comfortable place we have ever stayed. All the modern details match elegantly with this classic style cottage. It is in a beautiful quiet location, central to nearby attractions with a gorgeous garden area that is safe for children to play in. We enjoyed all the natural lighting, shower/ bath and the comfortable beds. The owners are very nice, and the instructions are clear. We would definitely come back here. A big thank you to the owners!"

- "Everything was basically perfect, lovely views even in cold February. Welcome to the sound of seagulls! The cottage is well equipped and was very clean. Just be prepared for steep stairs & mind your head (which is made clear upfront). We got excellent take-away pizza’s from Andreas on the High Street, 5 minute walk away. Would definitely recommend" - "We spent wonderful days here on the island! In this beautiful cosy and comfortable house. The kitchen facilities were good! A great place to stay!"

- "A fun experience with all mod cons. To stay in a traditional thatched cottage is something special, and Yn Thie Thooit ('The thatched cottage') has been upgraded to a high standard. Access is via outside steps which might be a consideration for some, and kitchen space is a little limited, but for a short stay it was lovely, and certainly somewhere a little different." - "From the day we booked the property, we can only recommend island escapes for the perfect getaways. The property was clean and comfy. The perfect weekend away."

Hidden on the rugged western coastline just beneath Cronk ny Arrey Laa, sits the former home of eccentric recluse Colby Cubbon, who purchased the property hoping to escape the German bombing raids – ironically it was one of only two German bombs that fell on the Island landed just metres away.
The property is owned by Manx National Heritage and operated by Island Escapes on their behalf. The farmhouse now offers a unique holiday destination for families, friends and small groups looking for an adventurous rural getaway.
Nestled along the Raad Ny Foillan coastal walking route and neighbouring the South Barrule mountain bike trails; Eary Cushlin offers something for every outdoors enthusiast.
The property benefits from a spacious living room, separate dining room and large kitchen along with breakfast bar, boot room, a downstairs shower room and upstairs bathroom. Sleeping up to nine people, the farmhouse has four bedrooms and for guests unable to use the stairs, an additional king size sofa bed is available in the lounge.
A private dining experience is also offered at this property which can be booked in conjunction with your stay. Find out more.

- "Thanks for a great stay. We would really like to come back to the same property in the future because the layout, decor and position is great. Unfortunately, the internet broke early on. We also there was no television unless you had both internet and signed in with your own accounts. This was not an issue early on but was when the rest of our family left. For a property of this level the supply of drinking glasses (not wine) was a little short. However, the situation and preparation and support from Island Hideaways was excellent. High chair quickly supplied when requested late by us. Really clean and lovely “White company stuff” in bathrooms and beds very comfy. On warm days/evenings the terrace is awesome."

- "The stay at the Stables was lovely. The location was great, close enough to Peel but just far enough out to feel secluded. The Stables was clean and tidy with all amenities required for a comfortable stay. All rooms had an en suite and great for disabled access due to the location of the downstairs bedroom complete with wet room. Kitchen was well equipped and enough toiletries provided for our stay. We all fell in love with the lovely farm cats who greeted us every morning for a stroke! Unfortunately we lost a day on the Island due to a cancelled flight but everyone at the Stables and Island escapes were on hand to help us re plan our trip. All in all it was a lovely stay and I would highly recommend the visit!"

- "The property is in a wonderful location, rural and very near a beautiful sandy beach. It is well equipped with every thing you need for a comfortable stay. It’s spacious and has plenty of room for everybody, plus a games room and bar. Would definitely recommend a stay at this property" - "Pleasant, helpful and friendly owners. Just mind your head on the cooker extractor it’s slightly low." - "We will be back. It was an incredibly hot week and the house was perfect; it would have been great in the rain too. Wonderful evening views of the sunset and we walked on the beach every day. Hosts were extremely accommodating and had provided all that was needed in terms of bathroom soaps and shampoos, kitchen cleaning and loo rolls etc for the whole stay. Well equipped kitchen, great living/games room. Quiet and secluded patio area. Our dogs loved it and set up home in the utility which could be secured for them after beach runs. The garden wasn’t secure but with well behaved dogs and no passing traffic this wasn’t an issue. Loads of fridge and freezer space and fantastic oven. There is a narrow grass/ gravel track for access and this was absolutely fine for confident motorcycle riders. Only improvement we could think of was protecting the corners of the low hood over the hob- the sharp edges proved a bit dangerous to anyone over 5 ft 8 in who was cooking!"

- "What a great find, charming cottage warm and well maintained, fully equipped with everything you would need in a holiday home, nice little touch having bread, milk, cheese, tea, coffee and biscuits upon arrival. Our 3 boys loved having the outdoor space to play. We came to visit family and the cottage had ample space to accommodate us and our visiting family, we will without a doubt be booking again. Friendly and welcoming host too!!" - "Situated in the South of the Island this was ideal for visiting the many interesting places close by. Very comfortable and well appointed, modern and finished to a high standard. Owner very helpful and accommodating. Golf courses within 15 minutes made it all the more attractive."

- "For myself and my partner, this is our second time staying at The Coach House. For us, it’s perfect. It’s isolated so you get the benefit of the peace and quite but only 10-15 minutes from Peel as and when you need food or want to go out for a meal. We love the layout and the open plan kitchen and lounge and the wood burner is the best bit. We know you will be delighted when you arrive at Close Taggart. These two gold award holiday cottages, Thie Rhennie ("House of Ferns") and Thie Lough ("House of the Lake") can be found well off the beaten track, deep in the countryside, about two miles from the nearest small supermarket, bus routes and village, and six from the nearest town (Ramsey).
Thie Lough has one bedroom and provides the perfect setting for a special break for two.
The owners live on site and will be on hand to greet you and provide any assistance you require, you will have total freedom to enjoy the extensive grounds of Close Taggart which includes a tree house and viewing platform high up in the trees, where you can sit and enjoy a complementary glass of wine. In addition, a further viewing platform provides fabulous views of the setting sun to the west. There is also a summerhouse for guests to use.
The holiday cottages are a great base for nature lovers. The Curraghs where the cottages are located, is an area of wetland and a rich haven of biodiversity with rare flora and fauna. Wild wallabies, normally found in warmer climes, are also thriving here. The animals, native to Australia and Tasmania, have been flourishing ever since a pair escaped in the 1970s from the Curraghs wildlife park, a short distance from the cottages. Researchers believe now there are more than a 100 living in the wild. It is possible to see wallabies living in the wild on one of the short walks from the cottages.
We are very willing to assist with mobility issues, but unfortunately we are unable to accommodate full time wheel chair users due to the layout of the cottage. You can park close to the entrance, with a gravel/grassed area and cobblestones leading to two small entrance steps. Inside the cottage the kitchen and lounge are on the ground floor with normal width stairs leading to the bedroom and bathroom on the first floor.

- "Het was een hele mooie locatie, mooie grote tuin, waar je gebruik van mocht maken. Alles wat je nodig had was aanwezig. Bij aankomst stonden en al een paar leuke verrassingen klaar. Kortom heerlijk verblijf gehad." - "This was our second visit to Close Taggart - and once again, it didn't disappoint. The location is idyllic - the house is set in beautiful grounds, with stunning views of the northern hills. - "We stayed at Ballacallin Court over the Christmas break for 5 days and occupied all 3 cottages which was perfect for our family break. As the cottages all have interleading doors, the set-up was absolutely perfect. The cottages are very well equipped, modern and comfortable, the gym & spa facility is an added bonus. The view from the cottages is beautiful and instantly relaxing. The service we receive from Island Escapes as well as the on-site owners was amazing. The little touches such as bread, milk, cheese and butter in the cottage kitchens was really lovely. We had a wonderful time at Ballacallin and I would highly recommend booking a stay there :)"

- "Clean, tidy and cozy with everything required for an excellent stay. Fantastic view from the front door" - "Lovely cottage in fantastic location. Would love to stay here again. We found fridge/freezer compact, and missed a vacuum cleaner to keep carpets as we found them." - "A delightful little place for a relaxing break. This property has been very tastefully renovated to the highest order and we highly recommend it ." - "We loved our holiday and wanted for nothing in the cottage. We didn't get off to a good start because the directions specified a clock in Colby which we couldn't see from the road and a Co-op which had become a Spar convenience store. In every other respect our stay was wonderful. Thank you"

- "Absolutely amazing place to stay. Good layout and spaciousness of the cottage plus views from garden was just stunning. Brilliant location being able to walk from The Pines to beach, village and hills . Really considerate host and loved details such as wine and chocs. A very minor detail - it would have helped to have more mugs and plates etc to save hand washing, but overall a great place to stay. Thanks Gaye, we loved it." - "Stayed for 1 week May 2023 as two couples. The cottage was superb, well equipped, clean and spacious. - "A warm welcome awaited us from the owners John and Shirley, they were fantastic as we were later in arriving - the cottage was nice, warm, cosy and welcome surprises. We were over for a specific event, however there was lots of information on things to do in the welcome pack. I would of loved to wander around the garden but it was too dark by the time we got back in the evening. We would definitely recommend this cottage. Loved the location as it was out of town and remote, perfect, We will definitely be back."

Wisteria Cottage is a self-catering holiday cottage in a wonderfully rural location in the north of the Isle of Man. In the surrounding area is an expanse of farmland providing the perfect scenery to truly relax and unwind in the great outdoors!
The property is set in lovely gardens and woodland, complete with a small lake, it’s part of a working farm and you’ll see cows in the fields and crops growing. Take a walk around and lose yourself in the many acres of land that the cottage sits within. There is an abundance of flora surrounding Wisteria Cottage and a dawn walk to listen to the birdsong is quite magical. The cottage has the beautiful walled garden for your exclusive private use, a real suntrap or place to look at the stars!
If nature is your thing then you have to explore The Ayres National Nature Reserve, a 15 minute drive away. A quirky part of the island to visit is that's also protected is Ballaugh Curraghs wetlands, home to a unique colony of wild, but shy, wallabies descended from previous escapees from the Wildlife Park.
The cottage is extremely fortunate to be in an area where several species of bat were identified during a recent bat survey. You may be lucky enough to see them at dusk or even hear bat activity at night! The bats' summer roosts are normally active until mid September. You will see the wonderful little creatures emerge from a spot beneath the roof above the back door of the cottage to search for flying insects throughout the night, it’s fleeting but a lovely sight. The cottage has recently been awarded The Unesco Biosphere Award, having become part of the agri-environment scheme.
Inside Wisteria Cottage you will find a homely holiday cottage, providing comfortable accommodation for your visit! There are three bedrooms, a double with en-suite, a linked single room suitable for a child and a twin room with a further en-suite.
The nearby town of Ramsey has a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, a swimming pool, bowling alley and Golf Course. The Mooragh Park in Ramsey boasts a boating lake, childrens' play area & splash park, outdoor bowling, tennis and cafe; it even provides outdoor exercising equipment. There are also two transport museums and a great go-karting facility in nearby Jurby.
Wisteria Cottage is Hard of Hearing aware and offers a Deafgard Fire Alarm Warning System on request. Both orange and brown hearing aid batteries are supplied on request by the owners who lives nearby and is a hearing aid user themselves.

- "Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Wisteria Cottage which was prepared beautifully for our arrival with a few welcome provisions in the fridge too! Beverley gave us a lovely warm welcome and showed us around the walks on the estate- exceeded our expectations- and the secret private garden too for our use! She was a lovely neighbourly presence throughout our stay. We loved the peace and space of the location with gorgeous views of Snaefell and the surrounding hills. The cottage is spacious and beautifully maintained with three showers suited the needs of a family of 5 with teenagers. Beverley even provided garden games and treats for our dog. The only suggestion is that the duvets were quite thick for summer and so a lighter tog with blanket would have suited us better. The IOM escape team have been swift, helpful and professional throughout the whole booking and our stay. Very impressed and will highly recommend to others. Thank you to everyone!"

- "The property is in the ideal location for touring North and South of the Island. The rooms were spotlessly clean and equipped to a high standard, one of the best we've ever stayed in. The thorough information file was very useful as was the comprehensive library of leaflets and booklets on things to do and places to see. Everything has been thought through with care, from the quality furnishings, crockery, cutlery etc. to the magnificent welcome basket of food and wine. Can but hope it's available next time we visit this fascinating island."

Wyllin Cot is a delightful 18th century fisherman's cottage, nestled in the hamlet of Glen Wyllin and is steeped in history. Glen Wyllin started out life as a mill and Wyllin means ‘mill' in Manx.

NEWLY IMPROVED FOR 2024 - Now with shower room and fitted kitchen with all the mod con’s! 18th Century meets 21st Century.
Wyllin Cot is a delightful 18th century fisherman's cottage, nestled in the hamlet of Glen Wyllin and is steeped in history. Glen Wyllin started out life as a mill and Wyllin means ‘mill’ in Manx. The cottage was built in the 18th century and this tiny yet perfectly formed building has been restored sympathetically to maintain original character with modern day luxuries. A very special feature of Wyllin Cot is the garden that comes with it. Take a walk down a private grassy path opposite the cottage, to a peaceful and enclosed garden of considerable size. Also available for your use is the summer house, where you can sit back, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
It is situated in a conservation area where there are immediate walks on your door step. You can take a lovely wooded riverside walk in Coooildarry Nature Reserve which is owned by the Manx Wildlife Trust or down to the beach and along the coast.
You are spoilt for choice in Wyllin Cot as you can completely relax on the colder days in the unique slipper bath in the master bedroom, or you can curl up next to the log burner. If you are more of an adventurous type and like to be out and about exploring there are plenty of mountain bike trails, lots of tarmac for those road cyclists or for motor bike enthusiasts with immediate access to the Isle of Man TT course. For walkers the Raad Ny Foillan coastal footpath or up into the hills and all without jumping into a car!
There is a lounge/kitchen with a downstairs toilet and shower room and upstairs the Master bedroom with a slipper bath. Next door your dressing room with hair dryer, straighteners and clothes hangers/storage.
Please note the slipper bath wouldn’t suit anyone with mobility issues as you need to be able to step into the bath.
Situated across the lane from the house and originally set up by 2 entrepreneurs in the late 1800s, when the railway ran into Glen Wyllin, as a Victorian garden with a tea room. Rare plants were brought into the garden to thrive into this area which is now owned by the cottage. A beautiful and large wild garden with a river running alongside provides the perfect setting for you to unwind.

The space
Enjoying stunning sunsets, Peel is locally known as the sunset city, and boasts the Isle of Man's only cathedral. A working fishing port, in Peel you can still see Kippers, fish that has been split from tail to head and smoked being cured in the traditional manner at Moores Kipper Yard. In addition to Peel Castle, the House of Manannan provides a fascinating insight into the history of the Isle of Man, from the Viking past to exploring 19th century Peel with a walk around the sailmakers loft, chandlers shop, quayside, complete with sights and smells from the Manx kipper yard, and uncover the importance of the sea to the lives of the people on the Isle of Man.
Charles Street itself is known for being one of the most picturesque streets in Peel. The houses are mostly Peel Sandstone and the traditional street lights give it a really original feel. And whilst you cannot drive to the door of the property, there is plenty of on street parking nearby, and for loading and unloading luggage you can pull a car up close by.
