- "We spent 3 days at this newly-renovated cottage near downtown Calistoga. Our party included myself, my husband, and our Cavalier King Charles, Daisy. The cottage is one of three at a beautifully-landscaped estate that also includes a main house. The compound is arranged around a small courtyard, and has a peaceful, serene atmosphere that leads to a sense of refuge and comfort. Though the unit is small, it is extremely well-provisioned and pleasant. As my husband said, “it has everything you need and nothing you don’t.” This leads to a clean, tidy, yet luxurious atmosphere. Our unit also had a fenced backyard with deck. Thoughtful details abound: a Kuerig coffee maker, milk steamer, Cuisinart toaster oven, microwave, all needed utensils, and even a supply of aluminum foil and plastic wrap. If you are a fan of luxurious sheets, you will love the “Comphy” linens. And they even offer special supplies for the dog: soft sleeping blanket, towel, and bowls for food and water. There’s a nearby dog park, and Daisy loved walking and exploring the streets with us. The location is also outstanding, if you like small-town peaceful neighborhoods. It is any easy quarter-mile walk to the Cal-Mart and downtown, with many excellent shops, cafe’s, restaurants, and wine-tasting bars. It’s also a short drive to a number of beautiful hikes in the parks of nearby hills. Management was extremely friendly and available, though nothing broke down, so we had no need to contact them beyond greetings and regretful goodbyes. We will definitely be repeat renters at this property!"

It‘s worth noting that the Wifi would get slow sometimes and I‘d need to tether on my phone for work calls. This was not a big problem for me however and Marie responded very quickly to have someone take a look when I mentioned this to her. There’s no beating the magical feeling I got in the mornings whenever I opened the drapes to the sight of hot air balloons taking off. Overall I‘d very much recommend this home for anyone looking for a peaceful spot to stay in Napa Valley!"

Shelly has literally thought of everything her guest might need and intuitively (and labeled!) in areas that are easily found. And I mean everything, soaps, shampoos, first aid kit, toothpaste, tons of towels, computer connectors, litter boxes, leash, treats, the list goes on. When I first arrived and was orienting, Shelly was available for a few quick emails. My dog felt comfortable and at home, so different than a hotel room. It's and easy walk downtown for all the sites and restaurants. Lots of love and thoughtfulness went into this rental, all appreciated."

The cottage is a completely separate unit with its own entrance, parking, and yard.

The space: Just 4 short blocks from Main Street for all the shopping, dining and wine tasting you can handle. Close to many parks, lots of hiking trails and all of the best wineries in the Napa Valley! We do charge pet rent- $100 per month per pet.

Guest access: The cottage it located on the property where we live but is completely separate so you have your own privacy. Your own entrance, deck, yard, parking and laundry.

Other things to note: We have a golden doodle on the property named Bodie who will make fast friends with you if you’re interested. However, our home has its own yard and you won’t need to interact if you don’t want to.

7-Day Cancellation Policy: The first night of your stay is charged to your credit card at the time of reservation. The balance is posted on your arrival date, and any outstanding balance is due at check-out. Your reservation is guaranteed by your first night's deposit and secured by your credit card on file.

You have 7 days prior to arrival to cancel or change any dates of your reservation. Outside of 7 days, you may cancel or change the dates of your reservation, for any reason, for a handling fee of $50 and the remaining deposit will be refunded to you. If you cancel or change dates within the 7 days prior to your arrival, your first night's deposit will be forfeited. Cancellations within 24hrs of arrival forfeit their entire reservation. There are no exceptions.

Additionally, there will be not be any refunds for early departures or unused portions of your reservation or packages you may have booked through us. We adhere to this policy without exception. If you must cancel your reservation, please call us right away at 800-799-2284. Reservations are not considered canceled until you receive a cancellation number from Cottage Grove Inn. Thank you.

The space
Our 1 + 1/3 acre property is approximately 10-12 minutes up Howell Mountain, from St Helena and our local St Helena Hospital. Perfect for traveling health professionals + tourists! We live in one home, + have two other “cottages” on the property.

Our home on the ridge of Jericho Canyon has spectacular panoramic views of the dramatic rock escarpment called The Palisades. Our view of Table Rock is extraordinary. The professionally developed gardens, two vineyard blocks and a picturesque barn provide close-up color to this historical estate.
Our property is 3 miles from town but very private and in the wilderness - turkeys, foxes, snakes, deer, etc. are out there.
A gated drive leads to the cottage - a perfect place to relax and unwind.

The space
Jericho Ridge is about 3 miles from the center of downtown Calistoga. We have 80 acres with incredible hiking trails. There is even a significant waterfall right up the road on the neighboring property. Our cottage has the most incredible views in the Valley and relaxing on either of the patios is a great way to end the day – or spend a relaxing day, all day.
The house is furnished and complete with a fully equipped kitchen, great for active cooks, two outdoor seating areas and Weber grill for year round outdoor dining.
Both Bedrooms have a Queen Size bed and there is one (relatively small) shared bathroom with a shower.
We have a dishwasher and laundry facilities but ask that laundry facilities are only used if you stay more then 7 days. Our housekeeper will do the laundry after you leave.
We do not charge a separate cleaning fee to keep the price down but do expect our home to be left as it was found. We have lots of amenities for you to use/share during your visit - games, movies, various kitchen items, etc. We just ask that you do not take any of the personal items with you (crazy but that happens) and replace anything that you finish (ie. sugar, flour, etc) so that the next guest has it for their coffee too. Also please be aware that we do not have WIFI or cable. We have some great movies, Verizon works well and I have an ATT hotspot on my ipad that also works well. I think you will find that being disconnected is part of the beauty of the property.

Each cottage has access to its own outdoor space, where you might linger over a bottle of Cabernet and a cheese board.
