It is also located next to farmland (which is pastoral and beautiful) but during our stay they fertilized the fields so we couldn't spend any time outside on the lovely back patio or open the windows. Not the Owner's fault of course, but something to bear in mind. We would also suggest that the linens be updated somewhat. Given the price we were paying we would have hoped for something a little less "family summer house" quality. As compared with other hotels in the area however, we would stay there again."

In the middle of a magnificent landscape, located on “The Queens Route” from Ålesund to Geiranger, you will find Urke, a perfect place for an extraordinary and peaceful holiday. This region has, for more than a century, been an inspiration for tourists and artists. The site is stunningly beautiful with the majestic mountains circling the fjord, constantly changing in character with changes in light and weather. From the cottage there is a panoramic view to the fjord and the mountains.
The cottage, which is designed by an architect, is superbly adapted to the steep terrain. Running along the front of the cottage, there is a large terrace facing south. Part of the terrace is covered by a glass roof. From the livingroom and all bedrooms there are doors opening out to the terrace, and the kitchen have sliding doors to the sitting / dining area under the glass roof. There is also a small covered patio to the southwest.
The modern architecture has elements inspiered by older Norwegian building traditions; the visible beams, the turf roof and the stone wall in front. The long narrow shape is inspired by the old long-houses. The cottage was built in 2009-2010.

Ski: After a 45-minute-drive your are in the middle of the skiing area Gautefall. The car can be parked very close to the lift.
Gautefall, the biggest skiing area in the region Telemark, has 15 slopes, one chair-lift and six drag lifts with a total capacity of 600 persons/hour. Snow cannons guarantee fail-safe + best snow conditions. The ski-runs are lit in the night. In the new “snow park” quarter pipes, big jumps, many rails and one of the best half pipes in Norway offer extensive pastline activities. Of course, there is a separate skiing area for children with one lift, free of charge for children under 7. Ski schools for all kinds of skiing and snowboarding are a matter of course. All in all the area provides 100 km of groomed cross-country ski-runs.
The 4.5 km tarmac cross-country ski-run for summer cross-country skiing or wheel-chairs have to be mentioned, too.

Nice traditional cottage with 3 bedrooms. Bathroom with shower and toilet. Kitchen with fridge, cooking plate and microwave. There is a terrace with beautiful view over the Hardanger fjord. 2 Parking places 20m away. 15 min to beach by walk, 35 min drive to glacier summer ski center and 30 min to Odda (50 min to Trolltunga parking).
There are three rooms, one with double bed (120 cm), two rooms with single bed and sleep sofa. There is also possibility to use sleeping corner under the roof.

The house contains living room, kitchen, bathroom and 3 bedrooms. Here are opportunities all year and the house has both heating and ac with heat pump and the possibility of wood-burning.

Fantastic, big and secluded property on the island of Huglo, Stord, with main house, boathouse, private quay and beach with beautiful view to Hardangerfjord and the Kvinnheradmountains. Most buildingds are made of old timber from 1800 century. Yet the house have modern amenities like electrical heating, dishwasher, heated bathroom floor etc. The property has also three annexes which can be rented in addition. Rental includes a rowing boat and firewood for the big fire place in the living room.

The space
This place is for those who seek a different experience with a feeling of travelling back in time, enjoying peace and quietness in close contact with the surrounding nature, but still have modern amneties.

Guest access
The rental is for the main house, the boathouse and also a small cabin , originally made for children. Two basic annexes, which can sleep a total of eight persons, can be rented in addition.

Other things to note
We would like our guests to bring their own bedlinen and towels. if this however is not possible, it can be rented for an additional 150 per person. As there are few people living in Huglo and we live in Bergen, it is required that the guests clean the place themselves after their stay. We provide all cleaning remedies, vacum cleaner etc.
