- "It was lovely our stay here. It is quite expensive but worth it. The only thing that felt strange was the ground/house keeper and his wife accommodation, directly next to host... It was a shack, which was in such contrast to the luxury of the house we stayed, it made me feel quite uncomfortable, but that was just my personal feeling. " - "We spent 1 night at the lake cottage and then 6 at one of Sonali's other properties (South Point Abbey) that is located a short distance away on the beach. The Lake Cottage is a very quaint cottage, situated on the most beautiful lake. There are monkeys in the trees and lot of wildlife to watch. The cottage comes with a caretaker, houseboy, cleaner and a chef (if required). The chef cooked us the most delicious meal for our arrival and we were looked after very well. Sonali also has a number of other properties around the area and she was so generous in allowing us to go view a couple of them as they were situated next door to the beach house we then stayed at. She really does have a house to suit any requirement, be it wanting seclusion (lake cottage), rustic charm (South Point Abbey), Open plan living on the beach (South Point Villa) or if you have a huge family or want to holiday with other families then take a look at South Point Ocean. Every member of staff we met (even at the houses we were only viewing) greeted us like family and we immediately felt at home. A special mention also to Prageeth and Nilusha at South Point Abbey who are an absolute credit to Sonali. If you look at staying at one of the beach houses, be prepared to say WOW as the gates open from the main road and you see the view you will wake up to each morning. I cannot rate Sonali and her houses enough as we had the most perfect stay. We would not hesitate in booking again. We did not want to leave."

The house is rustic and best to be reading, painting, gazing or simply sleep the whole day or laze away with a hot cup of tea or cocoa and a movie. One could also hike to a secluded lake (3km) for a dip in icy cold water at an elevation of 3000ft or drive to the first tea plantation in Sri Lanka (the Loolecondera tea estate) or Kandy (15km) or the constantly misty village of Mandaramnuwara (50km) and Nuwara Eliya on a beautiful ancient Cart Road via Deltota.

The villagers’ cooking is authentic and divine.

It’s a neighborhood inhabited by many laid-back villagers whose main occupation is farming and revolves around a very peaceful traditional Buddhist culture not exposed to any sort of commercial tourism.

A direct bus from Kandy town is available to the little village of Moragolla/ Bellwood Junction (Kirimetiya Estate bus stop - 15kms). There is another kilometer of a beautiful walk from the bus stop to the property.

Also, a TUK TUK for three pax (depending on luggage size) from the city of Kandy could be arranged.
