- "Awesome quiet place for my children and I. Walking distance to everywhere! Love it! " - "They actually gave away our room at the Albergue Verde and had the driver take us to the Alpackers instead. That's all fine, except we didn't know this. So picture this: our first time in a new city, it's 1 am. Our driver drops us off at what we think is the wrong hotel, we're worried this hotel won't have a room for us (plus the other place will expect payment even if we don't show), there's four of us, including a child, each of us has a 40 lb piece of luggage to carry, we have no map, and no idea how to get to the right hotel. So before he can leave, we're telling him this isn't right and loading our luggage back in his van. He's very confused (but nice). I give him a copy of the confirmation paperwork I printed out before leaving home and ask him to take us to the hotel on it, which he does. He drives us to the Albergue Verde, which is completely full and the lady at the front desk is also confused. She pulls out a binder, makes a phone call and finally figures out what happened then explains it to us and our driver. We wound up right back where the driver first thought we belonged. We felt bad for him, because he insisted on unloading the luggage each time (3 times total), and it added at least 30 minutes to his already long night of driving around. Once we were at the right place (and knew it), the check in was easy, the front desk people were very nice. It was an overall good experience."

The advert also said breakfast was included and basically, they showed me to the kitchen. They had two cats (not stated in the advert), and I am VERY allergic to cats. One cat liked to sit in the kitchen sink by the dish drainer where the clean dishes were kept which did not thrill me as I am not a pet in the house person. There were no toiletries available. So, it was NOT a terrible stay, but it was an UNEXPECTED situation. If you are okay with the noise, the in and out of people, a shared bathroom, buying your own food, and cats, then no problem! Again, it was just unexpected, but the host family was lovely!"

- "The beds are really hard, it's like sleeping on hard wood floors and it was waaayy too noisy. Especially you can hear almost everything from your room because of how the building is made." - "Although I had pre-paid and checked in without question, after I checked out and just after I called an Uber to go to the airport, staff accused me of not paying for my stay and locked me in the hotel, demanding payment, while my Uber waited outside. I showed the staff the payment page on the Hotels.com app and they continued to demand payment. When I got out of the hotel and got in my Uber, the staff chased me out onto the street, stopped the car and tried to get me out of the car, telling the driver I hadn't paid. Fortunately, the Uber driver took my side and we left. I believe this hotel was trying to extort money out of me, hoping I would give them cash so I wouldn't miss my ride and my flight. They had a whole day to check that they had received payment (in a call after the episode, Hotels.com confirmed they did receive payment). I would warn all travellers against staying at this hotel. This was a dangerous and scary situation. I have informed Hotels.com of what happened and I have asked them to remove this property from their listings or risk liability for future travellers who are locked in the hotel and harassed for money. This was a frightening and horrible experience."
