- "Great stay, thank you so much!" - "Thank you, great experience!" - "The hotel is a located inside a converted house. Everything looks very traditional, complete with low ceilings, sliding doors, mat covered floors and futons. The dorm slept four, which I though was tight, but it seems to work well enough that I slept quite well both nights. My futon had two layers and although I like a firm mattress, I did think it was quite sore on my back the 1st night. Common areas include the kitchen, cafe and lounge. The sink, shower room and toilet were separate and I never had to wait to use any of those. Most importantly, the shower and toilet were Japanese standard of cleanliness. The staff ere are fantastic. After check-in, they have ready made advice and detailed for how to see the main attractions around Nagano. I had a car, so they offered great advice to see the Kaminari Falls, scenic Route 66 and onsens. The hotel is very social and the staff do everything to make the guest feel welcome and even join in with shared meals. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay in a traditional buildings with friendly host and staff."

The hostel also has two bikes that can be borrowed free of charge, and although unfortunately one of the bikes were broken, we were able to borrow bikes for free from the city - Nice! The interior of the hostel is super nice and cozy, and the hosts are very kind and always helpful. Only downsides were that it was quite cold in the house and the bar seemed to be closed (so we could not use our drink discount tickets) but it is also quite understandable as we were the only ones there our first night. We designed the guesthouse to have very simple and comfortable sleeping areas, with a strong focus on an inviting communal lounge, and convenient facilities.

The sleeping areas have huge bunk beds (big enough for a parent and child, or your computer bags), and space to store your luggage underneath.

The facilities include plenty of showers and toilets, sink counter, and two sets of washers & dryers.

The kitchen is big enough to cook and eat in, or you are welcome to bring your food to the lounge.

The lounge is the highlight, with big windows facing south over the classic Nawate Street. The lounge has board games, sofas and coffee tables, and two small tables with chairs for eating a meal. Please relax and enjoy the views!

3 minutes by car from Suwa IC. It is a 10-minute drive from Chino Station. This designer guest house is in a great location close to Suwa Lake and Yatsugatake, and is perfect for sightseeing in Suwa City, Nagano Prefecture (Suwa Taisha Shrine, Lake Suwa, Tateishi Park, etc.).

The space
Designer Suite Room
This is room 201, a Balinese-style room, room 202 with a black and white loft, and room 203, a spacious European-style room of about 12 tatami mats. Coco Hotel has a total of 3 rooms plus a lounge with a kitchen.
You can also use the shared lounge without hesitation by renting all three rooms.
If you rent all the rooms
1 bathroom with bath, 1 shower room, 2 washrooms, and 2 toilets can all be used separately from the room.

There is also a lounge with a dining kitchen in the common space of about 12 tatami. It is a system kitchen with a large refrigerator, rice cooker, oven, microwave, and gas stove, and can be used for simple cooking that does not produce smoke.

Of course, we can also guide you if you want to visit tourist attractions in Suwa, including Suwa Taisha Shrine.
