The bathrooms are glass enclosed so anyone in the room can see fully into the bathroom which for me wasn’t an issue because I was traveling alone but if you are traveling with anyone other than a life partner it would be odd not to have toilet privacy. Although even with a romantic partner an open visible toilet is odd. I had the a/c on the whole night on full but it never got very cold. Summer heat could be bad. When I arrived there was no tea kettle and this was quickly remedied. Although I questioned whether the room was not a full view room and was told partial views were on the lower level, the room did have part of the view cut by the building next door. Also when I arrived I wanted to take a nap but there was a lot of hammer banging. In the evening the power went off for about 10-15 minutes. In the morning the water temp kept changing. The hotel does have its own parking. You are up on a hill and not in an area where things are easily accessible without a car. However it is near walking distance to windmills. Wouldn’t take the car as right after the hotel the roads become terrible with uneven rocks. Their bteakfast was great. Fresh egg dish offered along with a traditional Turkish breakfast with fresh pishi and a variety of breakfast items. "

When we first arrived in our Garden Floor Family Room, I thought it was kind of odd the only entry into our room was through our patio door. As we entered the room, it had a dark, cave-like quality to it with the thick, concrete walls. The room had AC, a mini fridge, and storage space for luggage/clothes. The beds were firm, yet comfortable (be careful though as the headboards weren't attached to anything, just wedged between the beds and the wall). The bathroom was at the furthest end of room and contained only 2 lights over the sink, insufficient storage for personal hygiene products, 1 peg to hold a hand towel, and ants on the floor. We notified the front desk of the pests and asked if there was availability to move to another room not on the ground level. They were fully booked and said they'd try to clean or spray. However, they didn't have any spray and implied that this sort of comes with the territory on the ground level. Needless to say, we weren't happy with the level of customer service. Note: the upper-level rooms looked amazing and probably didn't have the same pest problem. The next morning, we ate a delicious breakfast with a sea view. The owner was also on site and was much more willing to make alternate accommodations for us. So, we moved to their sister property, Cunda Vrodi Hotel. The room at this property was clean, had better natural light, and had an equally delicious breakfast. "

Ali, the owner, showed us two different rooms, our choice. Rooms are pleasantly decorated in French Provincial style -we had a cute 4 poster canopy bed. Bathroom is small but efficient. We had a small balcony with a nice view out over fields and the sea beyond. We ordered take away from the village and Ali set up a table for us in the dining room, right in front of the cozy wood stove. Breakfast was included and was excellent Turkish breakfast. There is a nice garden area and in the summer it is probably nice to sit outside to have your meals. We had some trouble connecting to free wifi, but Ali made some calls and soon resolved the issue for us. Esen Hotel is a peaceful place to stay in the town of Cunda, away from hustle of the city of Ayvalik."

Our hotel is composed of two conjoined buildings built by late 1800s. With 13 rooms, a terrace, and a large garden, it is a comfortable and cozy house. In the garden there is an ancient historical tap, and another separate garden for the Deluxe Room that had served as a kitchen for the guest house for many years.
