- "We only spent one night at this property during the last day of our trip to South Africa. We really wish we had booked additional nights. WOW. We stayed in Room #7 which had an amazing balcony set-up that allowed us to view both sides of the valley at different times of the day. The room was very comfortable, clean and well appointed. All of the rooms have amazing views and easy access to the pool area and lounge. The staff were fantastic. They assisted us with making dinner reservations at the neighbouring Delaire Graff and accommodated a late check out. We were able to store our luggage and enjoyed their "shower room" before heading off to the airport for a late flight home. The breakfast was excellent and taken on the patio overlooking the pool and the valley. The kitchen and bar staff were very attentive to our needs. This is a very small resort which makes it very comfortable and quiet. The perfect spot for a nice relaxing visit of the Stellenbosch area. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back if we make it to this part of the world again."

We have stayed at several other properties in the area and this one just sneaks to the prime position, as our new favourite. The grounds are immaculate and the views of the mountains and the surrounding area, really do make for a wonderful backdrop for a peaceful stay. We thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the sculptures around the grounds- fab! It is a little way out of town. So you will need to take the shuttles that run into town at set times. Or pay for a taxi. Their partner hotels in the town itself are very accommodating, should you need to drop by and use their facilities as well. Spa is lovely. And the gym well equipped. The on premise art gallery is worth a visit. And we had a wine tasting included in our stay, which was a nice touch. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Lots of options. And again, service was very on point. We will definitely be back. "

- "The views alone are stunning down the valley. Within east reach of Franschhoek and a perfect hideaway pad" - "We stayed upstairs in the Peony room, which was huge and beautiful. The structure is an old mansion in the Cape Dutch style, but has been completely renovated with all the modern necessities. The only issue we had was with the refrigerator, which seemed to struggle keeping things cold. It was in a cabinet, and as long as we kept the cabinet door open, the refrigerator worked fine. Maison Montagne is about a mile uphill from town. From the pool, patio, and the rooms is a view that is truly hard to believe. We would go out to sit and read by the pool but wound up just admiring the view. Truly amazing. The restaurant on site is good and only a 5 minute walk down the hill is another that is excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. "

- "Had a beautiful view from the room, great breakfast, quiet and rooms are very comfy…" - "The hotel had only been open for 5 weeks when we stayed, but we were very impressed with the operation and the facilities available. Very large bed was really comfortable, aircon worked well and the balcony opening out on to a young vineyard was a lovely extra touch. Breakfast on both mornings was great, with lots of options including hot dishes. The gym was well-appointed (by hotel standards), and the sauna was a lovely touch of relaxation during our stay. The stay felt like good value for money - you are a little outside of Franschhoek town, but the vineyards are an easy taxi journey away. The only things I would expect to see which we didn't have, would be filtered water readily available throughout the resort (especially in the gym!), and more toiletries than just body wash and a bar of soap (I'd expect shampoo at a minimum, but conditioner and body moisturiser would be welcome additions). We will certainly consider this hotel again if/when we return to Franschhoek."
