The hotel itself feels like being an tempel/park itself. It’s rather beautiful and quiet! Room was pretty big and clean. Breakfast was a bit lacking I would say, but still okay. - "This was a lovely surprise. It is on the quiet side of the river, meaning you have a 5 minute ferry and a buggy cart ride to get to/from the hotel, but what a blessing that is. The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff are outstanding, so helpful, full of advice, and constant care. We went caving with the owner, we did hikes, we rode horses, we went to local shows, and spa making for an amazing three night say. I might suggest checking if the pool is open which it was not, but other than that the staff really make this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean, modern touches and a touch of cute. When we arrived at Grand Bravo Hotel from the train station, about 20 minutes taxi, we were very impressed with the massive and fancy lobby. After check-in, we went to the bar with our luggage and realized no one had asked if they could take it to the room. We went back to the desk and had to ask ourself. The room size and amenities were very ample, but whole hotel is smoking and the rooms smell bad, and the air conditioning in the rooms is mediocre at best. On day 2 we went to the travel agency inside the hotel to find no one that spoke English, and even when they brought someone from the front desk to translate they could not book anything for us. Luckily we met another westerner the previous night who was staying at the Sheraton, and told us his booking was easy and the travel agency spoke great English. We decided to go to the Sheraton and book some tours ourself and it was a breeze. I will say the one 5 star aspect of the grand bravo Guilin is the new Ding Xuan Music Bar. We actually came in one day before their grand opening and they gave us a free beer for being their first customers, and told us to come back tomorrow. Here the staff was fantastic and accomodating. We sang karaoke and hung out with them for hours. Lastly the hotel is a little off the beaten path, but a taxi to town is only a 10-20 yuan, so not a huge deal. Make sure to have a translation app on your phone!!"

- "My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were dingy and dirty. The shower drain was clogged with hair so our shower water wouldn't drain and would flood the entire bathroom. The air conditioning was weak and couldn't cool down the room (Guilin can get extremely hot and humid, so AC is pretty important). The hotel claims to offer laundry machines but the machines cost money and the dryer did not work. I spent 50 yuan trying to dry a load of laundry but ended up having to carry my wet clothes to the next hotel to launder. Additionally, in order to use the laundry machines, you have to download a special app to submit payment, which was complicated and time consuming. The young lady who works at the front desk was very sweet and lovely and tried her best to help us out with the various issues that came up. But these issues were outside the scope of what she was able to address. In conclusion, this is a gross, terribly maintained hotel. I highly recommend avoiding it. Also the coffee shop in the lobby is only open in the evening."

- "We really enjoyed our stay at Yangshuo Village Inn. The staff were super friendly and helpful and they took the time to give us helpful tips about things to do and to chat with my wife’s parents. It felt kind of like staying with friends. The hotel is in a great location for a lot of activities like bamboo river rafting, Ru’Yi Peak, caves, river walk etc. You can rent a bike or a moped in town, which will allow you to access a lot of activities easily. The hotel provides a helpful guidebook and it was really useful for finding things to do. Someone put a lot of thought into the hotel and the garden, which is all lit up at night and is a really nice place to sit and chill out. The restaurant on the property is also good and has both Chinese food and an extensive Western menu if your kids are picky. This place is great. Highly recommended!"

- "The Tea Cozy Hotel was recommended to us by someone who lives in China and has been here several times - it was a great recommendation. My wife, daughter and I stayed at the TC for 6 nights in April. The hotel is a small, privately owned, establishment; it is clean, comfortable and has a delightful pool. The food is great and good value (as are the beer and wine), and the location of the hotel is very convenient for the river, walks and Jangshuo. But the best thing about the hotel is the staff - every member of staff we met was helpful, good humoured, charming and spoke good English. The service was very helpful and personal.
