- "Fantastic visit to this hotel. Room was lovely and clean, comfy bed, nice towels and even had toiletries. Nice decent sized tv and great variety of teas and coffees. We took our dog Barney and he was made very welcome, even getting a welcome pack. It contain 2 chews, a ball and a poop bag. There were even dog biscuits on the bar for a donation to charity. The bar was nice and with plenty of tables and drinks. A lovely log burner which Barney loved. Fresh bowls of water for him too. We went half board and was worth every penny. The food is amazing. Lots of choices for breakfast and all freshly cooked. The evening meals were delicious too. Being half board you got a choice of a main and a starter or desert. Again all freshly cooked. All the staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Would definitely return and recommend. "

- "This is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. We're looking forward to coming back and staying again, as the plans for new menus sound fantastic. Room sizes and facilities are very adequate for a short stay. The location is very central for the surrounding walks, caves, lakes and other activities. Thank you for a lovely stay."
