- "Very nice place to stay" - "As I was using my Tesco reward voucher from Clubcard I was restricted to mostly non branded hotels but chose Penny Hedge by Marstons Inns after reading reviews. Easy to book using the voucher and the price breakdown was clearly displayed meaning I knew what I was paying for beyond what the voucher covers. Friendly welcome from the staff, check in was easy and a table booked for that evening at the adjoining pub. It should be said that the reception/check in is in the pub itself - which is a separate building to the Inn, bar staff were quick to help us on arrival. Breakfast was plentiful, easy to book and paid for separately, extra pillows were provided within minutes of asking. Room was a twin with hanging space for clothes, desk, hairdryer and a note on the door saying iron/board available if needed. There is no lift - very secure building, my son loved that all the doors "tweeted" on opening/closing using the keycard. The single beds were narrower than we are used to but comfortable. Nowhere to hang coats in the room itself which surprised us so we used the double hooks on the back of the bathroom door so problem solved. If we had wanted our room serviced as were staying for 2 nights signs asked us to inform staff and display the door hanger. Hotel is 10 minute drive to Whitby town centre and harbourside - check out was easy and a reasonable 11am."

The Duke of Wellington is an ivy-clad traditional eighteenth century inn located in Danby, near Whitby. The hotel is an ideal base for exploring the Moors, Whitby and the coast. An iron plaque of the Duke of Wellington was recently uncovered on the outside of the building and has been mounted on the fireplace in the bar. - "Beach weekend away with our dog. The Wilson arms is welcoming. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. Breakfast was great. The room was well appointed and super clean. We had an evening meal in the bar and it was absolutely lovely - had steak and I struggled to finish it as the portions was so generous. We ate at the Inn on two nights (too full after fish & chips in Whitby the middle night!) and this was also good. The owner (Dawn?) and I think her name was Zoe, were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Altogether a lovely stay and we would definately recommend. "

The bed was comfortable and had a lovely winter duvet which kept us warm all night! Overall, I’d definitely stay there again as the on call staff were amazing and highly responsive to our queries. "

- "Great stay. Lovely views. Great value for money " - "My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our recent stay in Whitby at "The Endeavour" Pub/Hotel. The atmosphere there was excellent and all the staff we met were very friendly and helpful, and made us feel very welcome. The fact that there was a proper pub on-site which served real ales and had live music performances taking place each of the evenings we were staying there was also a really great added bonus, as well as the fact that the whole place seemed to be really clean and tidy from top to bottom, from what my girlfriend and I could tell, at least. The location of the Premises was also ideal, in terms of it being very close to the Abbey and within very easy walking distance to many of the local eating and drinking establishments, and shops, as well as being near to many of the other local amenities, attractions and so forth. This was particularly useful in view of both my girlfriend and I needing to easily be able to find our way around, due to having limited sight. With this in mind, I can also say that the staff members we met at "The Endeavour' Pub/Hotel all went out of their way to make sure we had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay there. So this is somewhere we would absolutely definitely be more than happy to stay at again on any future visits to Whitby. "

Crow's Nest is a self contained 3 bedroomed apartment on the top floor of Hotel La Rosa. The rooms are loosley based on Peter Pan and share a living room with tea/coffee making facilities. Two of the rooms have view across the harbour to the Abbey and the sea, one of which has an en-suite shower room.
