She began checking us in and explained about the parking at £5 per night(no problem with this) She was helpful and polite. We got the key and headed to the room. It was pretty clear this hotel was old and needed serious investment. We got to the room and I must admit I was relieved as the room was clean as were the beds. Yes the room needs an upgrade but at least it was clean. I didn’t need to find somewhere else to stay. For £270 for the two nights, I did expect better than what we got. Decided not to eat Breakfast(which was an extra charge) in the hotel due to the overall cleanliness. We walked round the corner to a B&B the rest of our family stayed in and ate with them. On check out we had to wait for around ten mins for the same lady to come running over the street again. By this time there were 3 or 4 other rooms trying to check out, a few of these people were making complaints. Overall it’s a pretty poor hotel for the money we paid, would have been better paying for two rooms in the same hotel as the rest of the family (£70 per night including breakfast) "

- "Over all very good " - "We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor but we noticed straight away that the toilet was leaking. The staff were straight onto the problem but it couldn't be quickly fixed so we were moved to an alternative room which was more spacious and with a nicer outlook. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. We enjoyed the breakfasts and booked to eat in the hotel each night and were not disappointed- good food, and not too pricey. On our final evening i became ill in the early hours of the morning- we needed to ask for assistance and the night porter, Gerard, was excellent and did all he could for us, assisting in setting up a visit to see an emergency doctor at the hospital. We were unable to get a parking space but there was a pay and display car park across the road which was £5 per 24 hours. We were in a sea view family room. The beds were very soft but ok. The room was clean but a bit tired in decor. The bathroom could have definitely used some care but it was functional. There was a large waredrobe in the room but limited surface space to put anything. The desk was taken up with the tea/coffee making equipment. On our last night the people above us were extremely loud (children running around sounded like they were going to come through the celling) until well after midnight. The reception staff were very quick to address this and our neighbours above were considerate and stopped the noise immediately. The food was average but good for the price you pay. The waiting staff were all amazing! They worked incredibly hard and always with a smile. The entertainment was a bit hit and miss. The first night was a good mix of music and comedy but the second night was more like watching someone sing karaoke for 45 minutes with no interaction with the crowd. Ben Belushi performed on our final night and I would rate his voice on par with acts Ive seen in professional west end shows. Such an incredible talent! The only downside would be accessibility with only having a very small lift and steep stairs, as well as the distance from the attractions. "
