The Space:
Spread out across a ground floor, The Cabin In The Woods is a glamour spot designed to give you peace and tranquillity. At the very front of The Cabin is its heart, the combined living and kitchen area. Here you will find the perfect space in which to relax yourself. With the living room equipped with a two seater sofa and a three seater corner sofa that are both pleasingly decked out with plush cushions, this gives you the wondrous chance to spread out and take in the wall-mounted flatscreen, equipped with Netflix that you are more than welcome to sign into and peruse at your leisure.

The Kitchen is a fresh and modern space, dominated by the centre island which can be the perfect dining space for a quick meal for two. You will also find it fully stocked with all appliances and amenities which you might require. An electric hob, oven, kettle, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, cutlery and dinnerware are all on offer for you to use throughout the duration of your stay. On top of this you may also make use of the ample dining table with room for six people so you can eat in style and gaze out onto the Cabin’s balcony and wonders that this country retreat offers.

There are also three bedrooms on offer, all of which are made up with the plushest bed linens and comfiest sheets and pillows; and their own TVs, with Netflix that you are more than able to sign-in to your own accounts on. The first bedroom contains a king-sized bed and has plenty of storage space on offer for you, as well as an ensuite equipped with a standing shower, WC and wash basin. The second room offers a double bed and can comfortably accommodate up to two guests, with a wardrobe that brings ample storage. Finally, the third bedroom brings with it twin beds and offers plenty of comfort, with its own wardrobe for storage for all your bits and bobs.

The family bathroom comes with a bath and shower, as well as a wash basin and WC, with two heated towel rails for your convenience.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are at the reception of the Ladycross Plantation Caravan & Lodge Park.

There is private parking available to the side of the lodge for up to 2 vehicles. Any additional cars can be parked in the site car park.

Please note that hen & stag parties are strictly prohibited at The Cabin In The Woods. If any such parties are found to be staying at the property they will be removed.

The Neighborhood:
If you’re looking for a relaxing break, you’ll get the best of both worlds when staying at Egton. This quaint village is perfect for walks and picnics. Head to Egton Bridge, Arncliffe Woods or the river where you can head over small stepping stones to the wooded island. If you’re looking to eat out or enjoy a quiet drink, there are two public houses in Egton - the Wheatsheaf and the Horseshoe.

Egton is located just six miles from the seaside town of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast. Popular for its Blue Flag West Cliff beach and promenade, the whole family can enjoy a day on the golden sands. Head to Pier Road, you’ll find fun arcades and plenty of fish restaurants where you can sample the catch of the day.

The other side of Whitby is full of narrow, medieval streets dotted with boutiques and pubs. Climb the famous 199 steps up to the Church of Saint Mary. You can also discover the renowned ruined Whitby Abbey, which was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s gothic novel ‘Dracula’.

Getting Around:
Egton has great rail and bus links to Whitby. Northern Rail operates a train to Whitby five times per day which is a short 22 minute journey. Whitby train station is in the centre of Whitby so villages and towns along the North Yorkshire coast can easily be reached via rail from here too.

Alternatively, you can hop on the Arriva North East bus service from Egton which travels three times a day.

By car the journey from Egton to Whitby takes approximately 12 minutes along the A171.

Stepping inside you have the most incredible open plan living area beneath a beamed ceiling. This stunning social space has a high-end kitchen with a wood topped island, as well as a sweeping dining table where you can all sit together. There is a cosy and peaceful snug area which also comes with the added luxury of a wood burner. As well as a large separate living room which has a second wood burner as well as two sumptuous sofas to relax on. The ground floor also has a boot room as well as a utility room, plus a toilet. The first bedroom is also on the ground floor, with a double bed.
Head up to the first floor of Lodge Hill to discover three further bedrooms, all of them have king beds and are tastefully furnished. These rooms share access to a gorgeous and spacious bathroom giving you the option of an elegant bath or a separate shower cubicle. Up on the second floor you have a further two bedrooms a twin as well as a double bedroom, both with ensuite showers. There is a snug area on the spacious landing, perfect for relaxing together in a smaller more intimate setting.

Perhaps in the summer months, you can spend your downtime out on the patio, which is bathed in sunshine. You can dine out here al fresco while taking in the stunning panoramic views. This is a very private location, where you can enjoy your holiday at your own pace. This is a fabulous area for exploring.
Egton nearby is a traditional Yorkshire village, with a choice of friendly local pubs serving hearty home cooked meals. Historic Whitby is 10 miles and Robin Hood’s Bay, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Staithes are all within an easy reach. Dalby Forest offers cycling and walking trails, as well as a zip line course through the treetops. You can hire a canoe or a rowing boat in Ruswarp to take in the sights along the river Esk. Grosmont is under 5 miles away, where you can catch a train on the Esk Valley Railway to Whitby or ride the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, with the heritage steam train taking you on a scenic journey from Whitby to Pickering, visiting beautiful little villages en route, including Goathland which was featured in Harry Potter films and the TV series ‘Heartbeat’. Take in the sights on walking trails at Falling Foss, with its waterfalls in the woodland; the Hole of Horcum, which is a huge valley popular with day trippers; the Cleveland Way walking trail winds its way across the moors and cliff tops, or the panorama from Roseberry Topping. The space
Our static caravan is two years old and is being let for the first time this year. It has gas central heating and hot water combined plus double glazing. We do not have Wi-Fi but we do have a strong 4g signal at the caravan.

When the grass is dry you can park next to the caravan, if it’s too wet signs will be up requesting you park in one of the on-site parking bays.

With one bedroom, a luxurious bathroom, a kitchen, living and dining area Valley View cabin is a romantic haven for couples. The outlook is totally private and it has a spacious terrace with chiminea and outdoor seating.

The space
In the North York Moors National Park, Valley View log cabin has an unrivalled situation with a totally private outlook. From the spacious terrace there is an unbroken view of the stream and valley beyond.

We have recently refurbished this cabin to offer luxury accommodation for couples. There is just one bedroom and a luxury bathroom.

Although Valley View is traditionally styled with a log burner, there is also central heating for total comfort . A newly fitted, good sized kitchenette has gas rings, a microwave and grill and a fridge freezer. There is a breakfast bar and a spacious seating/ relaxation area with TV and DVD player.

As well as the large terrace outside there is a covered area with fairy lights and benches.

All bedding and towels are provided.

There is generous parking for one car about 50 metres away (up a hill). The site is best suited to the able bodied.

Guest access
You have full use of the cabin and the woodland which surrounds it during your stay. This includes access to the stream and waterfall. There are two other cabins on site in separate areas of the woodland.

Other things to note
Parking on site is limited, and we only allow for one car per booking. If you really do need to bring a second car please inform us in advance and we will try to make arrangements.

We are off the beaten track and while the access is good it is not suitable for some low slung cars or nervous drivers.

Our site is a wildlife haven and we do everything we can to provide a safe environment for our birdlife in particular. For this reason we no longer advertise as dog friendly.

We are a secluded site, at the end of a single track road. Parking is at the top of the site with approach to the cabin down a slope via an all-weather wood chip path. The path is lit and night and there are steps with a handrail.
