- "Very modern clean rooms - surprising as it's in the old town. Restaurants are good. Their is a mosque very lose to the property which can get very noisy with calls to prayer. Also, the property should have spectacular views of the fort and does for certain rooms. Not sure why the architects didn't put a restaurant/bar on roof of tallest building. There is a bar on top of the restaurant but the views are blocked somewhat by other rooms on the property."

- "Excellent staff with great kindness from beginning to the end ! At reception Rajni was so professional and helped us plan our days and guided us through out. We could not see a single mood swings ! Wow 👌 Chef “Santos” prepared our dinner with excellent taste! He was very particular to ask if we wanted something else or we would like to have our half board differently prepared. He was genuinely open minded to satisfy us ! Sushma from Darjeeling working as waitress was just a wow ! She was sooo professional and at the same time very private with without crossing her profession! This girl will go very far in her career! The waiter (do not remember his name unfortunately but he was from Varanasi was sooo helpful and nice to us. His boy like cuteness made us fall for this guy. He totally went out of his way to help us out ! The only thing we were disappointed with was the water system was very poor and needs huge maintenance. We complained every day and they fixed it temporary but after a couple of hours same problems. Another we were not satisfied with is the poor WiFi why I couldn’t work as planned. Even the staff had issues with poor WiFi that much so they hardly were able to charge our credit cards without trying over and over again. "

The property is a former summer palace for Jodhpur Royalty. The suites are in the Lake Palace itself but we stayed in the more affordable 2 person rooms that apparently quartered soldiers in the past. These smaller bedrooms are beautifully furnished and comfortable. They are all on the ground floor and there is nature right outside - so expect a few bugs and ants. And Langurs hanging out on the outside. As a green haven in the midst of chaotic and honestly dirty Jodhpur this has to be expected. There are horse stables and foals on the vast grounds besides multiple animals including peacocks, langurs, herons, big big bats, we even saw a wild boar streak through the facility! Our children enjoyed the horse ride which cost Rs 1000 for 20 minutes. The place has so much undocumented history! There an old Shiva temple and step well besides numerous abandoned monuments that could tell a lot of stories if they could speak. The staff are courteous and the restaurant serves an eclectic menu although their Dal Makhani is famous throughout Jodhpur. If you love nature there is no better place to stay in Jodhpur."

- "This property is amazing. The building itself is one of the oldest Havelis in town, over 400 years old. It’s made of the beautiful red stone that gives Jodhpur such an amazing desert feel. The bedrooms are very comfortable with very pretty decor and lighting. The food was also outstanding and you can eat either on the rooftop with an amazing view of the blue part of the city and the fort or down on the ground floor with cute tables and little rooms to eat in. The food is Jain style, following strict vegetarian diet, but very tasty. The location of the hotel, which is wonderful, is also the difficult part. Do not try to take a car into the old town. We got stuck halfway to the hotel and had to turn around. Best to park in the new part of the city and take a rickshaw to the hotel. "

A big plus was Jaggi's Coffee cafe with excellent choice of filtered, esspresso, and cappucino." - "My partner and I stayed at Govind hotel over Christmas and it was one of the highlights of our trip. I booked the hotel after reading great reviews about the owner Jaggi and his son and they did not disappoint. Jaggi is extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming and was even able to hold our room and accommodate for us after we had to cancel a day last minute due to delays in plans. The hotel itself is located right near the train station so perfect for those travelling by train. It is also located on a strip of shops and only a 15 minute walk or short tuk tuk ride to the main city centre, so it is away from the hustle and bustle of the main city. The rooms are colourful and have a unique character to them, especially the courtyard/rooftop restaurant which has an amazing view of the fort. The rooms were clean with towels/toilet paper provided and there is wifi hot water in the morning and night. The only downside is that it can get noisy particularly at night due to the train or other guests in the hallway so if you are a light sleeper wear earplugs otherwise we had no issues. I also want to make special mention to Jaggis son who cooks at the rooftop restaurant upstairs- we didn’t eat anywhere else our whole time in jodhpur! The food is all made fresh and is absolutely beautiful. Some of our favourites were the pineapple lassi, paneer tikka pizza and the continental breakfast. - "This is a beautiful Haveli, which looks like a palace in a great location, just inside the city wall and very close to all the sights. However, the rooms themselves are very basic, very run down and not very clean. After they checked me in and gave me my room, they later told me I shouldn't be in an AC room and they would charge me extra. I refused, pointing out I was simply in the room they gave me. The clerk turned nasty, but in the end, backed down. The rooms need to be cleaned and decorated, being brought up to an acceptable standard. There were never towels in the room. I had to ask for them and ask for soap, shampoo etc. One night, there were no sheets on the bed! The breakfast is fine, but very basic. Just toast and a banana! It's reasonably priced and in a great location, but it really needs some attention. The power went out several times. Sometimes for very long periods."
