Situated on ten beautifully acres of curated Joshua Tree desert. The ranch occupies a 1967 20’ Camper that's been intrinsically remodeled + styled. You have the full 10 acres all to yourselves with no one around for miles. The camper features, two double sleeping arrangements adorned with wrap around windows to enjoy the desert scape and starry nights. Both a pool + outdoor shower to cool down and relax. Full kitchen + barbecue for cooking with table accommodations under the evening sky.

The space
You have FULL access to my 10 acre ranch to explore at your leisure which is completely private. This Airbnb is thé most private property in Joshua Tree. You have a full 360 degree view of the untouched Mojave Desert and all of it's magnificent landscape. Lil Shasta is equipped with a fridge 3.2 cu ft w/ freezer box, bedding + pillows, blankets, hand towel + body towels, fire pit, an indoor shower, as well as an outdoor shower, 6’ stock tank pool (which is open seasonally: April - Nov) and an indoor composting toilet.

Lil Shasta has a Joshua Tree Fresh Coffee beans + grinder and a pourover for making a perfect brew. Cell phone service on the mesa is good, the site is close to paved road and is very accessible. Please check the weather before your trip and dress appropriately as well as for sleeping. If you are one to be cold please bring extra blankets if you need. We are running purely off the solar from the sky at Rancho Lindo which is stored in our battery array. Water on the ranch is trucked in potable water and stored in our 2,875 gal tank which sits on the south - west corner of the property.

We have thought about everything, so you could let go + relax while taking in all the beauty that the Mojave Desert has to offer.

Guest access
Once you reach the ranch enter the gate and follow the signs to Lil' Shasta. You will find marked parking close to the camper. Please stay on the grated road in and around the ranch.

Other things to note
The Ranch is 10 min from downtown, 15 min from the entrance of the National park, 20 min from Pioneertown, and less than 10 min from the Integratron. Setting you up generally in the middle of everything and away from everyone. North Joshua Tree is one of the most desirable locations in area, come and see for yourself.

Mt. Nebo stands at 3200' and is a short/med walking distance away with 360 degree views looking over the hi-desert. It's a fun hike and a great place to watch the sunrise / sunset or little dinner date.

Firewood is currently out of stock at the ranch. Grab some firewood in town on your way in at some of our local stores.

BBQ charcoal is recommended to bring to the ranch, as some past guest leave some behind. I can not promise that were will be some there when you arrive.

On the edge of Joshua Tree National Park, where a forest of wild paloverde trees meets towering granite boulders, the Joshua Tree Retreat Center welcomes the first traditional premium hospitality offering in the area. The 14 suites, now known as The Bungalows, were designed and constructed in 1960 by the architect Harold Zook as accommodations for the site’s on-campus teachers. Located in the northwest corner of the center’s more than 130 acres of desert, The Bungalows still feature their original wood exteriors, while the interiors seem sun-bleached, with earthy jute and sea grass rugs, woven cane-backed chairs, and intricate millwork to evoke a bare-sand feel.

The spaces were redeveloped by the hospitality company Homestead Modern and restored in collaboration with the consulting designer Brad Dunning; as a nod to the work of the Swiss architect Albert Frey, the rooms are accented with yellow textiles the color of Encelia flowers, a hue popularized by Frey in his modernist structures in nearby Palm Springs.
