- "We loved this hotel. There was a superb buffet breakfast, a huge swimming pool with plenty of sunbeds leading straight onto the beach. The service was excellent ( just a shame they didn't understand English a little bit better, but they tried hard). We feared that the very high standards we found last time might have declined a bit, and we are always aware of revisiting places we've loved in case of disappointment second time around. However, we needn't have worried. It is as superb as ever. The care and attention of the ever-cheerful staff is unsurpassed and if anything it seemed even better organised than in 2008. It still doesn't seem to have been discovered by us Brits, but was mainly Scandinavians families. In fact, it struck us this time that it makes a great place for young families to stay - again the staff seemed particularly attentive in that respect. The in-hotel meals also seemed to us to have come down in price relatively (there were a bit pricey last time), but of course you can still eat more cheaply, and well, once you step out into the adjoining small town. All-in-all, we'd have no hesitation in going back again."

The area is quiet but has goo range of restaurants within a ten minute walk. The property looks like it has not yet recovered from the pandemic, and parts of it appear abandoned (including the beach access). Pros: Room: large, constantly clean, huge shower, bathroom door closes,(free soap, shampoo, shower gel, bath towels, pool towels, beach towels, bottled water all provided daily). Comfortable bed, pillows, bedding, strong aircon, decent size fridge, safe box in room. Food and drink: good food in resto, reasonable price. Good coffee bar, nice bar for drinks, pool table. Also great smoothie shop next door, fantastic smoothies and fresh fruit crepes, and hamburger shop next to that has good burgers and beers for cheap. Location: great, lots of food, drink, transportation, beach choices. Lots of bird sounds in morning, and the cicadas are singing morning and night😁. Hotel provides mostly great tour service providers👍(see Cons). Also laundry 40B per kg. Cons: only Con was when hotel provided driver and van for our hotel booked transportation from Lanta Pearl to Donsak Pier to take ferry to Ko Samui, the guy was surly and a complete ache-hole🙄. Conclusion: Fantastic stay, would highly recommend Lanta Pearl in all facets. Great bang for buck👍."

We got the breakfast included option and were treated to a wonderful buffet breakfast every morning which was a bonus. Short distance by taxi or tuk tuk to the walking street and other restaurants. My husband walked into town nearly everyday to visit some local food spots for lunch and enjoyed the walk. During our stay we booked 2 excursions through the hotel - an all day snorkeling excursion and an elephant sanctuary experience. Both were amazing!! Would recommend the elephant sanctuary to absolutely everyone. The beach was beautiful and the water was great. Barely anyone on the beach - very easy to find a chair or spread out a towel in the sun. It was jellyfish season, so there were a few washed up jellyfish on the sand but we were not afraid at all. My husband got lightly stung on his stomach but it went away within the day. If you are scared or have small children that would be scared maybe just be cautious. Night time there were a few sand flies - we all got bit quite a bit but we didn’t think to bring insect repellent so it was our fault. Still super nice!! "

The amenities overall were well maintained although the pool area wasn’t cleaned up well each night, rubbish was left poolside the next morning. The beach was stunning, plenty of places to eat and bars etc. Beautiful warm sea, white sand, gorgeous sunsets. The negatives, the check in/check out was impersonal and lacked welcoming, especially in comparison to the last accommodation we had stayed at. We had money go missing from our bag, left unlocked one morning when we went to breakfast. We usually padlocked our case each day and this particular morning we forgot. We had £100 in notes and when we arrived back from breakfast, only £70 remained. We immediately reported this to reception staff and they did nothing except to say we should have used the safe in the room. I stated this was avoided due to the fact the safes weren’t bolted in place. They had a camera right outside our room but no action was taken by the staff to rectify this. From this point on we felt very unsafe and specified that we wanted no-one to enter our room, including staff. The sun bed war is real!! We saw multiple arguments and even had one guy tell us we were on his sun loungers. Staff say they’ll remove other people’s towels if people are caught reserving them and we did witness this to be true "

Being a little back from the beach meant that we were sheltered from winds in this pre-monsoon season. It was very calm and relaxing, and the staff were very helpful but also respectful of privacy. We enjoyed walking into town, trying many different water-side restaurants, and seeing more of the area on boat trips and through hiring a car. The beach didn't have the surf recommended on surf websites, but a great back up turned out to be the resort pool, which was set amongst trees, a 'natural' green color, with crystal clear water. "

Only feedback would be on the check-in. There was no staff onsite when we arrived at 10.20pm. I've been to multiple hotels that aren't manned 24hrs, we would have been alerted beforehand and after hours check-in options provided (an area that Infinity needs to improve on). We did eventually manage to contact the staff (who then came on a scooter) via the Whatsapp number Expedia provided who helped checked us in."
