Breakfast superb with everything you could wish for - breads, eggs, meats, cheeses, fruit, juices, yoghurts, etc. The outside eating area is a must when eating breakfast as there is so much to watch passing by. It could perhaps do with some umberellas to give shade during hot weather. There is a lounge with free internet access and a good supply of paperbacks - not that you will have time to read! We would definitely recommend this hotel as the location is perfect, away from the madding crowds, yet also near to a lovely park area - all so beautiful. You could just spend all day watching the activities on board the superyachts parked outside, which are fascinating in themselves!"

- "Good location, if you get the waterbus ticket for 24/48 hours you can just hop on and off whenever and to any location. It is around €9 euros from the rialto to lido on the waterbus and if you are heading back to the airport you will need to get the waterbus aligiaro not the ACTV. It is easy enough about an hour journey and the platform is by the other Lido water platforms. Make sure you pre book a ticket or you can’t get on the waterbus to the airport as they check both ways. The ticket machine didn’t work for us so we had to do it online. The hotel were very kind and left us a breakfast bag as we left around 6am! The view from the restaurant is amazing and the breakfast options are premium. We had refills of tea bags and milk when asked at reception too. "

The waterbuses running very frequently into Venice (7.5 euros for a single journey but you can buy day passes or longer) - if you want a a tour of the Grand Canel - catch the #1 bus as it travels the full length of the Grand Canel to Piazza Roma."

A decent restaurant next door, a cash point just over the way and a small convenience store just up the Via de Garibaldi which was great to stock up on water for the day. - "Corte Contarina is a comfortable hotel in an excellent location if you're in town for the Biennale - just off the lively Via Garibaldi but super quiet and far from the crowds of tourists. The Arsenale is minutes away and the Giardini aren't much farther afield. There is also a Coop and a pharmacy minutes away for any last-minute needs, plus a gelateria that stays open late! Room was very clean and staff was helpful and clear. I only wish breakfast had been a bit nicer, and didn't love needing to sign up for a time slot (which sometimes filled up!) the night before."

There was one thing that would have made it perfect, and that was the provision of a kettle and a couple of cups. When checking out, we discussed this with the manager, who told us that she provides kettles and cups upon request. Perhaps guests should be advised of that option. Otherwise, it was an extremely satisfying stay at the Sorriso for two quite elderly people. Thank you."
