Personally, the pillows were a little stiff for my liking but I usually find all hotel pillows to be either too soft or too stiff. The in-unit AC works really well and it's easy to control. Water pressure is also on the lighter side but didn't really affect showering. Rooms are also not super well sound proofed so it's easy to hear people walking around the halls but you can't really hear between rooms. The hotel is still undergoing some renovations so it's not as pretty and refined as some high end hotels but I wouldn't mind coming back for another stay next time I'm in the area."

This is a boutique hotel so it has multiple entrances and exits for guest safety. Please use the new wooden staircase (on the left side of the building if looking at it from the street) for your main entrance and exit. Currently, the first floor (not basement/ground level) is the only operational part of the hotel as the top floor is undergoing renovations. Each room is labeled in the hallway. To access your room please tap the smart lock until it lights up. Once lit, type in your personal code (texted to you) ending with the # button. After entering your room, the door will lock automatically within 5 seconds.

The River Inn was built in 1725 . In 1947, the property was converted into a marina and the Inn served as the owner's private residence. In 2012, the house was restored to preserve its original charm while providing modern amenities. It is for the traveler that wants to take a step back in time to explore old New England. Ceilings on the second floor are low and the bathrooms have old fashioned claw foot tubs. All rooms have private baths, air conditioning, memory foam mattresses and TVS.
