Welcome to ‘The Blue Vistas’, our summer vacation cottage nestled in the picturesque seaside Village of Humarock in Scituate, Massachusetts! Enjoy leisurely mornings on the Oceanside deck watching the sunrise over Cape Cod Bay listening to the sounds of sea and land birds as you sip your morning coffee. Equally delightful is enjoying the sunset on the Riverside Deck while you cook your dinner on the grill! Later, return to the Oceanside deck while you enjoy a refreshing beverage as you admire the beautiful ocean view. From the inside, there are views, views, views from every main room so you can admire the calming blue beauty of the ocean and river from virtually any vantage point!

In less than a 15 second walk you are on the private beach! Our spacious ranch-style cottage is in a fantastic quiet residential neighborhood and can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people with parking for up to six cars. Outside, the large sunny Riverside Deck has unobstructed views of the South River and has a patio table with eight chairs which is great for outside dining, two lounge chairs for sunning and a gas propane grill. The over-sized Oceanside Deck with unimpeded oceanfront views has plenty of outdoor furniture for relaxing and catching a nice ocean breeze! After enjoying a day at the beach, use the outside shower with hot and cold water under the Riverside Deck to rinse off. There is also plenty of room under this deck to store your beach chairs, coolers, kayak, surfboard, bikes, fishing gear, etc.

Inside the spacious open floor plan is light and bright. There are four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the necessities you will need including a Keurig machine. The large table off the kitchen seats eight-ten and is perfect for dining and playing family games! In the living room enjoy the clear ocean views through three six-foot sliders from the comfort of the sectional couch while hanging out or watching TV. Just off the living room are two bedrooms--one with a king-sized bed and the other has two twin beds. In the Lower Level you will find the two additional bedrooms--one with two twin trundle beds and the other has a full sized bed--and a laundry area with washer/dryer. Central air conditioning and box fans are available. All the bedding, bath towels and beach towels as well as the cable TV and Wi-Fi are provided upon your stay at no additional charge. Also available is a Pack & Play with mattress and sheets as well as an infant dining Booster Seat.

Take a break mid-afternoon and walk or take a bike ride to the main village about a mile away to buy an ice cream or a coffee, visit Humming Rock Gifts to purchase a souvenir, purchase fresh seafood just “off the boat” or supplies at the general store, or enjoy a meal at a local restaurant. Bring a basketball with you to use the public basketball court along the South River next to the fire station. Venture further north from main village at the public beach, about another mile, to Fourth Cliff and at low tide find some starfish and snails! With our summer cottage as your home base, you have many other tourist options as we are centrally located between Boston and Plymouth. Locally you have quick access to grocery stores, shopping and many restaurants in both Marshfield and Pembroke.

The Blue Vistas can be your oasis of calm after a busy day full of events, sights and the beach! Come stay for a long weekend, a week or two or even for a month-long respite in this little slice of Humarock heaven!

Off-Season Information: Off-season for the Blue Vistas generally starts November 15 - April 30 with discounted nightly rates (as noted on the calendar) and a minimum two-night stay is required. During the off-season, please take note that direct ocean and river views may be somewhat obstructed due to the annual installation of beveled Lexacon storm shutters on all the sliding glass doors and two bedroom windows. In addition, during that time, there will not be any furniture, grill or table fire pit available on the decks. The removal of the storm shutters and replacement of the deck furniture and grill will be dependent upon the weather between April 15 - May 1.

This was the most fully stocked vacation rental I have ever been in ... beach towels, beach chairs, laundry detergent, plastic kitchen wrap, DW detergent, etc. I could go on and on. It is also set up well for small children. There were night lights throughout the house as well as a basket of toys. The location was perfect. My favorite part was listening to the waves crash on the beach as I lay in bed. I would definitely recommend Blue Vistas!"

The best feature is walking to a private beach less than 50 yards away. It has a back deck and outdoor shower to rinse off and then unwind.. The front has a seating area to enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon shade. If you enjoy fishing , the river is down the street ,less than 50 yards away. It is a quaint New England cottage.

The Cottage is located on a private road that leads directly to the seawall and a 3 mile beach. It is seven cottages away from the seawall and the beach. Built in 1924, it is an original, "Legacy Cottage" complete with original wood beams, panelling and hard wood flooring. Cozy, and charming, it has 4 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath plus outside, private shower and huge side lot. Sleeps 7 : King size bed, two full size beds and one single bed. Located in Marshfield MA, the seaside town is 25 miles south of Boston, and 12 miles north of historic Plymouth, MA. Great outside shower and thissummer cottage is steps away, a five minute walk up the private road to beautiful Fieldston Beach. The cottage features original 1924 woodwork, including wood paneling and beams and two original iron bed frames! Original oak hardwood floors glisten! A lovely fireplace beckons! Reading nooks, private back deck and lovely front summer porch are perfect spots to relax. It also features a huge, enclosed side yard. The cottage has a washer, dryer, gas stove and outdoor grill. Play in the huge yard, entertain on the private back deck and just sit on lovely front porch and catch the summer breezes. This is the third season of having guests this beloved legacy cottage. Come to our 1924 cottage by the sea and forget all of your troubles and just enjoy life the way it should be!

Humarock Beach is a picturesque seaside village of Scituate, MA, surrounded by water and situated on Cape Cod Bay midway between Boston and Plymouth. This particular Ocean Drive neighborhood has always been our favorite spot on the Humarock peninsula. "Shore Bet" beach cottage is located about 150 yards from private Humarock Beach, and the same distance to the South River. It's also a short walk to the village center, and steps from the gorgeous sand dunes with protected wildlife and trails to fully take in where marsh meets sea. A few of our favorite activities are kayaking, paddleboarding, and striper fishing in the ocean and in the South River. For fishing, we surf cast, drop off the bridge, or fish from our kayaks. For the younger kids, it's beach and more beach... then a short walk to the center for some ice cream or other eats. Walk the opposite direction on the beach and enjoy low tide at "The Rocks" where the kids love the tidepools with fish, crabs, snails, starfish and other creatures. Families can enjoy their favorite food and beverages on the beach with plenty of space for corn hole, bocce, frisbee, building castles, looking for rocks and seaglass, and more.

Humarock is a peninsula (some call it an island), accessible from Scituate by boat or from Marshfield by bridge.

Plymouth Rock is approximately 20 minutes away - Boston is under an hour! The cottage is close to wonderful restaurants, some walkable, others a quick drive away. A small gorcery store is also near by. We had a magical week and plan on booking this cottage again!"

A sweet little cottage right on Cut River and across the street from Burke's Beach. This cottage was built for my grandmother in the 1940's but has been well updated and maintained. It has stayed in the family and has been lovingly cared for by family members.

High tide brings the ocean down the river to your back door where your children can swim, float or kayak and still be within your sight while seated on the back porch or lawn swing. The resident - only beach is only a few minutes walk from the cottage, so close you can hear the surf and feel the breeze.
There are 3 newly renovated bedrooms upstairs, two porches, a living room, with two couches and a recliner, kitchen/dining room and full bath downstairs. Three kayaks are available to use. Plenty of relaxing nooks to read or nap - benches, futon, couches, a hammock, and a very comfy lawn swing. Fully equipped kitchen, with microwave, stove, oven, flat screen television and internet service.

Please note that you will need to bring your own sheets and towels. There are only pillows and comforters on the beds.

The 2025 calendar year shows all weeks blocked at this time. This property has a resilient group of repeat vacationers that get first dibs on “their” week(s). These vacationers will have until January 31, 2025 to make their wishes known and to produce a deposit to secure their time at the beach. Any available weeks will be made known on February 7, 2025. Stop back then and see if there is something that will work for you!

This bungalow is a short 3 minute walk to the sandy shores of Rexhame Beach. The home is located on a dead-end terrace and only three steps separate the ground level from the floor level, making this property suitable for children and seniors alike. The property was recently remodeled with many updated conveniences added, yet the home maintains the feel of a beach cottage from years ago!

We prefer to rent full weeks that start and end on Saturdays! You may ask about availability of renting half-weeks, but they will conform to the following format:
FRONT HALF: Arrive Saturday at 2:00 p.m depart Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
BACK HALF: Arrive Wednesday at 9:00 a.m depart Saturday at 10:00 p.m.

The home can comfortably accommodate four people. There is room to park up to five cars off-road. You can beach-walk up to six miles starting on Rexhame Beach; going north to the mouth of the North River in Scituate or south to Bluefish Cove and the entrance to Green Harbor. Surf cast for keepers right from the beach to the east, or play with the schoolies in the South River Estuary to the west. Skim board at low tide, while boogie boarding and surfing are Rexhame favorites, waves permitting! Launch your own boat or rent a charter boat out of Green Harbor. Fabulous restaurants abound but particularly in and around Brant Rock.

- "We came up to Massachusetts for a large family reunion, but wanted a quiet place aL our own. This charming cottage in Marshfield was absolutely perfect. The host was very responsive and friendly, everything was clean and well-maintained, and it was the perfect amount of space for our small family. The small kitchen had everything we needed, window units easily handled the summer heat, and the location was quiet but within easy distance of everything we had planned. 10/10 would recommend."

Your family will be very close to all Marshfield's beaches and Humarock when you stay at this centrally-located place. The house is on Plymouth Ave at a short walking distance to Sunrise Beach (which is at the end of 9th road only half a mile away, super quiet and beautiful beach!) and right in the middle between Rexhame Beach and Duxbury Beach/ or our beautiful Green Habor with a lot of nearby restaurants, spas, tennis courts, playground, gift shops all around in walking distance, and only 3 miles to Star Market and the heart of Marshfield. The house has well equipped with ductless AC for central living/ dining area (chill out your hot summer!), window AC for each bedroom, coffee station, all basic conveniences and a comfortable work station if you WFH.

The property has just been updated with a patio with basic outdoor furniture and a propane grill for your BBQ summer!

We don’t provide washer and dryer for now; however there are 2 laundromats only 1 mile down the street.

The space
The bungalow is a perfect beach space. Deceivingly small from the street; inside there is a galley living and kitchen with a lofted bed space above the kitchen. High ceilings in the front area of the house adorn fans, recess lighting and speakers, underneath is a couch and two chairs in front of TV with basic cable and Netflix option. A series of used books great for reading at the beach are in the corner behind the door. No stairs are necessary to use the two bedrooms on either side of the bathroom. The kitchen has all that you need to cook and enjoy your meals and save some for later. A small washer and dryer are in the back corner of the kitchen area for quick and small loads of laundry. Two doors off the kitchen space lead out to a small patio with plenty of chairs for relaxing and a table with umbrella should you choose to enjoy eating outside. Off the left of the patio is the "bunk house". The bunk house is about the size of a shed, completely insulated with a full size bed, lighting, a/c and heating unit, and a small stand to place any belongings. Here we also store our kayak paddles. Kayaks are available to use upon request (a secondary waiver is required to use these). Off the right of the patio are three kayaks. Around the corner you will find our gas grill and outdoor shower. Additional beach equipment, beach toys, cooler, chairs and umbrellas can be found in the bins on the sides of the house.

We are by the Marshfield / Scituate line so you are a short drive from a ton of restaurants and activities! We will send details for check-in day of or 24 hours in advance. We have a code to access the house and prefer to provide that closer to the time of check-in. The cottage is older at the core so there are some quirks but none that should greatly impact your stay. Again, we note everything in our House Rules manual and beforehand!

Our Ocean Dr. beach cottage is just a short walk to a private stretch of Humarock Beach and situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the South River. Perfect for a relaxing family getaway, featuring miles of beach, outdoor recreation, water sports, fishing (both shore & river), gorgeous marshland, and shops and restaurants all close by.

The space
Our 1,620 square foot, two-story beach cottage features an open, bright first floor with kitchen/living room, full bath, spare bedroom, and additional back den / living room.

Upstairs includes a large master bedroom with slider/balcony and river view, a bunk room that sleeps 2, and a full bath both rooms can share (there are two doors so you can lock it from the master if needed :).

The cottage includes large decks directly off both front and rear patio sliders, an outdoor shower, views of the South River, and a great beach location offering space for activities and/or privacy.

The space
This historic vacation home was built from 1922 through 1927 from salvaged ship parts. Seven woods make up the first floor, and a gem-filled shell design is set into penny-round ceramic decorating the bathroom floor.
The living room chairs are soft and comfy, and there's a screened-in front porch with wicker furniture for enjoying night breezes and sounds.
The downstairs bedroom has a double bed. Upstairs there are 2 beds, a twin and a double. Feather pillows and soft cotton blankets and sheets make sleeping heavenly.
The Speed Queen washer and dryer are in the basement with detergent & dryer sheets.
This page of history is the only structure on the street to survive the September 1938 Great New England Hurricane and Long Island Express, one of the most deadly and destructive cyclones ever to hit the coast.
Framed between pieces of glass on the walls are interesting pages of 1927 newspaper that the original builder used as insulation around the oversized 6' x 3' windows. Just switch on the picture light over each sheet and read at your leisure. The frame then can be flipped to see the other side.
The kitchen has an old-fashioned 42" cast iron farmer's sink, complete with a Boraxo soap dispenser for hand washing. Electric stove/oven.
The original 1922 owner/builder was bachelor Captain Charles W Keene who until his passing on April 15, 1948, called his home "Sea Breeze," and the neighborhood "White's Ferry." Charles's father Martin worked at the Charlestown Navy Yard, and his grandfather was the infamous landowner and shipbuilder Benjamin Keene. Charles's grandmother was Suzanna Church.
