They also had a lot of practical things there for us to use like toiletries, trash bags, paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher pods, etc which was so helpful. The front desk staff was super nice. There is a pool, DVD/board game library, and much more. We honestly didn't didnt use much of those extras but it was nice to have them there. We left my toddlers prize bunny there somehow by mistake and the front desk called us right away and held it for us until we could come grab it. All in all, it was such a nice stay. Yes, some of the furniture is a little out dated, but we were so happy we didnt care one bit! It had absolutely everything that we needed. It was also in a really great location with less than a 10 minute drive to food, the childrens museum and a beach."

Disadvantages: has a cabin type smell, right off a very busy road/not walkable area, loud road and train noise (high speed train directly out the backyard area), sparsely furnished (no actual kitchen table), no living room coffee table, deck and backyard totally unusable/rundown. Deck needed some major power washing. No usable outdoor furniture. Very steep stairs to upper bedroom, some mold in upstairs shower. Upstairs shower leaked into downstairs bedroom ceiling. Provided 2 sets of towels for 3 people to stay for 3 nights. Shower supplies for 1 of 2 showers. Towel situation was remedied after communicating with owner. No dishwasher but also difficult to hand wash dishes…no sink stopper or dishcloths, 1 hand towel provided. Kitchen set up not conducive to really meal prep or eat a meal in the limited furnishings. Quite disappointed in our choice to stay here. "

Oyster Isle is located in a small cottage condominium community. Once you walk out your doors and across the street you will find beautiful Haigas Beach. Come back to the cottage at any point during the day to cool off in the AC, freshen up in the outdoor shower or make a quick lunch.

Oyster Isle is close to so many family activities, shops downtown and some of our favorite restaurants on Cape; The Ocean House & The Pelham House. Be sure to check out the beautiful sunsets off the shore of the Nantucket Sound upon returning.

We have a full kitchen equipped all the supplies you would need (cutlery, utensils, pots/pans, etc.) as well as a microwave, refrigerator, gas stove, dishwasher, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, dining table that seats 2.

Queen size bed. Toiletries & linens are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.

The cottage is located in a small 10 unit condo community called Hurricane Pines. Oyster Isle amenities include one parking spot, grill, outdoor shower, and patio usage in the front and back of the cottage.

There is no wheelchair accessibility or handicap entry due to the step up to get into the unit.

No beach bonfires. Our fire place inside is non-operational. Please do not light any fires there either.

Sunny cottage located about 1/8 of a
Mile walking distance to the Mill pond. The location is very peaceful and quiet. Great area for walking around the Mill Pond (salt water) and Rodgers cove. The cottage is about a mile from Nauset beach for big waves, and all the excitement of the beach! It’s about 2.5 miles to Skaket beach. It’s also a mile or so to Crystal Lake. When the surf is up you can hear it from the cottage! Newly renovated bathroom this year and many new windows as well.

The space
The home has a deck in the front for relaxing on as well as dining. We also have an outdoor shower and a laundry room in the back. There is a semiprivate walk down seaview road and a path leading to Rogers Cove. Guests may use the path and its great for walking around the cove. There is also a nature walk just about two meters from our driveway entrance. Its off to the right as you enter the a Mill Pond road at the fork where Champlaine road ends. Its a loop and is about a mile in length. The cottage is small with one bathroom so keep this in mind if you have a larger group.

There is a grassy knoll to the left of our house. You may lay a blanket down here and check out the stars at night. at night you may be able to hear the surf from the cottage as well. It can be quite romantic. We also leave two charcoal grills behind the house. They may be used on the grassy knoll, but please return them behind the house after they cool back down

Other things to note
There’s an outdoor shower and a laundry room attached to the back of the house that guests are welcome to use. Each room has adjustable heating and cooling with remote controlled ductless Mini Split system. The area is somewhat private with a few houses close by. Noise from houses nearby has never been an issue. Usually the area is very peaceful and very quiet. Guests and neighbors are expected to maintain peace and quiet especially at night.

Everyone is enjoying each other’s company while relaxing in the hammock and sitting around the deck watching the friendly competition going on in the bocce court, or the crazy game of badminton happening at the nets. See what is growing in the guests garden this year or take out one of the kayaks and paddle around the bay. You take a deep breath and breathe in that salty Cape air, breathing out the tensions and feeling the stress leave you like the tides. Splashing around on the flats at low tide will keep the kids entertained for hours as well.

The two-bedroom cottage has all the creature comforts. The first bedroom has a comfortable full bed for two. The second bedroom houses a bunk bed consisting of two single beds and the sunroom has a trundle bed that pulls out into two more beds. Like most daybeds, the trundle may not be the most comfortable for a full-sized man of six feet tall and 250 lbs., but one or two smaller adults, teens, or children that fit in a normal twin bed would be just fine.

The full-sized kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal but even so, who wants to cook when you are in one of the best vacation areas on Cape Cod? Each reservation comes with an award-winning guide to the best local’s insider tips and places to go, things to do, and places to see. You will also be staying close to Wiley Park and Great Pond, some of the greatest freshwater kettle ponds on the Cape. Crisp is one of our favorite places to eat, or just grab a drink! End each night with a fire in our outdoor fire pit surrounded by a newly re-landscaped garden and fully fenced-in yard. Guests will have access to all of the Town of Barnstable Beaches with a Beach Pass that comes with the rental. We also have a good sized backyard and private neighborhood. It is rare to find a house in town on a private street with such proximity to beaches, parks, restaurants and shops.

Joshua pond is within walking distance and is a great place to bring young kids to swim. There are pretty trails to walk by the pond as well!
