- "It was a beautiful cottage in a quiet quaint neighborhood!! We could walk to the beach down a peaceful street in a lovely landscaped neighborhood. It was close enough to stores and restaurants but not close enough for the traffic to be intrusive. We felt completely safe. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. - "Our family of 3 very much enjoyed our week-long stay at this beautifully designed and exceptionally clean and cozy home. We loved the unique and thoughtful touches through the house — yoga mats, candles, twinkle lights, etc. The property was just as the title suggests - a peaceful sanctuary. We enjoyed quiet relaxation with beautiful marsh views and the gentle tones of a wind chime. There was also an expansive wrap around deck for outdoor dining, sunbathing, and stargazing. We also loved walking 10-15 minutes to a private section of the expansive Nauset Beach just for the neighborhood. In the home, we were provided with plenty of bath and beach towels, as well as bar soap, shampoo/conditioner, floss, Q-tips etc. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the supplies one might need, including plenty of teas and complimentary coffee for the Keurig. The house had three bedrooms, one of which was a cute lofted bedroom (though no door for complete privacy). The beds and pillows were all spacious and comfortable. Overall, highly recommend this property and would love to stay again."

Our cottage was originally built in 1941 and has been completely and lovingly restored with vintage white beadboard ceilings, shiplap walls and classic built-ins and has been furnished with everything you need for a memorable Cape Cod vacation.

Our three bedrooms each have a unique and personal character. The master suite has vaulted shiplap ceiling, queen brass bed, cable TV, large ceiling fan, large, walk-in closet and a private and cheery master bath with privacy wall and soaking tub.

There is a second bedroom with an antique double bed and large dresser for storage off the main living area and a third bedroom with a classic vaulted beadboard ceiling, exposed rafters, twin beds, antique transom window and two large windows that open onto the screened porch.

There is also a wonderful, custom built outdoor shower for getting clean after a day at the beach!

Our location is within walking distance to East Orleans village, where you can find fresh brewed coffee and amazing muffins in the morning and to Sundae School for ice cream at night. Nauset Beach is just two miles away and you can easily bike into Orleans to access the Cape Cod Rail Trail or for shopping or to try out the many great restaurants.

Summer rentals are a minimum of 7 days, Saturday to Saturday.

Bedspreads, blankets and pillows are provided, however bedsheets and towels are not included, except by special arrangement for an additional fee.

We do not have a washer and dryer, but there is a laundromat if needed 5 minutes away.

I love to swim, so the bonus was Meeting House Pond down the road- basically a boat launch and salt water- not fancy beach but warmish water. If you have a canoe or kayak you should bring it! The space
Very cute King bedroom studio cottage. smallest and cutest bathroom ever, and a small galley kitchen, plenty of room to make morning coffee, prepare breakfast, or cook dinner. 350yd walk to Areys Pond, deeded access via private path. Walk around back for access to full laundry in the basement.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the cottage and access to Arey’s Pond. The property has another rental, a 3 BR antique home that can be rented with the cottage or separately. Both units have privacy and are separated by a new board fence. There are some common areas outdoors as well. Cottage has a beautiful new outdoor shower as well. There is a separate private yard at the cottage with a firepit, grill, and plenty of room outside to sit and relax!! The path to Arey’s Pond is between 350 and 400 yds long from the house to the water’s edge. It is not a beach per se but does allow direct saltwater access for boating, paddle boarding and kayaking. The owners live nearby and have a boat and a mooring so there may be a possibility to arrange a boat ride if you’d like to see the area from the water. Feel free to reach out and ask questions!
Other things to note
There is a very friendly yellow lab at the neighboring property, and he may stop by to say “hello”! Please let us know if you do not want to see him.

Please note that the downstairs bedroom is quite small featuring two twin beds (only) that can be converted into a king if needed; however, it is important to mention that there is not a separate king bed and two twin beds. The downstairs bedroom is cozy, making it a snug retreat after a day of exploration.

We are also dog-friendly and would be happy to consider your furry companions, as we love dogs! This topic is open for discussion. Our little family resides full-time in the "barn" at the back of the property, along with our adorable dog, Charlie girl, who adds to the warm, welcoming atmosphere to our home.

Cozy cottage in a great location opposite Nauset Farm Shop, close to Nauset Beach, and walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Our cottage retreat boasts a cozy lounge, stylish kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private patio area, barbeque and an outside shower. The recently refitted kitchen, has Bosch stainless steel appliances, a keurig coffee machine, a flat screen TV with ROKU and HULU, and guests can enjoy outdoor dining on the patio. The third bedroom is located off the rear patiodoes not have ensuite facilities, but is just 6 feet from the rear entrance to the cottage and full downstairs bathroom. It's a large room with a queen bed, with a cozy lounge and TV, with French doors out onto the patio.
As a completely self contained cottage, breakfasts at the Inn are not included in the rentals.

We are located in a quiet grove off the main road. Our spacious and private yard routinely hosts turkey and deer. We are 8 minutes from the grocery store and downtown Orleans. There are abundant dining and take out choices in town year round. Try Sir Crickets, CIBO or the Knack for amazing take out! Conservation land and the Town Cove (follow Gibson Rd) are within walking distance.

Guest access
You have the whole cottage to yourself. Parking is in a driveway in front of our shed. The yard is very private and peaceful.

It has two bedrooms and a large and sunny open living area with full kitchen, dining space, and sitting area. Large deck with grill is perfect for outdoor dining or enjoying the sun in nice weather. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).

The space
Cottage is quiet and secluded, but still close to town. One bedroom has a queen bed, the second has a twin and pop-up trundle (the photos show this bedroom with the trundle set up). There is also a full sofa bed in the living room.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the whole cottage, including a private yard and large deck.

Other things to note
Pillows, bedspreads and blankets are provided. Linens and towels are not included.

From mid-June to mid-September, cottage is available only as a Sat-Sat rental, unless special arrangements are made.

Sunny cottage located about 1/8 of a
Mile walking distance to the Mill pond. The location is very peaceful and quiet. Great area for walking around the Mill Pond (salt water) and Rodgers cove. The cottage is about a mile from Nauset beach for big waves, and all the excitement of the beach! It’s about 2.5 miles to Skaket beach. It’s also a mile or so to Crystal Lake. When the surf is up you can hear it from the cottage! Newly renovated bathroom this year and many new windows as well.

The space
The home has a deck in the front for relaxing on as well as dining. We also have an outdoor shower and a laundry room in the back. There is a semiprivate walk down seaview road and a path leading to Rogers Cove. Guests may use the path and its great for walking around the cove. There is also a nature walk just about two meters from our driveway entrance. Its off to the right as you enter the a Mill Pond road at the fork where Champlaine road ends. Its a loop and is about a mile in length. The cottage is small with one bathroom so keep this in mind if you have a larger group.

There is a grassy knoll to the left of our house. You may lay a blanket down here and check out the stars at night. at night you may be able to hear the surf from the cottage as well. It can be quite romantic. We also leave two charcoal grills behind the house. They may be used on the grassy knoll, but please return them behind the house after they cool back down

Other things to note
There’s an outdoor shower and a laundry room attached to the back of the house that guests are welcome to use. Each room has adjustable heating and cooling with remote controlled ductless Mini Split system. The area is somewhat private with a few houses close by. Noise from houses nearby has never been an issue. Usually the area is very peaceful and very quiet. Guests and neighbors are expected to maintain peace and quiet especially at night.

The space
Our cottage is a wonderfully updated 3-bedroom, 1 bathroom Cape surrounded by beautiful landscaping in a small cottage community. Open, airy, and a cozy 692 square feet, it can comfortably accommodate up to 6 people (Max 5 adults).

The home includes memory foam mattresses and pillows, outdoor furniture, propane grill, & propane fire pit.

PLEASE NOTE all bookings include linens and bath towels. All linens will be located in a plastic tub upon arrival with guests making their own beds. Also, we will provide pillows; soap, basic cleaning supplies, paper towels and toilet paper to get you started...you just need to bring your own beach towels and flip flops!

The kitchen was renovated in 2022 and is stocked with everything you need to stay in and cook (pots, pans, utensils, tableware) - as well as a propane grill for our comfortable Cape Cod Nights. If going out is your thing, we’d love to suggest some local favorite restaurants a short drive away.

Enjoy your coffee or cocktails on the large outside deck or dine al fresco with your family and friends. Our comfortable patio furniture is a perfect place to start or end your day.

If you prefer sitting by a fire, you will enjoy the propane fire pit and chairs on the front porch area.

The bathroom is updated with a spacious glass tile shower, soap, shampoo & conditioner. (Please note: there is no tub)

Our cottage is equipped with Wi-Fi, indoor board games & outdoor cornhole, a record player, and a 50 inch Roku TV where you'll be able to stay caught up with your Netflix bingeing. Just bring your password!

After a nice long day at one of the many beaches nearby, rinse off in our private outdoor shower. Beach chairs are available for your convenience.

You will be comfortable with our mini-split A/C system (2022) in the summer, and central heat for those cool summer or fall nights. All new windows installed (2025).

A full-size washer and dryer (new in 2022) are available during your stay.

*To maintain a secure premises, the cottage is equipped with three exterior cameras (front/back doors & grill side). The cameras are ONLY on the exterior, and there are no cameras on the inside.

*During the months of June-August this is a *7 day rental* (Friday to Friday). Check-in is after 4 pm, and Check-out is 10 am.
*Since our cottage is located near the other cottages in the community, we ask you to be respectful of others and keep noise to a minimum after 9 pm.
*Due to additional cleaning & sanitizing requirements between guests, linens will be provided with guests making their own beds, and stripping the beds and putting back into the plastic tub upon departure.

Escape to this 1 bedroom cottage on a private country compound hidden in conservation land- 1.5 miles from Nauset Beach, 1.5 miles from downtown Orleans. This 750 sq ft two-story cottage provides all the amenities necessary for a couple or small family (2 adults with 2 children - 2 adults max, 4 w/ children as it is a 1 BR with no privacy barrier) including linens. ONE parking space max. Bathroom is located on first floor. No pets or 3rd party bookings.

The space
This 1 BR house is part of an estate compound, with ample distance from the main house to offer privacy. Please note, ONE PARKING SPACE dedicated to guests. Guests have the entire southeastern-facing cottage and deck to themselves that does not directly face the main house. There is a king bed and a twin daybed with pop up twin trundle in the bedroom. Decor subject to updates. This cottage is perfect for a couple get away or a family of four but not four individuals just getting together as there is only one bedroom total.
I have dogs and a fenced yard where they play. There are also dogs in the neighborhood.

Cleaning fee includes fresh linens and towels supplied for the number of guests (a savings of $200 per week for guests). Guest is responsible for lost or damaged items at the replacement cost of two for each item damage or lost whether linens or towels. Replacement of linens requires purchase of complete sets. Washcloths are not provided.

While a fireplace is seen in the pics, it is not in service at this time. Inside and outside decor may change based on rental damage/use. There is a private garden shed beside the cottage with lobster pots, surfboards, beach chairs, etc that may be viewed from the deck.

The driveway is 250 feet long from the street. We live next to a renowned lobsterman and you will see his traps on the drive up to the property- this is a glimpse of life on Cape Cod.

A child is defined as any person under the age of 18. The maximum number of guests for Distiller's Cottage is 4 including children and adults.

In the event Guests wish to terminate this agreement, Travel Insurance, Damage Protection and any processing or administrative fees are non-refundable.

No refunds will be provided due to inoperable appliances or utilities. Owner will make every effort to assure such appliances will be and remain in good working order. No refunds will be given due to power blackouts, water shortage, flooding, snow, construction at adjacent properties, or mandatory evacuations of the area by county officials due to hurricanes or other potentially dangerous situations arising from acts of god or nature.

Guest is responsible for all shipping costs for any Lost and Found items that Owner is requested to return to Guest. Items found and not claimed within 30 days will be disposed at the discretion of Owner.

In the event Owner is unable to make Rental Property available for any reason other than described above or a reasonable substitute as determined by Owner, Guest agrees that Owner's sole liability as a result of this unavailability is to provide a full refund of all monies paid under this Agreement and Guest expressly acknowledges that in no event shall Owner be held liable for any special or consequential damages which result from this unavailability. Guest also agrees to indemnify Owner from and against liability for injury to Guest or any other person occupying Rental Property result from any cause whatsoever including, but not limited to, injury sustained as a result of using any equipment or furniture in or on the Rental Property, except only such a personal injury caused by the gross negligence or intentional acts of the Owner.

Owner may terminate this agreement upon the breach of any of the terms hereof by Guest. Guest shall not be entitled to the return of any rental monies paid under the terms of this Agreement and shall vacate the Property immediately.

Agreement shall be enforced under the laws of the state of Massachusetts, including any applicable rental acts of that state, and represents the entire Agreement. Any amendments must be in writing and signed by both parties. In the even of a dispute, legal action may only be instituted in the county within which the Rental Property is located. If any part of this Agreement shall be deemed unenforceable by law, that part shall be omitted from this Agreement without affecting the remaining Agreement. Owner shall conduct all brokerage activities in regard to this Agreement without respect to the race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap or familial status of any Guest.

Guests here voluntarily assume all risks and dangers and all responsibility for any losses and/or damages whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other conduct of the Owners or by any other person. Guests hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, defend and indemnify Owner and any and all agents, employees or contractors from any and all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services or otherwise which may arise out of my use of Rental Property facilities, equipment or activities. Guest further assumes full responsibility for the actions of any and all persons whom he may allow to enter the property during the rental period and indemnifies Owner from any and all claims arising from such other persons.

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual agreement and covenants herein contained, Guest has read and agreed to the following:

I am over the age of 25 and assume responsibility for those in my charge under the age of 25. I hereby assume all legal responsibility for bodily injury to me or to any person on the property as a result of my visit and use, operation or possession of equipment hired or loaned to me. Acknowledging this, I accept complete responsibility for the minor children and myself in my charge and visit the property and equipment and engage in activities or events at my own risk.

I will abide by the rules and accept these rental conditions:
The property I rent will be returned in the same condition in which it was rented and I will be responsible for all of the damage and/or loss that occurs during my rental period.

I agree to hold harmless and to indemnify the Owner of the Rental Property against all loss, damage, expense and penalty on account of personal injury or property damage to the rental dwellers, the undersigned or to any minor child or children in the charge of the undersigned, howsoever rising, whether by act or acts or failure to act of the employees, owners, animals of the said company or property owners or not.

I acknowledge receipt of the property in good order and condition (if found otherwise per my arrival, I will contact Owner immediately) and further agree that the Owner of the Rental Property shall not be liable for consequential damages of any kind or nature from whatever cause arising, whether property or equipment is loaned or rented.

I enter into agreement freely with the Owner of the Rental Property at my own risk, acknowledging the risks inherent in outdoor and beach activities and assume any and all responsibility for the minor children and myself in my charge.

All parties agree to and will comply with Federal, State and County pollution laws and any other applicable laws and regulations. I also agree, by signing this document or proceeding with the electronic booking of this property to all of the terms above, and that I will not hold the owner "hostage" by threatening a bad review if I am held to the above rules and information.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire residential portion of the cottage (excluding the garage). The driveway is 400 feet long to the house. Parking is limited on the property due to the panhandle driveway. There is one parking space for the cottage. Please note no parties, no more than four people total at the cottage, and friends of guests may not leave cars to ride with you to the beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas are located beside the shed for your use.

Other things to note
There is an amazing amount of wildlife on the property due to its proximity to conservation land. You will see birds, squirrels, raccoons and deer among the woods.

We provide beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs but NOT snorkeling gear nor boogies boards due to sharks (gear which AirBnB does not allow us an option to exclude.)

BEST HIKING TRAILS

Barnstable:Bridge Creek Conservation Area.
This may be the home of the Cape's biggest uprooted tree, a slumped-over monster with a root ball twice my height! Wide trails (2.5 miles worth) traverse woods, marshes and old bogs. A great old-timey West Barnstable vibe.

Bourne:Little Bay Park and Monks Park.
What a view! I still remember taking in Little Bay for the first time — you walk under a railroad bridge and there it is: a dreamy lagoon. Trails crisscross varied terrain--one even goes out to a little island-like point where I found cool shells and driftwood.

Brewster: You'll be loopy with joy on the Cliff Pond Loop trail at Nickerson State Park, an epic 3.1 mile leg-stretcher with great kettle pond views and quiet woodland passages. The bonus is that the park stops collecting a parking fee at the end of October, so all that beauty will be free.

Chatham:Morris Island Trail.
Just the drive out to the Monomoy Island Wildlife Refuge visitor center is big view soul food. The trail begins with a couple of breathtaking vistas, then pops down a staircase and continues along a beach. A real Cape Cod, toes-in-the-sand kind of place.

Dennis: It's gotta be Crowe’s Pasture in East Dennis. A big playground of dirt roads and trails through marshes and out to Cape Cod Bay where you can watch shellfishermen in action. Sunsets over Quivett Creek are splendid!

Eastham:Fort Hill Trail.
Epic vistas out over Nauset Marsh and the wild Atlantic beyond, plus nicely-maintained fields and the super-bonus is that the trail connects to the recently-refurbished Red Maple Swamp boardwalk trail--an especially colorful place in fall.

Falmouth:Bourne Farm.
I just love this place! It feels like old New England, with a farmhouse and fields leading to trails. There's a wicked cool cattle tunnel under a former railroad bed and access to a herring run. And right next door is Bunker Tree Farm where you can cut your own Christmas tree.

Harwich:Bell’s Neck Conservation Lands.
This place has it all—2.75 miles of trails, spots to launch kayaks and canoes and lots of herons and ospreys. It's one of the best foliage spots on the Cape with deciduous trees and salt marshes working the colors into a symphony.

Mashpee:Dead Neck Trail.
This makes a trip to South Cape Beach a special occasion. The trail winds through a sandy peninsula with pond and ocean views, out to a scenic breakwater at the entrance to Waquoit Bay. I saw a snowy owl out there and it stared me down like I was a big, tasty mouse!


Orleans:Twinings Pond Conservation Area.
This out-of-the-way place is one of the most tranquil spots on Cape Cod. Twinings Pond is a beautiful mirror that catches reflections of sky and clouds and you can feel the worries of the day melt away in the ripples. The trails aren't super long but they resonate!

Provincetown:Clapps Pond and Duck Pond Conservation Area.
I just started walking this trail a few months ago and I was gobsmacked from the get-go! This is my go-to trail these days, a perfect hour-long loop around a big hidden pond. Side trails take you out into the sandy Provincelands—good foliage, too.

Sandwich:Murkwood Conservation Area.
Before I ever visited, I fell in love with the name. "Murkwood" sounds like an Edward Gorey story! The trails wind through the woods and the whole place is surrounded by salt marsh with great views of Scorton Creek. Good foliage spot, too.

Truro:Pamet Area Trail System:
A cornucopia of vistas, history and even beach access to the Atlantic backshore. Trail winds up to a big view over Ballston Beach and there's a creepy bog house remaining from cranberry farming days. Further along, the trail heads north into wilderness.

Wellfleet:Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail.
Ancient cedar trees and copperish-green water make this the most creepily evocative trail on Cape Cod. I dare ya to meander down to the newly-repaired boardwalk toward dusk on a late afternoon around Halloween. Super spooky!

Yarmouth:Historical Society of Old Yarmouth Nature/Botanical Trails:
A great way to get away--right off Route 6A! 1.5 miles of trails with woods, ponds and one of my favorite trees on Cape Cod--a gigantic weeping beech that has to be seen to be believed!

Small seasonal classic Cape cottage circa 1940 with speckle painted floors, unfinished warm tongue and groove wood walls, a main room with comfy queen bed, fieldstone fireplace, sitting area, breakfast table, and discrete flat-screen TV. A middle walk-through room with twin and trundle. A small kitchen with all you need. This cottage is attached to a 2 BR 4 Season cottage by a shared screened breezeway. These cottages share an outdoor shower. Across the yard is a 4 BR seasonal cottage circa 1925. Dogs are prohibited at the main beach from April 1- Labor Day. However, dogs are allowed year-round at Pricilla Beach, at the end of Standish Road.

The cottage is private. There is a screened breezeway shared by the neighboring attached 4Season Cottage. The back garden is available with an outdoor shower. The entire lawn and garden areas total one acre. The tennis court is shared with the main cottage and 4Season Cottage. Henry's speakeasy, hidden in the stables, is shared by anyone on the property.

Other things to note
This small cottage does not have 11 beds as is currently showing in the guest view. There is one queen and a twin with trundle in another room. What we like about this cottage is it's simplicity. There is zero insulation. You will feel the temperatures and hear the weather. Imagine a week in Thoreau's Cabin on Lake Walden.

Are you special enough to stay at the Hobbit Cottage? All of our tenants have been magical so far and we want to continue that trend! This cute little house is on a lovely marsh where you will hear birdsong while you enjoy the ever changing view of the gentle wetland. A mini paradise nestled in a quiet neighborhood, it is an easy bike ride or a short drive to Nauset Beach. Tiny and cozy, the cottage has every amenity for a comfortable stay! (7 Day SATURDAY - SATURDAY Minimum in July and August.)

It's actually better if you send an inquiry before you send a booking request so we can make sure it's a good fit. We do screen tenants carefully before we agree to host. You may not book on someone else's behalf - the person who books must be staying at the property the entire time.

Discounts on weekly and monthly visits in the off season. ONE WEEK MINIMUM July - September (SATURDAY - SATURDAY stays July - September). We allow well-behaved dogs in the off season only. Again, dogs are not permitted in the summer months and we do NOT accept cats at all. DOG OWNERS: TICKS ARE PLENTIFUL EVERYWHERE ON CAPE COD - you must be vigilant in treating your animal with tick repellent and constantly checking them and YOU for ticks after outings. The cottage abuts a conservation wetland and we are not permitted to use insecticides - we do NOT spray for ticks or other insects, so please take this into account before making a reservation with a dog. Keep dogs on a leash, do not allow dogs to run through tall grasses or bushes and stay on wide paths. Please educate yourself on tick prevention before you arrive and take appropriate measures.

Skaket Beach on Cape Cod Bay is 1.6 miles away and Nauset Beach is 2.6 miles away. A short bike or car ride in either direction. Day trips to Provincetown by car and Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket by ferry are easily arranged. We provide you with many brochures, menus, maps and personal recommendations upon your arrival.

The cottage is very clean, cute and comfortable and has every thing you might need. Situated in a quiet, friendly little neighborhood, right next to the famous Cottage Street Bakery, yet you would never know you are so close to town! It is centrally located within walking distance to restaurants, shops and bike path, with the Ice Cream Cafe right down the street on the corner. 3 miles to all beaches. Access to the Cove including kayak rental is just down the street. Perfect location!

The space
The outdoor shower is great for rinsing off after the beach or for a refreshing shower in the morning. Hot water included, of course!

The Summer House is our totally restored, classic Cape Cod cottage. Originally built in 1941, our home has been tastefully renovated and has all you need for a memorable Cape Cod vacation.

Our vintage cottage was lovingly restored with authentic beadboard ceilings and shiplap wallboards, all painted white for a clean and bright feeling. The original pine floors were refinished and left their natural color which gives the cottage a unique and inviting warmth and character.

The space
The Summer House has a bright and airy living area which is open to the vintage kitchen and roomy screened porch so that everyone has room to spread out but still feel connected.

The light filled and cheery cottage kitchen is equipped with all you need for your stay and has french doors that open onto the inviting screened porch for dining and relaxing.

Each bedroom space has its own unique character and furnishings. The master suite has a vaulted shiplap ceiling, queen brass bed, cable tv, large ceiling fan, walk-in closet and a very private, sunny master bath, with privacy wall and soaking tub.

The front bedroom has an antique double bed, a large dresser and original, painted pine floors. The porch bedroom has twin beds, vaulted beadboard ceiling, exposed rafters and large windows that open onto the screened porch.

We provide pillows and blankets. Guests are responsible to bring their own bed linens and towels. For special circumstances, arrangements can be made for these items to be provided for an additional charge.

Our cottage is on a quiet street, has a roomy yard for games and abuts a wooded area which is a habitat for birds and other wildlife.

Stay in an authentic 18th century grist windmill, secluded deep in the woods, on Little Pleasant Bay. Swim/kayak from private beach steps away and see the beauty of Cape Cod sunrises/sunsets. A grill/picnic table is available for cookouts. When back from beach, there is an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand.

This is a private cottage. Guests have access to all amenities. There is a drip coffee maker, keurig, toaster, charcoal grill and microwave. Lobster pot can be found under the microwave for those who like to cook their own! Call if you can't find something, sometimes people move things around.

Washer and dryer are in the basement. Access is behind the house.

Our classic Orleans home, situated in the immaculate beauty of Pleasant Bay... is the perfect place to live out your dream Cape Cod getaway. Packed to the brim with quaint New England charm and surrounded by acres of forest and marshes our home offers a secluded, private year-round escape. Located near Skaket and Nauset beach, as well as shops, restaurants, and attractions in town. Enjoy all the cape has to offer and return home to watch the sunset or stargaze from the back deck.

Guest access
For check-in, I'll first mention that the way to get to the house is down 115-121 Barley Neck's shared driveway…pass the "children at play sign" and then take a sharp left down the first fork in the road, this is the Croll-specific driveway. The house will be on your right as you drive towards the flagpole, it's the one with the red Japanese maple tree out front.

The guest access lockbox is attached to the bottom of the fence on the far right side of the entrance area, closest to the maple tree...look down towards that corner, on the ground.

The code for that lockbox is 2121 or 1212. Inside there will be two keys for the “informal” doorway we use for the house…the screened doorway to the left of the formal entrance. It has a knob handle...if in doubt, NOT the golden lever.

Trash pick-ups are on Tuesdays and Recycling is on Thursdays, both before 6:00 AM. If your stay includes Monday or Wednesday nights please consider taking the trash out the night before to prevent overflow at check-out (the lids for the units must remain closed to prevent wildlife from rummaging in there). Otherwise, we simply ask that you simply dispose of all waste there before you depart.

Classic Cape Seasonal Cottage. Heat and AC. Spacious private property, ample lawns, and a tennis court; minutes walk to the beach. Speckle-painted floors, warm wood walls, and a fieldstone fireplace along with 3 bedrooms, plus 2 twins in a room with laundry. Two full baths, and an outdoor shower. Screened porch. It’s all about simple traditional summer living and Nauset Beach, a short stroll. Bring sheets and towels or use local service. A summer guest house and a winter addition on property.

The space
While this is a fully equipped summer cottage, sheets, bath, and beach towels are not provided June, July, August, and September Guests may bring their own or choose local services that provide delivery and pick up of the same. The Furies is one such company. The property is over an acre and protected by privacy hedges. Lawns, tennis court, former stables, and the 1925 cottage, are well cared for since our family purchased the property in 1943. Across the yard, there is a small seasonal guest cottage connected by a screened breezeway to a 4 Season cottage. These may be rented. Beach essentials are in a shed. Dogs are prohibited on the main beach from April 1 through Labor Day. However, dogs are allowed year-round at Pricilla Beach at the end of Standish Road

Guest access
The property is for your enjoyment with the exception of a locked garage with family items. The guest house and it’s addition may be occupied but this should not be a bother. The tennis court is shared by the three dwellings. Parking areas are separate. one for the main cottage and one for the guest cottage and 4Season addition.

Other things to note
Access to the North Spit requires walking down 50 wooden steps built into the bluff overlooking the beach, bay, and ocean. A seating resting area is built halfway down the stairs. The stairs are only for Nauset Heights residents and guests; you will be a guest.

This family place is gorgeous in its simplicity and we have intentionally kept it in its traditional character resisting pressures to modernize. If you love the idea of a classic cottage by a world-renowned beach, in a sweet town, then you will be in heaven. You must know the cottage is not insulated. You will hear the rain and feel dramatic temperature changes. We have added mini splits for heat and AC. But this is not the rental for ultimate sports viewing with the highest speed connectivity. Cell phone coverage is spotty on the Heights. We do have modems and internet connections in the dwellings. This is the home for sunrise beach walks, star gazing, long dinners, and reading books on the porch. We hope you love it as we do and come back every year.
