A great traditional knotty pine cottage with inviting living areas highlighted with vaulted wood beamed ceilings, it is appointed with a fully equipped retro kitchen with breakfast bar seating and skylight.

The inviting living room space is bright and airy, and has a sleeper sofa with full size bed. There is a dining table for 4, and an additional sitting area to relax in.

The two cozy bedrooms are also tongue and groove pine paneled; one with a queen bed, the other with a twin bed. The comfy nook in the sunroom, with antique daybed equipped with custom mattress and box spring, is a wonderful spot to curl up with a good book, or to sleep the night away.

The cottage has one full bath with stall shower, a 32 Inch Hi Def TV , a second smaller Smart TV, Cable, High Speed WIFI, gas BBQ grill, wood shed with beach supplies, 2 bicycles, and 2 kayaks, and an outdoor deck with a dining area where you can sit back and enjoy.

There is a window air conditioner and tower room fans if needed, and a wonderful cross-breeze that usually comes through the many windows of the cottage.

A private outdoor shower with hot and cold water and separate changing area provides the perfect experience after a day at the beach.

The nearby beaches are perfect for young and old alike. Splash around in the bay beaches at high tide or explore the miles of tidal pools at low tide.

You can also choose to walk around the corner to secluded Flax Pond (cottage has deeded beach rights), which provides a nice alternative to sunny days at the ocean. You’ll love being able to kayak, canoe, sail a sunfish, swim, or float the day away, in the shady calm warm water Flax Pond provides. Take a relaxing walk through the miles of nature trails that surround Flax Pond, and discover the second small sandy beach on the other side of the pond.

Dennis offers 16 beaches including Cape Cod Bay, Nantucket Sound, and numerous freshwater ponds. There are 2 championship golf courses, and a charming village with many quaint shops, restaurants, ice cream parlor, library, The Cape Playhouse, Cape Cinema, art galleries, and museums, all located a few minutes away on historic Route 6A.

The cottage has a full kitchen, an air-conditioned living/dining room, and two air-conditioned bedrooms upstairs. The cottage sleeps six with a queen bed in one bedroom, and a full bed in the second bedroom. A queen or single air bed can be used downstairs in the living room. All floors are hardwood. Cable TV and WiFi are provided. The cottage has a washer & dryer, dishwasher, full stove with oven, and propane heat for off-season vacations. In addition to a just-renovated bathroom, the cottage has its own outdoor shower with hot and cold water. The boathouse has a bar with bar stools and open area facing the lake. The 200' lakefront is ideal for outdoor dining. At the lakefront is a fire pit where families can gather, make music, watch the moonlight over Scargo Lake, and cook around the fire.

Glacial Scargo Lake is famous on Cape Cod for being both serene and clean. Only sailboats, canoes, etc. are allowed. The lakefront is so quiet that one can often hear the beachgoers playing at the public beach on the other side of the lake, half a mile away. Cape Cod Bay beaches (Howes and Corporation) are a 15-20 minute walk from the cottage (or a 2 minute drive), so one can swim in the bay and rinse off in Scargo Lake’s crystal clear water. Famous Mayflower beach is less than 5 minutes drive away. The lakefront has 3 entrances into the water for swimming, one a sandy beach that is great for children as it is shallow for a considerable distance before the water deepens. The lake is also excellent for sailing, canoeing or kayaking and tenants may use the Hobie Wave Catamaran sailboat, kayak, or canoe (life jackets in the boathouse-mandatory). Bass and trout fishing, including fly-fishing and ice fishing, make the lake a year-round fishing paradise.

The cottage is located off 6A in Dennis Village, a village unchanged since the 1950s. Although set back from the road and secluded by vegetation, the cottage is easily within walking distance of the village. The property is a short walk (5-15 minutes) from the Cape Playhouse (world famous off-Broadway theater), Cape Cinema ('art' films, not commercial fare) Cape Cod Art Museum (well worth a visit, Cape artists), local restaurants (many excellent, some exceptional) and the center of town (a gazebo). A large shopping mall is a ten-minute drive to Patriot Square. The area also has great hiking and biking trails. The review that follows below confirms that people love to vacation at the cottage on Scargo Lake, as will you.

The cottage is to be left in the same immaculate condition that you will find it in. No candles or smoking are allowed, nor any parties. Check in is 3pm on the day of arrival and checkout is 10 am on the day of departure. No more than three cars are allowed at the property and there is no off street parking due to the proximity of the beaches. No use of the fireplace please.
Absolutely no beach parking allowed for persons other than renters . This will be strictly enforced and if violated you will be asked to leave. The mini splits are extremely fragile and I ask that they not be touched and only controlled by remotes.

This cozy cottage is a short walk to historic Dennis Village, a gorgeous, private bayside beach, dining, shopping and the arts. You can park your car for the week and enjoy a quiet beach vacation or get out to explore historic 6A and the National Seashore. Either way, we hope you make our place home base for your best vacation ever.

The space
This spacious cottage is clean, bright and thoughtfully decorated.

The full bath has a walk-in shower. The private, spacious outdoor shower is big enough for families to rinse off kids before coming in for the evening.

Three bedrooms; each with their own unique theme, bedding, closet and bureaus.

There is one main living area that's spacious and comfy. It's open to the fully equipped kitchen. The dining table has seating for 6. And we keep a stocked game cabinet, dvds, books and Smart TV ready to access your streaming service accounts - great for snuggling in on rainy days.

Housekeeping: Linens, bath, kitchen and beach towels are included in the cottage rental fee. There is NO daily housekeeping service.

Accessibility: There are 3 steps leading into the front door of the cottage and to get down to the patio area.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive access to the entire 3 bedroom condo cottage, back, front and side yards, including the patio and outdoor shower.

Beach chairs, beach caddy, umbrellas, beach toys/floats are in the bin next to the outdoor shower.

The shed is not accessible to guests. It is locked and used for storage only.

Other things to note
Beach Details: There is a private beach with town access at the end of Nobscusset Rd that is free for our guests to visit. Our cottage is located .7 miles from this beach. Guests may use the beach caddy to haul beach gear. It's very walkable, about 10 minutes. There is no parking for this beach access.

The beach can get very small with high tides and conversely can be quite expansive when the tide goes out as we are on the Bay side. Keep an eye on the tide charts so that you can plan your day on the beach when there's plenty of room to spread out.

If you choose to drive to a public beach, Mayflower is about 1.6 miles away and about the same distance to Bayview and about 1 mile to Corporation beach. Chapin beach is a little further 2.4 miles. These beautiful and popular bay side beaches fill quickly and beachgoers are frequently turned away early in the day. Plan accordingly. Pack your lunch and the car the night before.

Please do not park cars in front of condo-this area is designated as a fire lane by the town.

For renters with Electric Vehicles, we have an outdoor, weatherproof, dedicated 240-volt outlet that you are welcome to use with your charger. Please let the host know if you plan to use this amenity.
