We recommend that only individuals without mobility limitations access the basement or the upstairs bedrooms.

This cottage is located on Bass River in Grand Cove. Just steps to the waters edge. A Fisherman's and Kayakers Heaven! A wonderful location in the Historic District of South Dennis with it's church bells bellowing across the water, beautiful homes and historic buildings. The cottage was built in the early 1930's, it was one of the first cabins on the shore. As you enter the cabin, the knotty pine walls and hard wood floors welcome you. The living room ceiling is vaulted and the original wood. The living room looks over the Bass River and has amazing sunsets every night. The glass sliding doors bring you to the porch, hot outdoor shower, grill and access to the 185' pier and dock. There is a small beach for launching canoes, kayaks and small fishing boats about 10' away. The living room has an electric fire place, a/c, flat screen tv w cable and internet. The kitchen has everything you should need for preparing meals for your stay. The cabin is located on a acre of land that is shared by 5 cottages. They are a condo association that share the dock, parking, dumpster and public beach.
The large West Dennis Beach is just a quick 5 minutes to the West Dennis Beach. This beach has the warm water from Nantucket Sound, some waves and soft white sand. From the cottage, take a walk to the Breakfast Room for breakfast or lunch, Steamer Trunk's surf stuff shop/ kayak rentals, and The Christmas Tree Shop. An antique shop on the way is always fun to pop into. Location is central to all cape cod has to offer. This property has the use of all amenities at the Yarmouth Country Cabins just 8 minutes away. There is a heated pool, laundry room and bikes to borrow at the cabins. Kayak rentals are nearby to The Outlook Cabin. It is a quaint waterfront cottage with an amazing view and sunsets on the beach every night. Convenient to shopping on Rt.134 at Patriots Square. Cape Cod Rail Trail is one mile from the cottage. There are bikes to rent, parking and one of our favorite restaurants, Morrelle's. The cabin has a dock and beach for fishing and swimming. A 185' dock and boat slip was built Sept '09. Boat slip available with rental for a fee. This cottage has 2 a/c units.
Grand Cove is a Cape Cod Treasure! It is an amazing fishing spot. When the birds come flyin' in..the fish just start jumping! Sit back and enjoy the views of Bass River. This is a no wake zone. Very quiet. Mussels in the sea grass or fresh fish for dinner? Sail, kayak, and swim! Sit back and enjoy the sunset over the water every night from the patio. Light up the Weber grill for an evening fire or BBQ. The gas fireplace in the living room will keep you warm on a chilly Spring or Fall evening. The location of this rental is set in the heart of all that Cape Cod has to offer yet it is quiet and secluded. This is a Cape Cod treasure. Grand Cove is ocean fed salt water. This cove is located on Bass River. Bass River connects to the Nantucket Sound. The water is the temperature of the ocean or a bit warmer and the fishing is bountiful. There is a boat ramp located on Great Wastern Road in Dennis. The ramp is about 8 minutes from the cottage and parking is free. Beaches: Chapin Beach/Mayflower Beach on the Bay side off Rt. 6a is so beautiful at sunset. Pack a picnic dinner. During the day, bring the kids at low tide...the beach goes out for miles with an abundance of tide pools. West Dennis Beach is just 2 miles from the cottage. It has just enough waves. Coastguard Beach: A 40 minute drive, big waves and nature. Seagull Beach in Yarmouth is calm and warm. Only 10 minutes away. Chapin Beach and Mayflower Beach are best experienced w a low tide that leaves a beach of about 3 miles out and tide pools for kids/ toddlers to play in. So fun!
Resturants everywhere and shopping. Be sure to catch a whale watch. Cape Cod is a whales destination to feed before they make the trip down the east coast for the winter.

Fishing, Kayaking, swimming, crabbing everything you would want in a get away vacation. Audrey and Jerry were great hosts. Need anything BAMB she was right on top of things. Studio cabin is located at the Yarmouth Country Cabins in South Yarmouth. This cabin shares the 10 acres of land/woodlands is located in the heart of Cape Cod. So close to the Island Ferries we can hear the steamships horns blow. This property was developed in the 1940's and still has the nostalgic charm that it was blessed with. There are nature walking paths, badminton, ping pong, horseshoes, Bocci Ball, beach sand playground, campfire area, heated salt chlorinated outdoor pool, and salt water pond at the edge of the property. We are exactly one mile to the Town of Yarmouth's Parker's River Beach on South Shore Drive on the Nantucket Sound side of the cape. Our location is between 2 of Cape Cod's largest miniature golf attractions, Pirate's Cove and Bass River Sports World/Skull Island. Pirates' Cove is .5 mi and Skull Island/Bass River Sports World is .2 mi. Planet Fitness Gym is .3 mi from us. Restaurants, shopping, treats to eat..all within walking distance.

Located in South Yarmouth. This is Cabin#4 at the Yarmouth Country Cabins, 864 Route 28, South Yarmouth, Cape Cod. The cabins are set on 10 acres of land. This cabin shares an outdoor heated salt water pool, playground, games and walking trails. It is quick one mile to the beach on the ocean side of cape cod. Many restaurants are easy to walk. Bass River Sports World is a one block walk and offers mini golf, batting cages, bumper cars, arcade..so much more. The property is peaceful and nostalgic. It was built in 1939. This is family owned rental property and has hosted many families over the decades. We hope that yours will visit us soon. There are hammocks swaying over sandy knolls. Large beachsand playground and playhouse for the kids. Badmitton, ping pong, Bocci ball, Volleyball Sand Court, Bikes to borrow and nature trails to Swan Pond(now closed) Nightly bonfire for roasting marshmallows, picnic tables, bbq grills and tiki torches make the evenings fun.
The nearest beaches are Parker River Beach, Smuggler's Beach, and South Middle Beach are 1 mile away. Seagull Beach and West Dennis Beach are approx 2.5 mile away. Super Stop & Shop is less than 1 mile away. A grill can be moved to your cabin to use. There are several gas grills that are fixed for you to use. Maintenance is in cabin11. Laundry room is next to cabin20 w 3 steps up. Summary of Cabin5: Parking is on the right side of cabin5 front porch. A small enclosed porch w seating for 3. The studio cabin has a queen bed and pullout twin bed for a small person. Linens and bedding included. We do not recommend this cabin for more than 2 adults. Best use is 2 adults and a small child (under 70 pounds). The kitchenette has all you should need for your stay. Full sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, full-sized sink and counter. There is no oven or dishwasher. If something is not in the kitchenette that you need for a meal, Our advice is that you plan to bring your 5 favorites from your kitchen that you use everyday. A skillet, knife, cutting board, French press, ziplock bags, etc. It is a small bag to bring that simplifies your meal prep. A nice sized bathroom w shower. Please bring your own towels and soaps. If you are flying in, ask maintenance for towels.
An outdoor fenced shower is on cabin5 in addition to the indoor shower.
The patio is your private patio. No charcoal is supplied for charcoal grills. There is a gas grill behind cabin5 that is for all to use. In joy your time and family. Patio with seating with umbrella at the front door of the cabin.

The setting is on a 10 acre multi-cabin retreat that has the nostalgic feeling of cape cod in 1950. Many pine trees, nature paths, salt water pond (Swan Pond/ Parkers River) that leads to the ocean; great fishing. Our fun stuff: outdoor heated salt water pool, bikes to borrow, hammocks, tiki torches, grills, beach sand playground w/ toys. Nightly marshmallow roasts at our outdoor fireplace are daily. Bring a flashlight for a game of flashlight tag or Nerf ball. This is a peaceful place. You may remember spending time at a place just like this when you were a kid. Family friendly. Family atmosphere. If you are searching for a rental that has other families, plenty of room to ride bikes safely, and games such as horseshoes, bocci ball, foosball, ping pong and badminton. The playhouse cabin has crafts for your children at a small charge. The playground has a beach sand base and has sand toys for your children to use.
The cabin is fully equipped with all you need for your week. We have a large pergola w deck, barn, water feature and beautiful flower gardens. Location is a village area. Many things to walk too. Papa Gino's, Diary Queen, gift shopping, mini golf, arcade, soccer cages, batting cages, golf range to practice your swing, fitness gym(Planet Fitness), groceries, all in walking distance! A walk to the beach is 15 minutes (one mile)w/ a great resturant (The Skipper). Borrow one of our bikes for a quick ride to the beach. Hyannis Center is only 3 miles for all it has to offer: Museums, Ferries to the Islands, Deep sea fishing, whale watching, and so much shopping and resturants to enjoy!

- "New furniture in our cabin, recently painted and updated. Have stayed here a few summers in a row now. Centrally located to everything. If you are looking for place to cook a meal or two, shower and sleep this place is perfect." - "While the best thing about this place was the location, as it was near everything, it was perfect for a family vacation. The cabin was the perfect size, the beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of storage. The pool was great for our little ones who are still learning to swim and also for us, we love to swim. Everyone was so polite and friendly and the owners were always there if we needed them. Our dog was welcomed and when she had a long time in our cabin, the owners offered to take her out for a walk. We ended up taking her to doggie daycare not 5 minutes away to give her some extra fun time. We had such a good time and have every intention of coming back every summer. This was perfect for our small family, but would be great if we had a bunch of families with us. Hopefully this can be a family reunion place in the future."

Kids (8 & 6) LOVED the fire pit for making s'mores and proximity to the pool (which has a large shallow end perfect for relaxing). Bocce Ball court is an overlooked ammenity that was great. Our kids never even asked to turn on the TV!! The screened in / covered porch was awesome for all meals and the OUTDOOR SHOWER is an awesome feature. This place is so convenient for all the day trips, or just hanging out at the pool. We highly recommend this property and hope to stay again next time we hit the Cape.."

- "Communication during the planning phase with Audrey was immediate and also throughout our stay. We stayed in Cabin #6 for 9 nights in October during a rainy, cool few days. The cabin was warm, clean and welcoming. We prepared quite a few meals indoors, but were able to grill outside on our private patio. The outdoor shower was huge and wished it was warm enough to use it. The grounds have a huge amount of acreage with winding white shelled streets, well lit at night for walks at all hours. Each walk is an experience of discovery as you pass the whimsical items placed discreetly among the beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. There are several modern outdoor fireplaces surrounded by chairs and wooden swings waiting for some company and a blanket. Safe children's play area. As you can tell, we loved our stay and can envision a summer family reunion with lots of kids, each family in their separate cabin right next door. Thank you Audrey for all your fine touches. It was perfect for our needs, with three beds. My toddler loved the playground and the basketball court, there was a lot of room to run around. It was also in a convenient location to get to everything we wanted to see--it was 5 minutes from Parker's Beach and the Whydah Pirate museum, plus a Stop and Shop only 3 minutes down the road for whatever else we needed. the only issue we had was our first night there, the hot water wasn't working. But Audrey kept us in the loop and we got it back the next day, so it overall didn't ruin our trip. We had a great time, and would love to come back in the summer months!"

- "We absolutely loved our stay at this Charming & adorable little cottage. It was just the right size. The decor and the waterfront location was beautiful right on the Atlantic Ocean estuary of Town Cove which is safe and fun to play in. The location was perfectly situated between Orleans and Eastham, making restaurants & groceries really easy. Although it’s on hwy 6 you don’t hear or see any road noise in the cabin nor while outside in the deck hid the dock. Our highlights were 1. beachcombing at First Encounter beach at low tide. 2. We rented 2 tandem kayaks from Paddle Cape Cod & the delivered & picked them up right at the cottage for free. We paddled down to the marsh area & saw a seal and lots of interesting birds. 3. We bought a little crab trap & had fun catching green crabs with chicken legs right off the dock. Then we drove to Herring river bridge in Harwich to catch Blue crab… it was really fun. All in all it was a lovely stay, I wish we had longer and can’t wait to come back in the future."

Our Location is amazing! Within 1 mile of the cabin is: Inflatable Waterpark, Skull Island mini golf and go carts, Pirates' Cove, 2 major grocery stores and the most Beautiful Beaches Cape Cod has to offer! The beach water is warm in July and August, near 70 degrees!

Located in a quiet, walkable neighborhood, this one floor, three-bedroom two bath home is a five-minute stroll from two sandy beaches on freshwater ponds and a seven- to fifteen-minute drive to Pleasant Bay’s and Cape Cod Bay’s saltwater beaches. Now fully airconditioned and equipped with Wifi and smart TV, it began life in about 1915 as the gunner’s cottage, the home of the man who took his sports store owner’s wealthy Boston clients hunting. In the last forty years, it has had three additions and several upgrades.
The original part of the house features a spacious cathedral ceilinged kitchen/ dining area bathed in light from surrounding windows. The primary suite addition is located off one side of the kitchen and includes a spacious bedroom and full bath. Kids will love scampering up the ladder off the kitchen to the loft, with its boat-shaped twin trundle bed and bookcase full of games. Below the loft are the two original bedrooms, each with a brick fireplace. (Fireplaces cannot be used.) Beyond these two rooms, you enter a windowed hall, off which is a full bath and a large, airy cathedral-ceilinged living room with fireplace and bar with a fridge at its end. The distance between the social areas allows for a quiet area or multiple spaces for socializing. Washer and dryer are in the basement and accessible from an outdoor entrance.
Need more space? Relax on the hammock with its soothing pond view. Privacy is ensured by a twenty-foot wall of rhododendrons to the right of the home, which bloom brilliant pink in mid-May. The property is beautifully landscaped with blooming and texturally interesting plants.
The home is centrally located on many levels. It is literally mid-Cape between Provincetown and the Canal, and between Cape Cod Bay and the Atlantic. If you are a baseball fan, it is no more than 20 minutes from the homefields of Harwich, Chatham and Orleans Cape League teams. You are five-six minutes from the East Harwich shopping area with its grocery, hardware, and clothing stores and, better yet, the Corner Store, the best burrito place on the Cape.

The loft was very hot upon arrival, but cooled off quickly once we turned on the a/c and fan. John Joseph’s pond was available for our use,but unfortunately Buck’s pond where the kayak is had a harmful algal bloom present the whole time of our trip.(Out of everyone's control).We weren't able to use that pond during our stay. We still had a great time and found plenty to do. Margaret was very gracious about this, was a very good communicator and was helpful from beginning to end. She left a welcome note and gift at the house, special personal touches. The location in Harwich was central to a lot of things. We recommend staying here!"

The Parson's House is an historic and stunning seven-bedroom home all with full ensuite bathrooms, a designer fitted kitchen, two large lounges, landscaped patio and garden with jacuzzi. We urge guests to pay close attention when enjoying nature, weather can change quickly and wild animals can be surprising. Because temperatures in the mountains can fluctuate widely, even in the height of summer, we recommend packing sweaters and light, cold-weather gear just in case. Depending on the activities you plan, we recommend packing hiking, running, swimming, horseback riding, and/or running gear. We also recommend that guests consider spraying clothes with Permethrin when walking outside, to help avoid ticks. In winter we recommend guests pack several layers of warm clothing and ensure that their vehicles are ready for potential snowfall. For other clothing, most all venues around are very casual.

The space
This cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, full bathroom with tub/shower, spacious living area, large screened in porch, two bedrooms, and access to the basement where there is a washer and dryer, you can store bikes, beach chairs etc.

The lot is very private and open, with plenty of outdoor seating. We provide a large picnic table, a four seater table and chairs and lounge chairs. There is also a charcoal grill for after beach barbecue.

Of course, the main attraction is Old Silver Beach, which is a short 1/3 mile walk, most of it with sidewalks. You can smile and wave at the cars who line up and wait for literally hours to get a parking spot as you stroll onto the beach. The beach has a snack bar, showers, and bathrooms, all very well maintained. Not to mention the sugar sand beach and swimming that make it known as a top beach on Cape Cod...Google it! At the end of the beach day, walk 5 minutes home and enjoy a private barbecue in the yard while the children play in the 1/2 acre open lot that is surrounded by trees and bushes that provide a barrier to the street and gives you exquisite privacy.

You are also within a 1.5 mile bike riding distance to the Shining Sea bike way, which goes all the way to Woods Hole. Biking to Woods Hole, and jumping on the ferry with your bike for a trip to the Islands is always a favorite activity.

Guest access
You are welcome in all parts of the cottage, and in the basement with the exception of the part of the basement that is closed off with orange fencing. There is 1/2 acre of land which also has unrestricted use.

Other things to note
Our family has owned this cottage since it was built in 1967. Over the years, 4 generations have reunited here in the summer. When our matriarch, Lorraine, passed away this winter at the young age of 93, we decided it was time to share our enjoyment of Falmouth and Old Silver Beach with others. Lorraine spent every summer here since it was built, and although we have tried to make the cottage aesthetically pleasing to anyone who comes to stay, you may still find of few of Lorraine's personal favorite things around.

We have also been busy doing some updating, including a new bed in the master bedroom, a new minisplit A/C and heat unit, new sheets, blankets and towels, and an indoor shower. But don't worry, Lorraine was meticulous about keeping up the cottage, including installing hardwood floors, new windows, and updating the landscaping on a continual basis.

For anyone who is not familiar with this section of Falmouth, we have access to great restaurants without going through the stop and go traffic of downtown Falmouth. Family favorites include the Courtyard Restaurant and Bar and Chart Room, just a few miles away without going through downtown Falmouth traffic. There are also convenience stores and a liquor store within 3 miles.

The cottage is small but feels much larger with cathedral ceilings. It is bright and warm with tasteful decor. The setting is beautiful and just a short walk to East Sandwich beach. It is a truly charming place and inspired an article in Wine and Food Travel magazine by a guest who visited. There is an expansive deck framed by beautiful plantings a hammock and a weber grill. There is also a fantastic outdoor shower.

I’ve been here only once before, and it was in March. Around these parts, March might as well still be December, for nothing is open, no residents have returned from their winter homes, and the chill still cuts too deeply to enjoy the scenery. This trip, however, revealed the Cape Cod one reads about, the one that inspires films and our vacationing hordes to return for its beauty. Although my trip was short, I had an experienced guide, a summer cabin to call our own, and perfect summer weather.

Sandwich is a tiny beach town on the north side of the peninsula, at the very beginning of the Cape. At first glance, it is a charmer. Driving down Route 6A East from Sandwich further down the Cape, little farms dot the scenery and handwritten signs outside of homes offer fresh muffins at 8:30 a.m. daily, Native Tomatoes for $2.49 a pound, and fresh homegrown corn. Permanent, professional signs outside of homes alert the traveler to the town’s woodworker, ironsmith, silver and goldsmith, and my favorite, the home of “Gentleman Farmer Clarke.” Businesses around here have names like the Whippletree, Plum Duff, the Pie Bird Bake Shop, See Saw Woodshop, and Salt Acres Barn Shop. The “cute” factor is almost overwhelming, except for the fact that this is real, people really live and work this way here. It is a community of complementary skills; the town silversmith really does work out of that house and one really can buy homemade muffins out of that person’s family kitchen.

I’ve come to meet my friend Mary for a day of beaching and true Cape introduction. A previous resident of East Harwich, she now stays in Sandwich at the newly purchased house of a family friend. The house, a shingled and blue shuttered two-room cabin, is perfect. On a little side street dirt road marked by a sign for “Singing Pines,” six tiny houses stretch back toward the woods. These are houses of yesteryear. Nearly miniature in size, I picture a blue Oldsmobile from the fifties pulling up to this little house, a smiling family disembarks and spends the summer here among the seagulls and waves. Much of Sandwich looks this way to me; tiny, sensibly sized houses, covered in the sea-air warn, light grey shingles, with clear paths to the beach abutting the property. These are homes that support your beach vacation, not compete with it for attention. Their tiny size sparks in me a feeling of bittersweetness; just like the craftsmen of the town advertising from their homes, these tiny houses offer a glimpse into the past. Life was more community-based then, we didn’t all hide in our giant homes so far from our neighbors, and didn’t all work in office parks.

Cape Cod beach cottages
We head to the beach just down the road, climbing over a giant dune to reveal the beautiful ocean before us. The water had a chill, but was warmer than the North Shore waters I’d swam in the day before. We waded and chatted, catching up and cooling off. A woman rides past on a paddleboard, tanned and bikinied, she smiles and offers the board for us to try. Mary hops on. I chat with this woman, Brazilian muralist Sandra DeCastro, who had just vacationed with her son in Cape Ann (up on the North Shore of Massachusetts) and was making her was back southward to New York when the hurricane hit. She pulled over to take refuge in a hotel for the night in Sandwich. Four days later she still couldn’t bring herself to leave the beauty of this place. They were leaving tonight though, they had to, school starts soon for her son, she said as she was attempting to convince herself more than us. She gazed back at the ocean.

We gathered our belongings and made our way into town, stopping at the Giving Tree Gift Shop and Sculpture Garden. Mary met with the owner, Judith, about her budding jewelry design talent and the possibility of selling at the shop. I gazed through their collection of local artists work; beautiful jewelry, all handcrafted into delicate, one of a kind designs. I plan to return, for there were the perfect wedding presents there for my sisters, necklaces of gold paillettes inscribed with “kiss me twice” and tiny love poems.

The garden behind the shop was what I was truly unprepared for though. We made our way around the shop and down a wooden staircase to enter into a bamboo- and sculpture-filled network of trails, bridges, pathways and streams. The wind filters through the bamboo, creating a faint whistling and breezy, papery sound, and the sound of traffic disappears. Little poems and quotes are posted along the trail, offering quips on peace, tranquility, love, nature… We amble along a raised wooden platform with a bamboo-obscured view until you reach the end. Here the openness of the marshland spreads out in both directions; grasses jutting up from the water, dappled light reflecting off the high tide current, giant unidentifiable birds perched on a railing. We follow the path to a covered bridge, pass through and photograph the love poem slipped among the roof boards, walk on. I climb a few steps, turn a corner, and I am surprised by a rope bridge swooping down in front of me. One at a time, we make our way across. I imagine a deep ravine beneath me and Sylvester Stallone or Kevin Bacon starring in this action movie. Alas, it was more tranquil than that.

We meet Mary’s friend Matt, who I immediately love not only because he had bit parts in the movie One Crazy Summer, an 80s favorite, but because he leaves his windows down in his car and leaves it unlocked, has had white hair since he was 18, and brought Bocce balls, Veuve Cliquot, and an antique folding table to the beach. Yes, friends, we drank champagne, watched the sun set, and played Bocce on the beach. It was all very Gatsby-esque. We made our way back to the beach club, ate peanuts with some locals, and headed home. The stars were out in forces, crickets chirping, and I slept like a baby. I wake to an outdoor shower where the steam rises up into the pine trees, and head out for the local, morning muffins.
