Guest Reviews:

- "Great little cabin on the water. Woke up and read on the dock every morning. Just the right quiet getaway we needed." - "We stayed here and it was very scenic! A great place for 2 or less people! Very tight and could use some renovations but fun." - "We enjoyed our stay! The house is rustic -- but cute and clean. Having a screened in porch was a great bonus. We spent most of our time outdoors on the deck, dock and water. Great, timely communication with our host. Enjoyed the kayak and paddle boards on the quiet waters. The road is quiet and great for walking the dogs."

Guest Reviews:

- "Spent 4 nights in the large cabin. It was perfect! The cabin is more like a tiny house. Well laid out, clean tidy and new. Dog friendly. The campground is a perfect size not too large for a crowded loud camping experience. A range of sites everything from air conditioned/heated cabins to bring your own set up. Close and convenient to area attractions and the coast. Make sure to take a tour of the Desert and play some mini golf with an ice cream treat to finish off a perfect game. We travel to the area several times a year and we will always stay at the Desert of Maine. Can’t say enough good things about it. Such a gem!"

- "The cabin was amazing and very clean! We loved the fire pit and the open space behind the cabin. The cabin is located on a campground site and is perfect for those that want the outdoor feel but want a warm shower at the end of the day. We felt recharged and connected with nature. Doug (the one who managed our stay) was attentive and quick to respond to any questions we had. 10/10, I will be back and I’m recommending this cabin to my friends and family!"

- "From the start, this was one of my favorite stays ever! Communication was excellent and hilarious (great emails!). Arriving and finding the cabin was super easy and it was just SO utterly perfect! We happened to arrive during a rare Maine monsoon, so were unable to utilize the campfire, but the inside was cozy and comfortable and wonderful. Bright, spacious and clean! The bed was super comfortable and we loved being able to have morning coffee while looking out the huge windows. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay! We’ll be back soon!"

- "Spacious cottage within walking distance to the beach" - "Great location, the beach is right across the street. Pet friendly. Pool was small but they kept it up, providing lots of tables and chairs with towels. Fire pits at night as well as many bbg grills with tables. Cabin was cute, needed updating. Rugs were so dirty we had to wear shoes inside or our feet would be black. Listing stated a/c. I specifically asked through email if the a/c was throughout the cabin and was told yes. That was not true. The only bedroom had no a/c as well as the attached bath. When we arrived the 1st 3-4 days were in the upper 90's. You literally couldn't breathe in the bedroom. They offered us a loud box fan that we had to prop up on the luggage table that didn't help with the heat. Only some electric sockets worked. The worst part is there was only wifi 40% of the time. I mentioned it every day to multiple employees and everyone acted confused. Sometimes it worked, most times it didn't. If the a/c and wifi were as listed I could have over looked the quality of the cottage."

Guest Reviews:

- "Our stay was nothing short of amazing. The cabin was the perfect size for our family of 4 and it was clean and had recently been redone. It was also extremely close to the lake which had a small sandbar around the corner which was heaven for both my kids and I to explore. Most of the time, the beach was not buggy as there was a plethora of dragonflies which was also neat for my kids to see. During the night, you can hear a couple of loons calling to each other. The cabin is also close to many popular sights for families: it’s less than an hour away from Portland, it’s incredibly close to the Maine Wildlife Park, and there’s a bunch of restaurants and great lobster rolls around the area. Although it’s over an hour away, our three and 1.5 year old enjoyed the Botanical Gardens and got some home made ice cream on the way back.Honestly, this place and Jane was just so accommodating that we are hoping to look into another trip up to Maine next year. And when your 3 year old asks to go back even when it’s close to being 8 hours away, you know it’s wonderful."

This Korean-inspired shed-style cabin is 21’x15’ with dramatic 18’ ceilings, a queen bed with giant windows overlooking the woods, a full bathroom (toilet, sink, and a stupidly luxurious shower), a sleeper sofa with (an actually comfortable) queen foam mattress, a seating area nook with built-in cushioned benches and live edge table perfect for a game of cards or working on your laptop (don’t do it!), and a small kitchenette (sink, granite countertop, electric hot top, mini refrigerator, dishes, silverware, basics for cooking, kettle, etc.). This cabin comes supplied with linens (sheets, down comforter, towels for four, and pillows), linens for the sleeper sofa (sheets, pillows, and blankets), and two sleeping pads and pillows if you have additional guests (i.e. kids) sleeping on the floor. The cabin also has an outdoor seating area with four Adirondack chairs, a fire ring (w/ integrated grill), a small picnic table, and bistro lights that make for a magical outdoor experience.

The cabin is located in the recently renovated campground at the Desert of Maine, an iconic tourist attraction established in 1926. The campground is small, quiet, and serene, surrounded by tall northern pines at the edge of the Desert’s rolling sand dunes which were deposited there at the end of the last ice age. The tourist attraction includes fascinating exhibits about the history, ecology, geology of the Desert, activities for kids, a train ride, mini golf, and much more. Campground guests enjoy free access to the dunes after hours, and discounted tickets for mini golf and general admission for daytime visits. Come to the place Where Wanderers Unwind.

The space
We fell in love with our home (and so did our dog, Stanley!) as a place to recharge, rest & hide away from the busy-ness of the world. Hence the name: Stanley's Hideaway

More about Stanley’s Hideaway:
- The house is round (in that it resembles the shape and style of a yurt)
- The center Skylight will fill the space with natural sunshine
- You will be on 1+ acre of land with short pathways for walking
- Greenery is all around during seasons of bloom and an indoor woodfire-stove is available for cozy rest during colder seasons
- Enjoy the small kitchen with gas stove and toaster oven (no dishwasher, sorry!)
- There is a Coffee grinder for drip coffee, and Breville espresso machine, as well as an Outdoor grill (propane, gas grill)
- Bathroom has a standing shower
- Within 15 minutes markets and grocery stores (Hannafords in Windham, and Good Life Market down the road)
- Sebago Lake is right nearby, and being in the Lakes Region you’ll find lots of water spots nearby, as we’re cushioned between Crescent Lake and Raymond Pond

Follow on IG at @stanleyshideaway you can find great insights like how to make the most of the woodfire stove

Cozy waterfront retreat
Cabin
Windham

Lakefront 2 bedroom, 1 small bath, amazing deck with peaceful views. Great swimming with a gradual entry 'beach' good for kids and adults. The pond is quiet, without motorboat activity. Float, kayak, or canoe around the pond, which also has excellent fishing. While your days can be full with water activities, the house is just 25 minutes from Portland, where world class dining awaits, and/or many of Portland's amazing breweries at "industry-ale way".

The space
This is a family ‘camp’ that we’ve owned for 18 years and still use regularly. We only rent it a few times per season. We’ve raised our kids here and are now ready to share our get away with others. The camp is on Collins Pond, a small body of water that has regular water flow from Little Sebago lake, but it is still a pond with aquatic plants, fish and turtles. We swim in it all season, some of our guests prefer to wear water shoes when in the water.

We have a large back deck and then 'downstairs' is access to the water. These are the two main outdoor spaces. There are two sets of stairs down to the water, and 5 steps to get to the front door.

A note on drinking water: The water source for the camp is a point well, we bring drinking water with us when we go (and provide you a 2 gallon container). We use the tap for cooking, washing dishes, brushing teeth, showering etc.

Guest access
The entire camp is available, The beds for sleeping are in the two bedrooms. There is a loft, but we do not make that up for guests. We have a shed that has 2 adult, 1 child, 1 infant life jackets and paddles and we have a tree house. 75 ft of waterfront for swimming, boating and a dock to jump off of.

Other things to note
We have two kayaks, A paddle boat and an old canoe for boating fun. The swim floaties vary by year - based on durability.

(please note: this is a camp in the Maine tradition, and as such is a little quirky-for example we do not have closets in the bedrooms, just a few hooks, the shower is small, we do not have a TV, but do have loads of games. If you're looking for high amenities, this might not be your spot-if you're looking to 'get away', connect and relax, we've plenty of ways to do that).

Amenities:

Lake view • Body soap • Hot water • Extra pillows and blankets • Essentials • Shampoo • Clothing storage: dresser • Bed linens • Shower gel • Cleaning products

These modern A-Frames are 10'x11' on the interior with dramatic 12' ceilings and a queen bed. This cabin is too "cozy" to have its own bathroom, but our renovated cedar bath house is just steps away (about 50ft). This is the nicest campground bathroom you'll ever see, with live edge countertops and new fixtures everywhere. It actually smells _good_ if you can believe that. And while the bath house is a shared space, don't worry about it being crowded--it gets minimal use because our campground is small and many of our guests will be staying in cabins with their own bathrooms. The bath house has 3 clean, private showers with gloriously hot water to help you unwind.

CHowder Cabin Dog Oasis Fenced Yard
Cabin
Kennebunkport

Don’t forget your dogs!

Enjoy the peacefulness of this cozy tranquil cabin tucked away in the woods. The cabin has the best of both worlds; private & secluded, while being close to town. Kick your feet up on the deck. Breathe in the pine, listen to the birds & frogs. Or take a lovely stroll down Bufflehead Cove Lane, walk quietly you may see a heron or egret on the pond. Left at Port Rd. & continue down to Western Ave.

Lots of stairs. Driveway very steep, requires 4-wheel drive in winter.

The space
I have taken great care to make this a multi-dog friendly home. I have two large retrievers and I know how hard it is to travel with them. My dogs are part of my family as I'm sure yours are. How can you enjoy a family vacation without them? Vivian & Jaxson love it here and we are pawsitive yours will too.

The cabin is three levels of comfortable living with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and loft providing two single beds. Fully stocked kitchen offers you the ability to prepare your own meals. Although the kitchen is not updated it has new appliances. Gas grill on the patio with outdoor dining in warmer weather. The living room and all bedrooms have Apple streaming tv's (no local channels). All linens and towels are provided. Washer & dryer are located in lower level. The lower level has a living area with comfortable sectional to watch tv.

Please be aware there are a lot of stairs. If staying during the winter season you must have a 4-wheel drive or all wheel drive to make it up the steep driveway.

We look forward to hosting you.

Guest access
There is remote access on the side door. The first slider you come to accesses the "Blue" bedroom. Continue along the deck to the side where you will find the front entrance. The code will be provided closer to your arrival date.

Other things to note
When I was a kid, one of my favorite places to go was Grandma's. There are so many memories of Grandma in this cabin. The sound the front door screen makes when it shuts. The non-upgraded kitchen countertops and cupboards. The dressers and fixtures take me back to that wonderful time. I love this cabin and I hope you will as well.
