- "This is a well furnished Ski Cabin and summer vacation home. It has a great kitchen and gorgeous views. It has 2 nice bedrooms sleeping loft and a walkout dormitory with multiple convertible sofas. The entire interior is knotty pine. Negatives are, somewhat poor insulation, lack of any window shades, some difficulty with temperature control in different levels. - "Walked in and there was a strange scent. We kept the doors open for a bit and then it was amazing. I would stay here again. It was exactly like the pictures. BEAUTIFUL" - "Great cabin that is bigger than it looks! Hot tub under the stars didn't disappoint, and the kitchen was well-stocked (with gadgets, not food), even though we didn't end up cooking. We loved how convenient it was for Franconia center of town, but still very secluded, no hint of neighbors. 3 bathrooms for 4 bedrooms was also generous. I think there were 2 full size beds and 1 queen, not the other way around, but we managed. Fan was necessary to keep cool, but this summer has been warmer than usual. Overall, great stay for the weekend!"

- "The Tupfe cabin was the perfect spot to come home to after our long hikes. Especially loved all that the owners put into the cabin. It all blends in such a unique way and tells a great story. Found myself wandering the house, picking up books to read, looking at all the interesting mementos. Super cool! This cabin is a short (5 minute) drive over the river and through the woods from downtown Franconia. There is a private driveway for parking. Guests are required to be prepared with a capable 4WD or AWD vehicle equipped with appropriate winter tires in winter months (October 1 through March 31) as significant snow accumulation is always a possibility in the area. The gravel driveway and private road leading to it will be plowed to clear heavy snow fall, but some snow will always remain on the gravel.

Check yourself in and don't worry about a set of keys with easy keypad entry.
Other things to note
The cabin has a ladder up to the sleeping loft and a steep, narrow staircase down to the downstairs living area, making it unsuitable for infants and younger children. Please be aware of the spaces and your group’s capabilities before booking.

Wood cannot be burned in the upstairs fireplace or downstairs wood stove by guests. There are electric fire logs for guests to enjoy in the upstairs fireplace, as well as a wood-burning Solo Stove fire pit outside.

- "My wife, two boys and I had a wonderful short stay at this property in July. It was clean and comfortable, and perfect for what we were looking for. It was very conveniently located and close to all of the activities we did including hiking (Flume Gorge Trail, Mount Pemigewasset Trail, Basin Cascade Trail), Echo Lake swimming, Cannon Mountain Tramway and more! My 9-year-old son was dying to see a bear, and we saw a mama bear with 3 cubs on our last day! The host was extremely responsive and accommodating, and the whole check-in, check-out process was very simple. We really loved the area and hope to return soon. The historic Horse & Hound is a renovated 12-bedroom lodge located in the beautiful White Mountains just down the road from Cannon ski mountain. It sleeps 25 guests and is perfect for large groups and retreats. The 12 upstairs guest rooms are each furnished with local handmade solid maple furniture. Linens and towels are 100% cotton and blankets are 100% Pendleton wool.

Downstairs, you'll find a large living area, cozy but spacious library, tavern, large dining room with furniture from the original inn and 4 half baths. There is also a large chefs/catering kitchen.

The property is 8 acres with a large flat lower lawn that is perfect for lawn games. The lawn is adjacent to a large terrace that includes wicker furniture and cast iron tables and chairs. You can also enjoy the lovely garden with a farm table and charming greenhouse. The upper lawn leads into the forest, where you’ll find historic moss-covered rock walls and towering sugar maple trees. The property is bordered on one side by the magical Tucker Brook. The Horse & Hound also has a large parking lot of plenty of parking.

The Horse & Hound is located at the base of Franconia Notch State Park and is close to many amazing outdoor activities. There are a number of excellent hiking paths only three miles from the lodge and some of the best mountain and road biking in the northeast. Hiking trails can also be reached directly from the property Cannon mountain is just up the road, which you can hike or take the tram in the warmer months. Echo lake sits at its base and has a beach and boat rentals.

The quaint towns of Franconia, Bethlehem and Littleton offer great restaurants, breweries and shops!

This cabin is a short (5 minute) drive over the river and through the woods from downtown Franconia. There is a private driveway for parking. Guests are required to be prepared with a capable 4WD or AWD vehicle equipped with appropriate winter tires in winter months (October 1 through March 31) as significant snow accumulation is always a possibility in the area. The gravel driveway and private road leading to it will be plowed to clear heavy snow fall, but some snow will always remain on the gravel.

Check yourself in and don't worry about a set of keys with easy keypad entry.

Unfortunately, the wood stove is not available for use.

The MASTER BEDROOM is situated on the main floor and has direct access to the bathroom and shower.

UPSTAIRS is a loft for additional lounging and sleeping space. The loft has two queen beds, both accessible to the second bathroom. Panel room dividers are available for addiitonal privacy. There is also a stereo with a collection of CDs to explore.

There are two BATHROOMS in the cabin. There is one shower in the main floor bathroom and one tub in the loft area bathroom.

The FINISHED BASEMENT includes one queen bed and a crib for additional sleeping. Down here there space for a play area that includes a couch, kids' toys, a high chair, and safety gate for the little ones!

OUTSIDE on the covered and screened front porch you will find additional lounging space for relaxation and entertaining. The side deck offers a propane fueled Weber grill. The yard also has a small firepit!

THE AREA provides lots of summer and winter attractions. Multiple ski mountians are within a 25 minute drive. Snow tubing, the Woodstock Ice Caves, winter biking, snow shoeing, and dog sledding are not far either! Summer attractions include White Mountain Hiking and many other Franconia Notch wonders (the Flume Gorge, the Basin, Echo Lake Beach, Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway, etc.). The cabin is accessible to Littleton, Lincoln, and Bethlehem for shopping, dining, and entertainment!

Perched up on a hillside in the sought after "Franconia Heights" community, this cozy log cabin welcomes you with rustic charm and modern comfort in a fantastic location. It offers stunning views and easy access to a myriad of activities, from skiing at Cannon, Loon or Bretton Woods to hiking one of the thousands of trails of all levels to visiting one of the many kid-friendly attractions. But you'll also want to spend some time at the house itself, with its great natural setting, and a lovely firepit to make s'mores. Challenge your family at a game of ping pong, and skip the restaurants and make yourself a nice meal in the fully equipped kitchen or on the outdoor gas grill, while soaking in the serene surroundings. But of course, don't forget to visit the lovely nearby towns of Franconia, gateway to Franconia Notch State Park, and Littleton, named one of America's best main street, with its quaint New England vibe, great restaurants, brewery, shops and galleries.

The main level welcomes you with a covered porch, great to read a book or sip a cup of coffee on a rainy afternoon. Enter through the mudroom, offering plenty of space to store your gear. Once inside, you will find an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen, with a wood stove to keep you warm and cozy when the weather gets chilly (but don't worry, there is also central heat!). With Live TV from You Tube TV, Netflix, lots of games, DVDs and VCR tapes, your young ones will be entertained even if the weather doesn't cooperate. And a full house generator will keep the lights on even if the power goes out.

On the same level, you will find two bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a washer and dryer. Upstairs you will find a King suite with an attached full bathroom, as well as a small sitting area with a game table for two, and a bookshelf with some games, movies, and books for your entertainment.

But there's more! The lower level features an additional living area which doubles as a sleeping space, with two custom built bunk beds, plus an additional semi-finished space with a ping pong table and an additional twin bed.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Arrival and Departure
-Check-in is at 4 PM and Check-out is at 11 AM.
-Early check-ins and Late check-outs are subject to availability.
-A Digital Guidebook is provided before arrival.
-Lock codes are provided 1-hour before check-in subject to signing the Rental Agreement.
-All interactions are virtual, but our office team and ground crew are available for assistance.

Occupancy and Pets
-The total number of guests at the property must not exceed the number listed in the booking. The guest count should reflect the correct number of adults (12+) and children (2+). A nightly extra guest fee may apply for guests above the standard occupancy up to the maximum number of allowable guests.
-Dogs are allowed. (Maximum of 2 dogs), any other types of animals require approval. All pets except for Service Animals are subject to a Pet Fee per pet.
-Dogs should not be left unattended in units if there is potential for them to bark and disturb neighbors or damage the property.
-Dogs should not be allowed to wander onto neighbors' properties.
-Respectful Noise Levels: Let's keep the peace! Keep the volume down so all can enjoy their time here. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am.

-Your unit will be stocked with a starter set of consumables including toilet paper, paper towels, a sponge, trash bags, dish soap, dishwasher pods, laundry pods, coffee filters, etc. Additional supplies should be provided by the guest.
-This unit does not provide live television.

-There is a wood-burning stove. Firewood is not provided but can be purchased on our website and conveniently delivered to your rental or purchased from other local vendors. Impress your family and friends with breakfast bundles, charcuterie boards, and other local products, also available for delivery!

-This unit has a propane grill.
-No Unauthorized Fires: State and Local Laws regulate the use of fire pits, grills, other open flames, and fireworks. Only use provided grills and fireplaces; permits are required to use fire pits in NH.

Driving Access, Parking, and Entryway
-Remember this area is home to many residents and children. Please follow posted speed limits and drive carefully for the safety of our community.
-Parking is limited to 3 CARS.
-Each property has parking limits based on capacity and/or potential rules of the Homeowner’s Association. Guests must abide by these limitations to protect the physical property and the space of neighbors. Additional vehicles must be parked in specified overflow parking areas. Trailers or RVs may not be parked at any property without permission. Excess vehicles may be towed.
-Access from parking to the front door requires climbing three steps.

Trash and Recycling
-Bagged trash and recycling will be collected after your departure. The local transfer station is also available during your stay should you need to dispose of trash.

Disclosures
-A signed rental agreement is required for all reservations
-Some of our homes are equipped with exterior cameras for security purposes. The home has a security camera aimed at the driveway.
-Cancellation policies are followed to ensure fairness to all guests and owners. We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance as exceptions cannot be made.
-Rural homes may encounter pests like bears, mice, lady beetles, and wasps. To minimize this, we ask that trash not be left outside. We actively manage these situations while prioritizing environmentally friendly methods and limiting the use of chemicals.
