Goldilocks cabin is a cozy retreat for a romantic getaway, and perfect for small families as well. The cabin is located on Stowe Hollow Road, a residential area of widely spaced lots, just 1 mile from Stowe village, eight miles to Mt. Mansfield and skiing, and just a few miles to the Pinnacle, one of the most spectacular hikes in Vermont. So, if you are looking for a secluded cabin in the woods, Goldilocks may not be your best choice, but if you want a charming and unique, conveniently located cabin, which is easily accessible in all weather conditions, Goldilocks is just right.

Goldilocks is well appointed with Black Forest and French antiques, and antler chandeliers--the perfect combination of rustic and luxury. The piping hot wood stove and the chiming cuckoo clock make this cabin a cozy retreat after a day of hiking or skiing. The large master bedroom has an antique four poster bed, complete with a sumptuous mattress, and a alcove with a desk. The sleeping loft (a favorite of older children) is accessed by a ladder and has a full size bed. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room, as well. The cabin has two decks a gas barbecue, and a fire pit. Goldilocks is pet-friendly. Well behaved, approved pets are always welcome.

There are a variety of restaurants on site along with many options within a short distance. The town was bustling even in the off season. The unit was fully furnished with items such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, and ample paper products. There were coffee pods and creamers as well. Salt and pepper were also included which helped when we prepared our own meals inside. The kitchen was furnished with a tea kettle, plates, bowls, silverware and coffee mugs. - "Jim was a wonderful and gracious host. He greeted us on check-in and showed us around and was readily available to answer questions. Property was great and perfect sized for our family of 5. Loved the towel warmer in the master bath. Only thing I didn't realize is that the two apartments aren't side-by-side, but the upstairs apartments living room is over the master, which was hard on Dad who is a light sleeper when they walked around. Garage is standard 20x20 where the charger is so if you have a larger vehicle it might not fit in with door closed. We had to take the bike hitch off our Tesla Y. Otherwise great property and will likely be back. Great easily location. First 25 ft of road were a little intimidating, but rest of it was very well maintained. Thanks so much Jim!"

The space:
Inside our fully log cabin you will find a first floor bedroom with 1 queen bed and a small workspace with a desk, a loft with 2 twin beds accessible via ladder, 1 full bathroom, a full kitchen stocked with pots, pans, plates, bowls, glasses and utensils, a small dining area that seats 4, and a living area with a loveseat sofa, bench and a Roku TV with guest mode where you can easily and temporarily sign-in to all of your personal streaming services. If you have a small child we do have a pack and play available in the laundry room at all times. We also have a ladder guard available to prevent climbing of the loft ladder and can set it up prior to your arrival with notice (it is always available in the utility room). There is also a spacious front porch that spans the front of the cabin, facing into the clearing and featuring tables and seating.

A large fire pit area is carved into the side of the hill in front of the cabin with a 4ft diameter fire pit and rustic log seating. Cut firewood, kindling, paper and a lighter are complimentary and are available in a basket on the front porch.

A gas barbecue grill is available for guests outside. Gas and BBQ tools are included.

Heat and AC are provided through 2 mini split pumps - one in the living area and the other in the main bedroom. They can be adjusted via the wall mounted controllers for your comfort.

A washer and dryer are available for guests in the utility room as well as an iron/ironing board and hair dryer. Free and clear detergent is available.

2 Pairs of adult snowshoes are available for your use during your stay during the winter months.

A drip coffee maker is available along with complimentary packets of coffee grounds and tea bags.

All bed sheets are 100% cotton. Towels are provided for guests. Liquid hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are available in the bathroom as well as rolls of toilet paper. Liquid dish soap, a new sponge, and a couple of rolls of paper towel are available in the kitchen.

Rest assured, this cabin has been cleaned by a very thorough housekeeper! Open floor plan with bedroom alcove, well-appointed kitchen, living room, and bathroom with shower and stacked washer/dryer. Vaulted pine-clad interior. Queen pillow-top mattress with hypo allergic snuggly warm comforter covered with flannel duvet in winter and lightweight quilt in summer. Screened in porch with soothing sounds of nearby brook to lull you away from your busy life into a forest world. Two comfortable recliners by a gas "wood" stove. Wi-Fi phone service. Ideal for a couple or one person longing for a quiet retreat. Bring your own food and cook your own meals... kitchen amenities include hand coffee grinder, French coffee press, coffee maker, teapot, small crock pot, air popper for popcorn, cookware, salad spinner, dishes, basically everything you need to prepare meals!

No more than two guests can fit comfortably in the cabin. No pets. Children are not recommended in this space. During winter, it’s best that you drive an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive auto. This is a lovely spot to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The views from the windows are serene and time on the screened porch breathing fresh air and listening to the brook below is irreplaceable.

Comfortable, warm, reflective and rustic hunting cabin; many people have rented it over the years for hunting or guys weekends; girls weekend away; skiers escape or just a romantic weekend away. With the high speed internet and amenities, I’ve used it to write books, reflect and just work. Being snowed it during the winter or just hiding away amidst the Fall foliage, it’s a fantastic and private retreat. The Full kitchen amenities and washer/Dryer, or the AC or cast iron Fireplace, make it a very comfortable place to retreat away.

Lilla Rustica is an elevated cabin among the trees. Private, with Stunning views this was built by "The Tree House Guys" a local Vermont company whom can be found having a season on the DIY network. Tons of detail, while keeping the design natural and simple. Excellent porch facing views of Camels hump State park. A loft with one queen bed and downstairs has a queen bed with three sides of the bed having windows facing the views. Hiking offered right from the cabin. An awesome getaway!

Lilla Rustica cabin in the trees has a beautiful nestled in feel with incredible views from all windows. One of the highlights is the downstairs queen bed. Surrounded on three sides by windows you can look at the stars while lying in bed, or perhaps hear dear walk under the cabin while sleeping. Feel far from it all while still close to route 100 in Vermont which has Ben and Jerry's, Prohibition Pig, Stowe, SugarBush and the Mad River Valley, Lawsons and The Alchemist breweries, Lot of swimming holes and tons of hiking and mountain biking.

Internet is provided as well as a small refrigerator, luxurious sheets and pillows. Stay warm and cozy inside the treehouse with a propane fireplace.
Water is limited up in the trees, but you will be provided with all you need of some of the best Spring water you may have ever tasted. There is not a shower at this point in Lilla Rustica. We hope in the future build an outdoor shower, but for longer stays there are swimming holes, gyms and spas close by. The toilet for the cabin is located just at the end of ramp from the front door. About 5 second walk. It is private for those staying in Lilla Rustica. It is a porta pottty built to look like an outhouse. The advantage to this is that is rarely used and only by those guests of the cabin as well as fully cleaned and emptied very often. Having a toilet up in the trees is difficult. We know how important a clean bathroom is to guests and we think you will be pleasantly surprised with the experience. Beautiful cups and dishes are provided, dish towels, sheets, water, a way to make coffee and a small single burner gas stove. This cabin is super cozy and perhaps best for a couple. The Treehouse is a simple, cozy, 100sq.ft. cabin for two. It's located 30min. from Burlington, VT in a small, rural town. There is no indoor plumbing, no bathroom. There’s a compost toilet 100 ft. away and an attached hot water outdoor shower. Limited solar electricity w/ 12v lights, usb outlets, and propane heater. Features a 3/4 full size bed, a dresser, and balcony. Kitchenette with a hand pump water faucet sink, no stove, no fridge, no utensils. Outdoor grill, fire pit, table/chairs. Self check in/out.
The Treehouse is conveniently located on a private lot halfway between Lake Champlain and Mt. Mansfield. There is parking for two cars, an RV, or truck/trailer. A path leads through the woods to the tree, a tenting area, and an old stone hut (no inside access).

My hunting cabin with a Bunk Room is on several hundred acres of wooded, mountainous land, 6miles to Montpelier, the state Capital with quaint shops, local bars and excellent local restaurants.

Using locally Vermont made cabinetry and products, with high-end amenities, appliances, stone shower with rain overhead shower, heated floors for those chilly nights, a VT casting stove, locally sourced Granite counter tops and gas stove and dual dishwasher. It’s the perfect get away.

The space
The cabin is built into two sections, built for privacy and intimacy. The bunk room really is ONE master room where the sleeping quarters are - I have listed this as 2 bedrooms - but from a construction standpoint, it is ONE Bedroom , two large living spaces- the Bunkroom is true family style - holds all the beds, and the adjacent room which is separated by a Vermont Barn Door for privacy, is for cooking , socializing and simply sitting by the fire place as you rock in the wooden rocking chair.

The Bunk Bed is used at your own risk (of course) but my kids LOVE sleeping on it. But again, any injuries resulting from its use, is the full and complete responsibility of the guest, guardian or tenant.

The wood cabinetry is Vermont craftsmanship at its best, with locally sourced Granite for the kitchen, Vermont cast iron stove , and specialty high end appliances from Italy to fit in consolidated spaces.

It’s truly an intimate cabin for the romantic get away, cross country skiing, Stowe ski vacation , hunting, Fall Foliage seeking tourist, or the business traveler or lobbyist coming to Vermont’s capital to work. It’s a perfect location for work or pleasure, with InternetTV - YoutubeTV/Hulu etc and wifi conveniences.

The bunk room is really “1 Room” but, it has several beds in it - the bunk bed is its own “space” so, I labeled this as “2Room” which isn’t in the conventional sense. The bunk room is separated by a Vermont barn door from the blended kitchen Farm Table dining room. It is a beautiful and intimate setting for a family, romantic couple or perfect for the business traveler.

It includes a man made pond which adds to the ascetics. The wild life, the birds, frogs, deer, the occasional bear and if you are lucky, the rare but occasional Moose - will completely relax your day. This explains the “water front” category - the view of the pond is pleasing.

POST COVID NOTE

Prior to your stay- we have enhanced cleaning procedures for my cabin to meet all prior COVID considerations, and to help serve you, you could text me your grocery and alcohol list no I’ll make sure you have your steaks, veggies and items waiting for you upon arrival - there are no “quarantine” restrictions. So, no need to worry.

There are NO cameras inside; there are security cameras outdoors to see wild life.

There is a hot water tank and washer/dryer combination unit in the closet behind the sliding door leading into the utility closet. There is an instruction guide on top of the washer/dryer combo unit - it automatically starts the dry cycle once the wash is completed. (high tech)

- Wifi: Is FIBER; its 1GB up and down; its very fast for conference calls, videos or streaming- internet TV Works well with 100's of channels; you can rent movies etc. Streaming movies NetFlix etc

- Casting Stove (Gas): There is a controller on the wall; you simply press the SET button until it begins to blink and then you increase or decrease the temperature. When the temperature is set above the room temperature, then the flame turns on.
- AC Mounted Unit: It runs effectively - controller is also on the wall; Press the power button and select the up or down buttons to turn on AC.
- There is a monitor work station to add a 2nd monitor for business travelers
- There drive way is about 100 yards long - it curves up and right. There are no lights on the drive way, so you will need to pay attention or turn your high beams on.
- You can use the WEBER Grill - just make certain to move it to the top of the ramp; (try to move it away from the front porch - the corner of the front porch or just at the top of the ramp).

Welcome to our treehouse inspired, modern cabin overlooking The Kenfield Brook on Terrill Gorge. We are located 5 miles from Stowe and its attractions, and just a few minutes from downtown Morrrisville with all its amenities. Just upstream from the picturesque Cady’s Fall swimming hole and across the brook from the amazing Cady’s Falls bike trails, our cabin is perched atop the hillside. With its simple, minimalist design it’s easy to immerse yourselves in nature and feel at home in the trees.

The space
Our cabin is small and cozy.
The path to the cabin is short and sweet, with a very accessible switchback style curves to make navigating the hillside easy. It is lit by party lights.
There is a very functional kitchenette with a 2 burner propane cooktop, a drip coffee maker, electric tea kettle, counter top oven, and mini-fridge with a freezer on top.
We provide coffee and tea and other simple staples. The kitchen is equipped with all the basics for cooking and enjoying easy meals in the cabin.
There is a cute shower with nice hot water and good pressure.
We have a composting toilet that is very simple to use. It is not possible to have traditional septic in this unique location.
Heating and cooling is provided by a small electric heat pump, very simple and no fuss.
We are a short walk away from the Black Diamond BBQ, a fantastic restaurant, bar, and catering company. They are open Thursday - Saturday and we love them.
Down by the cabin the Kenfield Brook babbles by. The brook sometimes looks more like a river when we have heavy rains or spring snowmelt so please take care while enjoying the surroundings!

The space
We spend most of our time in the living / dining room which is open to the kitchen. It's a bright space with many windows with mountain views in the winter and has a tree house feel with all the leaves in the summer. During the fall you can enjoy all the changing colors of the leaves.

The kitchen features a full-sized refrigerator and top freezer, a dishwasher, dishes, and cooking utensils to accommodate 6-8 people. Kitchen items included are: coffee grinder, Chemex / pour over coffee maker, Nespresso Pixie machine (original taller style pods), microwave, food processor, pots and pans, baking sheet, strainer, cutting boards.

We provide a speaker for your use while visiting.

There are two bedrooms each with a modern wooden barn door we built and hung. The larger bedroom has a queen sized bed (memory foam mattress with hypoallergenic cover) and the smaller bedroom has a set of bunk beds (twin-sized mattresses).

There is a diaper changing mat for your use (don’t leave baby unattended and be sure to use on stable surface). We have toys, games and puzzles available as well as some books and local guides.

Our bathroom has two windows, a tub / shower and new in 2021 Kenmore washer and dryer available for guest use.

There is a loft accessed via the wood ladder which features a TV with an Apple TV you can stream from and a futon sofa. It is carpeted and has three windows.

We have an entry room for gear, coats, shoes, etc.

Welcome to National! Wake up to the mountains in this lovely secluded Sterling Valley retreat, just 10 minutes from downtown Stowe. Cook in the full kitchen, relax in front of the 55" TV, and enjoy all the great Vermont outdoors has to offer right out of your door. A queen-sized sofa bed in the living room with Tuft & Needle mattress topper means friends and family stay in comfort, queen-sized bed features a Leesa mattress while a trundle and crib makes the twin room perfect for sleepovers.

Other things to note
Air condition is window units in the main living area and larger bedroom. Our house is on well water and at times can have a sulfur smell to it. This is naturally occurring and safe to drink. We do provide a Brita filter however for your convenience.

*Winter* Guests staying with us in the winter may not be able to drive directly to the house even if they have proper tires/vehicles for the conditions. To book in the winter you must have a 4wd/awd car with SNOW TIRES, not all-season tires or mud tires. While we have not personally had difficulties, guests ill-equipped tend to have trouble. If you choose to book in the winter with less than this you will likely have to walk to the house and even if you do have this equipment you may need to walk in certain weather conditions. If your vehicle does get stuck we are not liable and you will have to arrange a tow truck. Furthermore, we recommend bringing grippers/spikes for your shoes so you can safely walk up the drive should it become slippery. The walk is uphill and may be slippery so please pack accordingly. Plowing may not be available first thing in the morning and the plow trucks only come when there is at least 4 inches of snow to not destroy their equipment. Even with an AWD or 4WD vehicle with snow tires you may not be able to drive up the driveway. If all this doesn't sound ok to you please cancel your stay. We're excited to host you but just want to make sure you're prepared! If you love our space but don't have the equipment for winter be sure to stay with us in the summer!

Goldilocks is a cozy retreat for a romantic getaway, and perfect for small families as well. The cabin is located on Stowe Hollow Road, a residential area of widely spaced lots, just 1 mile from Stowe village, 8 miles to Mt. Mansfield and skiing. So, if you are looking for a secluded cabin in the woods, Goldilocks may not be your best choice, but if you want a charming and unique, conveniently located cabin, which is easily accessible in all weather conditions, Goldilocks is for you.

Goldilocks is well appointed with Black Forest and French antiques, and antler chandeliers--the perfect combination of rustic and luxury. The piping hot wood stove and the chiming cuckoo clock make this cabin a cozy retreat after a day of hiking or skiing. Conveniently located just four miles from Stowe village on a country road, Lazy Bear Lodge offers a peaceful setting with expansive views toward Mount Mansfield. This location also provides easy access to some of the best recreational areas—Moss Glen Falls, a local favorite, is just around the corner! You’ll love the spacious yard for games, the large private pond for wildlife watching, and the firepit area with seats for the whole crew. The home also boasts a basketball hoop, six-person hot tub, and a large wrap-around deck—an ideal spot for enjoying sunsets and starry skies.
Inside, this home sleeps up to 8 with four large and roomy bedrooms spread over three levels. The spacious kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and utensils for cooking family-style meals unless you prefer to BBQ and dine al fresco on the deck. The main level is home to a large living room with a gas fireplace and big comfy couches. Downstairs features a bonus family room for hanging out, playing games, and watching movies with surround sound (there is a closet chocked full of games, books, and movies to enjoy)! You’ll appreciate the heated floors in the areas of the home you’d want them most. Adirondack style furnishings and tasteful woodwork are showcased throughout.

If this occurs, the reservation will be canceled without refunds and guests will be asked to vacate the property.
