if you’re staying in the summer you’ll enjoy the air conditioning to help cool

games or building the perfect snowman.

Upstairs you'll find the master bedroom with a king bed and a full bath, while

the downstairs has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and an additional

bathroom allowing for six people to sleep comfortably. If your clothes need a

bit of a refresh after a long stay, take advantage of the washer and dryer

downstairs.

This home is close to Stowe Resort home to great trails and plenty of family

fun. Snowmobiling abounds in the area in the winter, while summer gives way to

plentiful biking, hiking, kayaking, fishing, and golf. Enjoy the local

You'll be surrounded by the best, most farm-to-table food in Vermont, including Canteen Creemee, recently highlighted in the New York Times (check their Instagram and be prepared to drool).

Our home is easy to get to, even in the snow. We are right off (less than a minute) Main St. in Waitsfield, with no scary mountain roads in the winter, and a short driveway. Note: 4WD and snow tires are necessary EVERYWHERE in Vermont from Mid-March to Mid-May due to "mud season."

Our place is decorated in art by local artists, filled with books by local authors, and furniture made by local artisans. We've provided all of our favorite places to see, eat, drink, and do, including suggested itineraries for having the best weeks and weekends in the Mad River Valley in any season.

While our second floor bannisters are not toddler-friendly, we do have a toddler ourselves, and have provided all the amenities you could need: a baby gate, high chair, changing table, walker, mini crib, and pack & play. All you need to bring are your baby's linens.

We try to help everyone have the most quintessential Vermont vacation and will help with lots of ideas for unique experiences (like picnicking atop a gorgeous hill with the most scenic views in the Valley or where to get Sunday Pie and tea at a cute little inn with a lovely backyard)! - "We had a lovely family visit in the Vermont mountains thanks to our property owners. We had 6 adults, 1 teenager, 1 elementary school- aged child and 1 infant. The house was spacious and it’s architecture is unique unique. There were many amenities available including cell phone chargers. Amanda, our hostess, was very quickly responsive to every question and need that we had. She was amazingly helpful. It was a great space for an infant with a crib, changing table , high chair and bottle sterilizer all available. As mentioned in the host’s description of the property this might not be the place for a toddler or younger child given the slats along the upstairs railing are wide enough to fall through. So I would discuss with Amanda if I had a young crawling or walking child prior to renting it. My family enjoyed shopping, hiking and eating at various restaurants plus we were able to easily cook at home. The backyard view was beautiful as well. We had a wonderful time and if we were in the area again we would rent the home again."

Beautiful mountain chalet just steps away from Bolton Valley Resort and Mountain Bike Park in Bolton, Vermont. Best backcountry access in the state for hiking and a new Gravity Logic mt bike park! All the amenities, two private bedrooms with 2 full baths, amazing spot on the ski (and bike) trails, and just 30 minutes from Burlington and the airport. Sports center with indoor tennis and pickleball, indoor and outdoor pools, hot tub, sauna within walking distance, and great food and bars.

The space
It's the quintessential ski chalet experience here at Bolton Valley. The big stone hearth screams for wine and cheese parties complete with fondue and furry moon boots. But don't worry, everything is mostly up to date, including high-speed wifi and smart TV's. Garden hose for washing those bikes off after some muddy rides as well! Outside closet available as well for storing bikes and other gear.

Guest access
The place is yours, except for a couple rooms we keep locked with our stuff in them. We love this place and are at the house more than half the time. So there are always extra hand-warmers or other miscellaneous pieces of gear available to borrow if you forgot stuff.

Other things to note
Summer 2025 at Bolton Valley is super exciting because it’s the 5th summer of operation for the resort’s world-class mountain bike park built by Gravity Logic. Three brand new flow trails are coming online and the lifts are open Wednesdays thru Sundays until sunset well into October - and are open for scenic rides up and/or down as well. Live music on the lawn a couple days a week through the summer months, and awesome indoor & outdoor food. All within a 5-minute walk or 1-minute bike ride from the house. There are also some of the state’s finest microbreweries within about 20-30 minutes in every direction! Mountain living at its best.

The space
This 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is truly an entertainer’s dream. There is a large open concept kitchen/dining/living area that flows into the bar/game room. The master bedroom upstairs features a walk-in closet and a full en-suite bathroom with shower and soaking tub. There is a second bedroom and full bath upstairs. The finished walkout basement, complete with two additional bedrooms, bathroom, large laundry room, wine cellar and designated home theater provides additional space to spread out.

The home is full of high-end finishes, custom stone, marble and tile and comes fully stocked with all cookware, glassware, utensils and small appliances. The chef’s kitchen features granite countertops, a double refrigerator and opens up to a full granite bar and game room. It is perfect for both a quick getaway, as well as a long-term stay.

This house is meant for large family gatherings as well as for someone looking for complete privacy. The 7 acre lot borders the Mount Mansfield State Forest, providing direct access to thousands of acres of wilderness, Vermont's Long Trail, exceptional views and hiking/snow shoeing opportunities.

While deceivingly remote, the property is a short drive to a number of local destinations. World-class skiing is available at Stowe Resort (25 minutes), Smugglers Notch (30 minutes) and Jay Peak (50 minutes), along with the Trapp Family Lodge (20 minutes) cross-country network and numerous nearby VAST access points. Picturesque hiking trails and waterfalls, incredible fishing, and gorgeous golf courses are also nearby.

Foodie? You’ll be just minutes from downtown Morrisville or Stowe’s vibrant restaurant scene, as well as Rock Art Brewery, Stowe Cider and Smugglers’ Notch Distillery.

Four wheel drive is highly advisable in the winter and spring months.

The house has a whole-house generator to keep the lights on during winter storms. The house can theoretically remain off-grid for about a week, though the limits of the generator have not been pushed - power outages are typically resolved in 24 hours or less.
