So, if you are looking for a secluded cabin in the woods, Goldilocks may not be your best choice, but if you want a charming and unique, conveniently located cabin, which is easily accessible in all weather conditions, Goldilocks is just right.

Goldilocks is well appointed with Black Forest and French antiques, and antler chandeliers--the perfect combination of rustic and luxury. The piping hot wood stove and the chiming cuckoo clock make this cabin a cozy retreat after a day of hiking or skiing. The large master bedroom has an antique four poster bed, complete with a sumptuous mattress, and a alcove with a desk. The sleeping loft (a favorite of older children) is accessed by a ladder and has a full size bed. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room, as well. Our cozy farmhouse is nestled into the west slope of Pleasant Valley, with a commanding view of majestic Mt. Mansfield. In the midst of 180 very private acres of pristine woodlands and breathtaking mountain views, the bedrooms are cozy and the kitchen/dining and living rooms are open space, light and airy. Built originally in 1865, recent renovations ensure everything is clean, solid and functionally sound without sacrificing the country feel of an old Vermont farmhouse. Decorated in warm colors, each room has its own charm and character. The master bedroom is on the ground floor in its own “wing,” with two beds, a queen and a twin, and a private full bath. The other two bedrooms are upstairs and share a full bathroom – the one to the right has four twins; the one to the left has a queen and a twin. We have one child-size roll-away and one crib. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for cooking gourmet feasts. Our washer and dryer ensure that you are ready for anything, whether you brought enough clothes or not.

Underhill, Jeffersonville and the surrounding area offer an abundance of distractions for every taste. Outdoor enthusiasts will find adventure in exploring the network of trails right outside our door, whether for cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, sledding, toboganning, mountain biking, hiking or simply walking (we have some equipment, and you can rent snowshoes and bikes for the day or week at our local stores). Underhill’s got one of the best sledding hills anywhere, and that’s just a five minute drive. If you prefer to take walks on the woods trails or on beautiful country roads, you’ll be stunned by the beauty and majesty of the unspoiled land and Mt. Mansfield.

This treasure is a place to get away from the hustle, to fill your lungs with truly fresh air, and to “re-charge your batteries.” With our own pond right off the deck, swimming (summer) and skating (winter) are available on impulse. Our larder is loaded with teas, coffees, hot chocolate, and other cooking/eating essentials, which you are welcome to use, though we ask that they be replaced if usage is heavy. Our caretaker and housekeeper will be happy to pitch in if you’d like their help while at the house. When we say 'vacation house,' we mean it!

As for skiing, Smuggler’s Notch Ski Resort (known to locals as “Smuggs”, only 15-20 minutes away) offers groomed cross-country ski trails, a skating arena, and excellent downhill skiing and snow-boarding. Stowe is just 45 minutes away (or you can ski to it from Smuggs) and Jay Peak is about the same. If variety is a compulsion, Sugarbush and Mad River are about an hour south.

For those seeking more pastoral or cerebral activities, there is no lack of beautiful vistas for the photographer and artist; there are antique shops, art galleries, farmers markets, restaurants, theatres, and shops all within a 40 minute radius, including Stowe village, Jeffersonville and Vermont’s largest city, Burlington. And the turn of seasons in fall is utterly spectacular as Vermont’s legendary sugar maples put on their riotous display of leafy colors.

As the sun sets and the incredibly clear sky shows off a plethora of stars and constellations, you can come home to relax and toast your toes in front of the big stone fireplace, far from the noise and hectic pace of resort villages with their condos, dense living and commercial traffic. My place is close to Stowe, Smuggler`s Notch and within 15 minutes of 6 breweries. You can experience art and culture, 3 major ski resorts, snow machine trails, farms, hiking trails, lakes and 3 miles from the down town shopping plazas. It is nestled in the woods with some views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families. Our bedrooms offer a create a king to accommodate guests who prefer a king bed and guests who prefer twin beds.

Our cabins are nestled in the woods of the Green Mountains and only a short distance from ski resorts, hiking/snowshoeing trails and several breweries.

We are always available through the phone and we are more than likely going to be around our own house if anything should arise.

Our neighborhood is a small quaint town. We are located on a country road with a few farms close by but only 3 miles from the local shopping centers, three breweries and the rail trail. We are located in a centralized location in Vermont. Just 15 minutes to Stowe.

ATTENTION! This cabin is SMOKE FREE. We do not allow smoking.

We do allow up to two dogs in the cabins. Please keep your dog on a leash. We are not responsible for any actions due to your dog`s behavior. We provide a doggy basket that has towels and sheets to protect the furniture and food and water dishes. We ask that the dogs be kenneled when left unattended. We charge a $25 dog fee per night with a $100 cap. We will refund you the difference if you are staying more than 4 nights. Thank you for choosing Serene Country Cabins.

WELCOME!
The Mansfield House is a lovely and spacious mountain home located on the western slope of Mt. Mansfield and near Smugglers Notch/Madonna Mt Bolton Valley, and Cochran ski areas (20 minute drive to each). A vacation here is filled with a wide range of seasonal activities for the active and the relaxed.

INTERESTED IN SKIING STOWE?
While we are very close to Stowe Mountain Resort as the crow flies, we're actually on the *other side* of Mount Mansfield. In the summer, driving to Stowe takes 30 min via 108 to the north. In the winter, you have to go south to I-89 which takes 60 min. From our house, the closest downhill skiing option is Smugglers Notch Resort, which is 20 min away. If you're just interested in the town of Stowe, it's a 45-minute drive whether you go north or south.

SURROUNDINGS
Our 100-acre property is mostly wooded and borders Underhill State Park to the east. The two main trailheads for Mt. Mansfield are just a 5 minute drive from the house. Feel free to explore the property but keep in mind that there are two other homes in the vicinity with full-time residents: a cottage across the large driveway from the main house (inhabited by the property owners) and our neighbors' house just up the hill from our pond.

BEDROOM HIGHLIGHTS
There are two sleeping areas at opposite ends of the house. Two bedrooms (queen and king beds) are at the northern end of the house, with a shared bathroom featuring a field stone wall, tile, and walk-in shower. The southern end of the house features a bunkroom and 2 queen bedrooms, one with a twin trundle bed. There is a shared bathroom for these rooms, featuring a Vermont slate floor, vessel sink, and tub/shower. Also at this end of the house is the Master bedroom with king Tempur-pedic bed and a large en suite bathroom with walk-in shower and sweeping view of Mount Mansfield. All the bedrooms have been recently renovated and each has lovely linens and quilts.

INTERIOR HIGHLIGHTS
The interior features cathedral ceilings, a large living room with field stone fireplace, and a field stone wall in the dining area, as well as wide oak and brick floors. Lovely views delight visitors from every window.

An open kitchen/dining area is at the center of the house. The 12-person birdseye maple dining room table has a sweeping view of Mt. Mansfield. This open area is wonderful for group cooking and socializing while enjoying the colors of a magnificent sunset.

There is a den off the kitchen with a second fireplace, sofa bed, and a second TV - nice for movies, cozy chats, or quiet reading. This space is also wonderful for children's movies, board games, or a quick escape from the bustle of the household.

We also take great pride in a very clean house - all the rooms are cleaned professionally using only all natural products.

OUTDOOR HIGHLIGHTS
The outdoor hot tub is available for soaking, while gazing up at Mt. Mansfield, or the stars.

The pond is stocked with trout yearly and is great for fly-fishing and swimming.

The one acre pond, great for swimming and floating (bring your own please), sandy beach, beautifully landscaped lawns and gardens, and walking/XC skiing (or snowshoe) trails offer both activity and quiet, suitable for the energetic and the serene.

Looking for the country life and time with family or friends? You will love this setting.

Two very popular Vermont destinations are close: Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory is 30 minutes away, and the Shelburne Museum, a large and fascinating 'living' museum is 45 minutes away. Lake Champlain, UVM, and St. Michaels College are all within easy reach. Hunting is possible in the area but not on the property please. Space for badminton, croquet, and soccer behind house, visible from kitchen and living room. Large swimming pond in front field.

The resort offers an OFF road driving school, great hiking, and a unique swimming hole for summer fun.
For the winter ... a ski in/ski out experience. Radiant heat and extra large hot water heater makes for a warm comfortable night after a day of skiing. The resort offers 3 peaks for alpine skiing and 1900 acres of cross country trials. If you are staying in, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything to make meals, streaming on the smart TV and games to keep everyone busy.

Ten Springs Farm, at the foot of Mt. Mansfield, is a newly renovated 1840’s Vermont farmhouse owned by our family since 1956. Surrounded by open fields and beautiful views of the Green Mountains, it is close to a multitude of recreational, cultural and culinary activities.
Smuggler’s Notch is 20 minutes away, Bolton Valley 35 and Stowe one hour. Burlington and Lake Champlain less than an hour. Close to the house are two sledding hills, hiking and biking trails and groomed Nordic tracks.
The house is light, spacious and comfortable. Plan to create your own meals in our well equipped eat-in kitchen or enjoy a summer sunset while grilling your dinner on the back patio. There are also plenty of lawn and board games for at-home entertainment as well as 2 smart TVs.
Guests have access to the entire house. Parking is available on site. The owner lives in attached apartment.
We welcome up to two dogs per stay. The pet fee is $35 per night. Pre-approval is required.

The grounds provided room to roam. The pond was fun for frog and tadpole hunting. We did not find a grill for Friday night dinner. We are conveniently located near many ski mountains, the closest being Bolton Ski Resort only about 5 miles away. It boasts 71 Alpine trails for skiing and riding, as well as 100 km of Nordic terrain that includes extensive array of backcountry trails. It is also one of the very few ski mountains that has night skiing! Bolton Valley offers one of the best downhill mountain biking from Spring to Fall. As well, Richmond has a great network of mountain biking trails off of Cochran Road that you can also enjoy. 5 miles away you can hike to the summit of Camels Hump (State Park) where you will stand at a peak of 4083 Feet and enjoy the 360-degree Mountain View’s, parking is also available at the foot of the Mountain. For the golf lovers we have the beautiful West Bolton Golf Club that is conveniently located about 10 minutes from the property! When you're all done, head back to your retreat and sit around a warm fire and enjoy the peacefulness of country living. Watch Tv or enjoy playing some of the many board games we have available. During the warm summer months, we are within minutes of swimming holes notched between huge rock formations that will take your breath away and are worth your time to explore. Not a swimmer, no problem you can bring your canoe/kayak/paddle board down to the Winooski River at the end of the road and float down the river. Or head on over to the Waterbury Reservoir where you can rent all of these summer toys and enjoy hanging out on the water, all while enjoying the gorgeous mountain views. In the Winter months an all wheel drive with good winter tires is a must!! We live on a steep road and a proper vehicle is imperative:)

- "We had a great time staying at this property! Unfortunately the first night we arrived the remnants of a hurricane was making it's way through and knocked down some trees and power lines. Because the power was out, we also were without water because the water pump didn't have power to pump the water up to the houses. Definitely a one off event, but Kimberly and the family were extremely accommodating and provided us with access to their nearby property with a private loft where we were able to use the bathroom facilities. The power company worked quickly and got the trees removed and powerlines back up by the following afternoon, so it was smooth sailing after that! We are a family of 6, so this house was more than enough room for us. Everything is a pictured and very clean. We come from NJ, 15 minutes outside of NY, so stepping outside at night to a sky full of stars was such an experience. This property is centrally located to everything we wanted to see and do, everything was within a 20-30 minute drive. We took a day and drove up to Montreal and spent the day in the city which is full of quaint shops, excellent food, and so much culture to take in. If you like hiking, definitely venture over to Mt. Mansfield! We are not hikers at all, and made it up to a spot at 3,000 ft. where you can see the entire valley, it's breathtaking. Because of the storm, we didn't get a chance to take advantage of the nearby river for swimming and canoeing, but we would have loved to. "

The studio has everything you would need for your stay. There's a cute gazebo, treehouse and tire swing in the backyard. The host was very communicative, informing us of the need of an AWD car, warning of cops ticketing for speeding, and even provided 2 eclipse glasses for us (a very nice gesture which I appreciated!). Rest assured, this cabin has been cleaned by a very thorough housekeeper! Open floor plan with bedroom alcove, well-appointed kitchen, living room, and bathroom with shower and stacked washer/dryer. Vaulted pine-clad interior. Queen pillow-top mattress with hypo allergic snuggly warm comforter covered with flannel duvet in winter and lightweight quilt in summer. Exquisite, newly constructed, private apartment situated in quiet wooded area next to Mt Mansfield in the Green Mountains of VT. This is a unique Vermont location. We are right next to Mt. Mansfield and almost in the Green Mountain State Forest but with easy access to the city of Burlington. Short drives to Smugglers Notch and Bolton Valley Ski Areas. Some of the best hiking in VT in the Green Mountains is right here - Mt Mansfield (the tallest peak in VT) is in our backyard. Excellent cross country skiing right here- local trails on the west side of Mt. Mansfield or other areas in our neighborhood. Easy drive to Lake Champlain and Burlington for great night life. Scenic bike rides on local roads with views of the mountains.

(Note regarding access to Stowe. We are on the West Side of Mt. Mansfield and Stowe Resort is on the east. In summer the drive is about 30 to 40 minutes via Rte 108. In the winter, Rte 108 is closed and Stowe must be accessed through I-91 and Waterbury which is about 45 mins to an hour drive.)

- "Loved the space for so many of us to hang out and relax. Close to town and plenty of room for a small game of bocce in the front yard! Plenty of towels and linens, extra blankets and lots of fans (for each room) for the summer months." - "We were 13. The Harvest and Carriage Houses suited our needs of a springboard for activities around Stowe." - "old but clean can hold a lot of people" - "The houses together were big enough to fit all 15 of us! When we arrived we found old pizza in one of the fridges, soda cans under the beds and crumbs all over the counters! The smaller house has several windows without screens, no blinds or curtains for privacy in the living room and kitchen. It was very hot when we visited and without screens we couldn’t open windows without letting all the bugs in; we were very uncomfortable! Despite the heat, some of the grandkids wanted to try the sauna in the evening, but it wasn’t working, or at least we could not figure out how to make it work! The basement room in the small house was very musty and smelled of mildew! On a good note, VACASA was very responsive when the refrigerators stopped working. They came right out and fixed them! As far as the property itself the best part is the size, but otherwise we were disappointed!"

This 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath Bolton Valley ski in/ski out townhouse offers comfort, privacy, convenience, and a view from every room -- making it the perfect place to call home while exploring all Vermont has to offer.

Located in the Bolton Valley Ski Resort, with the Timberline Run just steps from the back door, this townhouse is perfect for a winter ski vacation, summer hiking trip, or a fall foliage getaway. Ski in and Ski out is serviced by the Timberline lift - depending on mountain conditions that lift may not always be open.

Each of the 3 bedrooms has its own en suite bathroom, allowing for each guest to enjoy their own space. The master bedroom, complete with king size bed and jetted tub, is located on the 3rd floor with mountain views and is separated from the other bedrooms, creating the perfect private oasis.

Private off road parking for 2 cars. Two flights of steps from the parking to the front door. In winter, steps may have ice and snow on them, so use caution!

The open concept main living space is complete with gas fireplace , high speed internet (approx 40Mbps), and big screen TV, making it the perfect place to unwind from exploring the Bolton Valley's 5,000 acres and perhaps enjoy one of the many local Vermont brews while streaming your favorite movie. Bolton Valley has the highest base elevation of any ski area in Vermont, so in winter you can often expect it to be snowing at this home when it’s raining in the valley, and in summer it’s often cooler here with typical highs in the upper 70’s. However it can reach the 90’s. The home does not have air conditioning. Two of the bedrooms are first floor and stay naturally cool, the third story bedroom can get warm and has a ceiling fan. We also have two tower fans for your use. Closing all the West facing blinds during the day helps to keep the place cool!

Summer 2025 at Bolton Valley is super exciting because it’s the 5th summer of operation for the resort’s world-class mountain bike park built by Gravity Logic. Three brand new flow trails are coming online and the lifts are open Wednesdays thru Sundays until sunset well into October - and are open for scenic rides up and/or down as well. Live music on the lawn a couple days a week through the summer months, and awesome indoor & outdoor food. All within a 5-minute walk or 1-minute bike ride from the house.
