Unplug and connect with nature at Sage Mountain Botanical Sanctuary, a 600 acre preserve. We have been hosting guests since 1987. The facilities at this wilderness oasis are rustic but comfortable with miles of trails, acres of gardens and a nearby pond. The Pixie Cabin features beautiful garden views, a built in twin bed, electricity and a wood stove. Shower room, bathroom, and community kitchen are shared with other guests in separate buildings.

The space
The Pixie Cabin is one of four cabins at Sage Mountain. Check out the Ladyslipper Lodge, the Birch Bungalow, and the Maple Forest Yurt on Airbnb for our other cabins. Please read our descriptions carefully to understand the layout of our retreat center and shared spaces with other guests.

The Pixie Cabin is our smallest private cabin offering beautiful views into the gardens. * Please note, two guests can enjoy the Pixie Cabin, but it is primarily built for a single guest. It has a built-in twin bed, a writing desk, and a rocking chair.*

This cabin has electricity and is heated by a small potbelly wood stove. Our common shower room is located in a separate building with two showers and two sinks; restrooms with two toilets and a sink are located in a separate building. The fully stocked community kitchen includes all amenities to prepare your meals for the weekend; optionally our onsite chef can cater meals for an additional charge. We also offer private garden, forest, and wildlife tours as well as massage therapy sessions for additional fee.

The Cabin is situated overlooking four acres of diverse gardens with medicinal herbs and flowers, and a short walk to our trail network with over ten miles of hiking trails through the mountain. A spring-fed swimming pond offers a refreshing spot for swimming at the south end of the property, a hike or short drive from your cabin.

Sage Mountain has been a retreat center for over three decades hosting guests since 1987, and is a pillar for conservation in the community. We are located on unceded Abenaki territory in Central Vermont, providing a remote wilderness retreat in convenient proximity to Groton State Forest and Montpelier.

Renowned herbalist Rosemary Gladstar's home and teaching center of thirty years is indelibly marked by the grace, wisdom and love of plants that she has shared with the thousands of students who have been touched by this wild mountain. We’re less than 10 minutes away from downtown Barre, where you can find great restaurants and see the beautiful architecture of the area. We are a short drive from a lot of charming and beautiful towns, such as Stowe, Randolph, Shelburne, Burlington and Montpelier.We have a nice guide of the area with recommendations of what to do around here that we will share with you a day prior to your arrival.

Welcome to your cozy studio in beautiful Montpelier, Vermont. We live 3 miles out of town. The views are stunning. There are hiking and skiing trails out your door. We built this apartment above our garage in 2015. It's detached from our house and private. It features two single beds, a fold-out full size futon, a couch, and a bathroom with a composting toilet.

We also have an outdoor shower with hot water!

All people are welcome here! We look forward to hosting you.

The space
We love living so close to Vermont's state capitol and yet surrounded by beautiful forests, meadows, and mountain views. Our house is just across a walkway from the apartment, but you will likely not see us as the two spaces are private and separate from each other.
There are many ponds, lakes, rivers and swimming holes near us. We have a canoe you can borrow. There are also quite a few incredible mountain hikes nearby. If you want to go for a walk in the woods, you can always just head out the studio door and explore the many miles of trails behind our house.
We love the food in downtown Montpelier and especially enjoy our local Natural Foods Co-op and the Saturday Farmers Market. There are great restaurants that offer anything from amazing local food to craft beer and cocktails. We're only 30 miles from Burlington if you want to explore another city and about the same distance from Stowe as well. We're happy to make recommendations for you if you let us know what you're looking for during your time in Vermont.

We have a wood fired cedar sauna that's part of this studio apartment. If you would like to use the sauna as part of your stay, message us and let us know. For an additional charge of $25 per sauna, you can add this amenity to your stay.
I am a culinary medicine educator and personal chef. If you would like a meal prepared for you as part of your stay, you can let me know! For an additional charge of $15 per person, I would be happy to prepare breakfast or a picnic lunch that meets your dietary needs.

Unique bunkhouse accommodation with design funk in a rural setting on a little horse farm. We are only 5 miles from downtown Stowe but it is out of the hustle and bustle tucked on a dead end dirt road where it’s actually dark at night and you can see the stars. The kitchen has a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker: perfect for your breakfast and packing a lunch. We bet you might want to go out for dinner at one of the many amazing places there are within 5 miles from The Bunkhouse.

The space
The barn Bunkhouse is a quiet property and perfect for an active stay in the area. 450 sq. ft./ two level kitchenette, cafe table, bathroom with shower and upstairs a comfy queen bed and pair of club chairs. If you’re into biking or hiking we are right in the middle of it here in Sterling Valley. We can even assist in route-planning if you’d like some ideas! Stowe MT Resort is about 12 miles away.

Great food options in Morrisville or Stowe, we are equidistant from the two. Bakeries, breweries, burgers… all the things. Come enjoy a unique property and a little bit of farm life. Cowboy the pony has the best nicker in the morning!
Please note: we live in an area where it is all dirt roads. They are well maintained by the town.
Also: We do everything we can to respect the peace and quiet in the morning on our property (we realize you're on vacation and may want to sleep in !). However, we are a seize-the-day kinda place and have horses to feed, bikes to ride and mountains to climb. Please expect a certain level of activity here as the norm. :-)

The Birch Bungalow is an off-grid cabin featuring a family-friendly layout offering beautiful views into the forest. This cabin does not have electricity but has propane- and battery-powered lights.

Our common shower room with two showers and two sinks, and our restrooms with two toilet stalls and a sink, are located in separate buildings. The fully stocked community kitchen includes all amenities to prepare your meals for the weekend. These facilities are shared with guests of our four other cabins. We also offer private garden, forest, and wildlife tours as well as massage therapy sessions for additional fee.

The Birch Bungalow is situated near four acres of diverse gardens with medicinal herbs and flowers, and a short walk to our trail network with over ten miles of hiking trails through the mountain. A swimming pond offers a refreshing spot for swimming at the south end of the property.

Welcome to Northfield! Our guest apartment is a great place to stay while visiting Norwich University or just sightseeing through the lovely Green Mountain State.

We are a two-minute walk from Norwich University and local hiking trails, and a 20-minute drive from Montpelier, the state capital.

The cottage is a 1 bedroom loft, open floor plan with a queen size bed. The downstairs has a full kitchen, bathroom, pull out small couch and gas fireplace. We are located within walking distance to amazing downtown shops and restaurants.

Our cozy cottage is detached from our house. It has an open floor plan with a gas fireplace. You can hear the sound of Thatcher Brook behind the house. It is conveniently located within walking distance to our great downtown restaurants and village shopping. Mountain bike trails are easily accessible, and we are located 30 minutes from Stowe and Sugarbush resorts.

Guests will have access to the entire cottage and small back deck. There will be one parking space available, adjacent to the cottage. There is room for small children and there is a pack in play in the upstairs closet.

We have a beautiful, one bedroom apartment, above our heated garage, separate from our farmhouse. It has a private entrance. There is a very private deck off the back. It is less than a mile from Stowe Village. It is brand new, clean and beautifully furnished. It's very quiet, yet close to town. You'll love your stay!
