Franklin Manor was built circa 1896 by D.W. Riddle as the old Wilkshire Manor Cottage and is on the National Register of Historic Places. From the years of 1952 to 1998, Franklin Manor became a Monastery for the Carmelites.

The Manor was thoughtfully renovated to be a perfect blend of classic Victorian and modern and still features much of the original woodwork.

All guests have access to the entire first floor except the owner's suite located in the back of the house. Shared spaces include the parlor, living room, dining room, library, sunroom, and front porch. All bathrooms are private except for the powder room in the first floor parlor. Guests also share a microwave and mini fridge in the St. Elias lounge located on the second floor across from the stairs. There is no access to the basement, attic, or third floor.

This 2 or 3 room suite can be rented in various combinations depending on the size and needs of your group. Two rooms have 1 queen bed and the third room has 2 Twin Beds. The third room is an additional up charge of $100-$125 depending on the season. For groups of 4 or less you can choose 2 rooms with 1 queen bed in each room OR a room with a Queen Bed and a room with two twin beds. For groups of 5 or 6 you get all three rooms. The added charge will automatically be added when you enter 5 or 6 people. Please specify your preferred room configuration at check out as well. All three rooms share one bathroom and are accessed by a private staircase. These rooms are perfect for a group of friends or a small family looking to have their own private space. These rooms have beautiful views of the Adirondack Mountains and overlook our gardens. Breakfast is included. (For those of you that have stayed with us before this suite used to be 3 private rooms that shared a bath. For safety reasons, we felt that separate parties sharing a bathroom was no longer viable.)

Franklin Manor was built circa 1896 by D.W. Riddle as the old Wilkshire Manor Cottage and is on the National Register of Historic Places. From the years of 1952 to 1998, Franklin Manor became a Monastery for the Carmelites.

The Manor was thoughtfully renovated to be a perfect blend of classic Victorian and modern and still features much of the original woodwork.

All guests have access to the entire first floor except the owner's suite located in the back of the house. Shared spaces include the parlor, living room, dining room, library, sunroom, and front porch. All bathrooms are private except for the powder room in the first floor parlor. Guests also share a microwave and mini fridge in the St. Elias lounge located on the second floor across from the stairs. There is no access to the basement, attic, or third floor.

Saint Gertrude is a generously-sized room tucked away from other guests on the second floor of a Queen Anne style mansion. Our largest en-suite porch at 8x18 feet, it is surely a place to rest and relax with a nice glass of wine! This suite includes a king size bed and plenty of storage space in the closet. Private bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower is in the hall adjacent to the bedroom.

Franklin Manor has 5 rooms currently that are open and available to accommodate parties of 1 and up to 10. Each room has one bed (either king or queen depending on the listing) and can only accommodate up to 2 guests. Please view our other listings on Airbnb and Vrbo to reserve single rooms.

We are currently serving a light menu from 7-8am (changes daily and is seasonally based), and will serve coffee, tea, and other drinks for breakfast. Coffee, tea, and snacks are provided in the dining area anytime.
