- "Conrad and Pat were so welcoming, their house was adorable, and breakfast was superb!" - "Perfect location near downtown Brattleboro. Convenient, easy walk to shops, restaurants, museums. Pat and Conrad were warm, welcoming hosts. Conrad's homemade bread was delicious. I'm returning in October for his homemade English muffins and for some leaf peeping in the Green Mountains and the White Mountains just across the river. My room was very comfortable, with a comfy loveseat tucked under the corner windows for a perfect reading nook and what was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in."

Wow! We're allowed 10,000 words to describe our astonishing property! Really, all you have to do is look at 10 photographs and you'll get a pretty good idea, but please allow us to briefly (don't worry, less than 10,000 words!) describe the gem that is the Green River Bridge House.
Located in the tiny hamlet of Green River, at the intersection River Road and the Jacksonville Stage Road, the 200-year-old bridge house was once the center of a bustling little village. Directly next to the inn sits a covered bridge. There was a mill at one time, and the bridge house, built about 1832, was the town's post office for decades. Remodeled in 2009 as a bed & breakfast, the inn has earned a reputation for personalized service, great food and a setting that is literally the most beautiful spot in the world. These aren't our words, these are the reactions of guests and patrons to this exquisite location. Imagine:
A 200-year-old Vermont covered bridge
A dam made of timber and stone spanning the rocky Green River and forming the prettiest swimming hole you've ever seen.
A totally rural setting in the middle of the Vermont forest, with winding dirt roads, themselves gorgeous trails for hiking or riding
Farms and meadows and scenery that begs to be photographed or painted or simply gazed at in peace
And smack in the middle of this spectacular scenery sits the Green River Bridge Inn.
With three beautiful and comfortable guest rooms the house comfortably accomodates six, with one additional bed available if needed. You'll have the run of the house; it will be your home. Included in the public spaces on the main floor are the main dining room, a cozy bar for wine and beer, and a lounge room for reading, remote work or fiddling with the jigsaw puzzle.
Just off the dining room is the inn's heart, the beautiful kitchen. Guests may utilize the refrigerator, prepare their own meals or opt for the home-style, delicious comfort food prepared by our chef. Or just sit around the spacious kitchen island enjoying an espresso or a bowl of Ben & Jerry's.
The Green River Bridge Inn is no Hampton Inn. We're pretty far out in the country, about 20" drive to the closest Burger King or Dunkin'. We're managed by a little team that does our utmost to ensure a guest experience to the highest standards.
Included in the rental is on-site support staff, including a chef for delicious meals and housekeeping support.
In a new listing on VRBO or any platform, we are offering rental of the entire inn for family occasions, retreats, getaways, corporate events, art workshops, religious groups, any small band of travelers needing a luxurious home for a weekend, weeklong stay or monthly rental.

Cozy, colorful rooms with comfortable, well-loved furnishings. The room is a bedroom on the 2nd floor, as is the other ABnB room (2 twin beds), and a personal bedroom. The house is a shared space. Quiet hours: 10 pm to 7 am.
In winter, there are inner storm windows and we heat primarily with a pellet furnace & forced hot air.
In summer, we use window fans & window a/c in all bedrooms, the upstairs hallway & the living room plus a ceiling fan to keep us cooler but not cold.
I am semi-retired and work from my home office as a reiki practitioner (since 1988). I love my wildflower & vegetable gardens as well as canoeing, walking & my grandson.
I can recommend restaurants and places to explore. Just ask!

Downtown is a 20-min walk down towards the river (so steady but not steep uphill on the way home). Parking downtown on streets or several close-by lots & a parking garage.
Parking at house is on the street April-November; off-street November-April. May need to do some car shuffling in winter but not usually an issue.
During your stay
I tend to let my guests do their own thing! I am available for info, directions, and recommendations. I enjoy getting acquainted when that’s mutual and give my guests their privacy.

Retreat in Mahalo's beautiful, private sound healing temple surrounded by nature, amongst streams, berry bushes, fruit & nut trees, medicinal plants and veggie gardens. We are set back just enough from a main road to find your serenity and yet close enough to civilization for human interaction and trails for hiking.
Quiet and peaceful location just a few min off I-91 and just over 2 miles from the center of Brattleboro. A fun and quirky town with art cafes, restaurants, and great shops.
The space
This is a 22 foot wide octagonal shaped building with a cathedral ceiling designed to enhance sounds and vibrations created within the space. It is not a yurt but a full building with plumbing, insulation, AC, and heat pump wall unit. In winter, you are welcome to use the wood stove. We can get the fire started for you before your arrival if youd like.
Rest deeply on the comfy futon, 2 are available in the space. Also 2 other floor mats are available for extra guests.
We provide pillows, blankets, and sheets for you to cozy up your bed.
In the wooden chests, we have extra blankets and some pillows for you to use.
You can find bath and other extra towels in the hallway closet.
Basic toiletries are included.
Guest access
The entire space is yours for the duration of your stay.
You will pull into our gravel driveway at 968 Western Ave (also RT 9). [Don't follow directions to Ivy lane if GPS tries to bring you there]. Keep an eye out for the Jeremiah Beal House sign which is right next door.
You will park where you see the sign that says Parking Airbnb at the top left of driveway.
Other things to note
Do NOT follow GPS once on Western Ave. Just look for the 968/972 mailbox.
Tuesdays from 11-4 the space is sometimes used for a local event. If you book through a Tuesday we will remind you this is a possibility. If the space is needed we will inform you ahead of time and it will be like you are checking out and then back in again without paying an additional cleaning fee.

Recently renovated 1 bedroom timber frame tucked away in the rolling hills of southern VT. Dedicated desk, cozy bed, and cute kitchenette make this the perfect place for a few days of remote work or to get away for a quiet weekend in the woods. Hiking trails and berry picking (seasonal) right out the front door, and an easy 10 min drive to downtown for a beer on the river...enjoy!
The space
This is a single room within a larger timber frame workshop located on a dirt road in the outskirts of Brattleboro. The property is a revitalized homestead with gardens, fruit trees, berry bushes, and a stream flowing through the property. The interior is about 12' by 24' with full size bed, mini woodstove, desk & kitchenette. My home is in a completely separate building across the steam a few hundred yards away, but we'll share the driveway and you'll likely see me and my dogs puttering around doing chores.
NOTE: Shower and toilet are OUTDOORS (see photos). The shower is available for use when it stays above freezing at night (usually March - October). The composting toilet uses a bucket/wood-shaving system and is located in a mini wooden yurt. If this is not your jam, sorry, probably not the place for you :)
Guest access
You will have access to the room you are renting as well as the porch on the opposite side of the building (great place to catch the afternoon light!). You are welcome to explore the upper fields, pick berries (when in season) and play in the stream. I just ask that you please stay out of the workshop, and don't venture past the stream toward my house/yurt. Thanks!
Other things to note
I have 2 dogs who LOVE people and will likely find you at some point outside during your stay. If you would not like to be approached by them, please let me know ahead of time and we can hopefully figure something out.
Cozy one bedroom cottage with kitchen overlooking a forest meadow. Walking paths along a lovely brook. Owner lives in a separate residence 100 feet up the hill and may be seen outside in the meadow, garden or shared driveway. There is a pull out queen sofa bed in the living room in addition to the queen bed in the bedroom, although the cottage is most comfortable for 1 or 2 guests.
The space
Beech Cottage, named for the Beech trees along the path, is a small 465 square foot guest house that feels airy with high ceilings and lots of windows looking out to the meadows and forest. Built in 2019, it has newer appliances including a Bosch gas stove. There is a whisper quiet Panasonic heat pump that provides warmth in winter and a cool space in summer. A backup propane heater is there for use in power outages. Water is potable.
Guest access
The cottage and front deck is all yours! There is also a small back deck looking out to the trees and large boulder beside an old rock wall. Walk through the meadow to a path beside the brook at the edge of the forest. Listen to the sound of water moving over rocks.
Other things to note
I-91 is half a mile away as the raven flies, and at some times distant freeway noise can be heard.
Coffee, tea and sugar are provided. Drip coffee maker, single cup Melita, or French press. Dark roast coffee. Earl Grey Stash and Tazo teas among some other choices. Bring your own creamer. Olive oil and grape seed oil for cooking.
The Wifi is high speed through Starlink, although storms can impact the signal. Cellular service is decent and sufficient for a call but wifi calling may be better.
From Beech Cottage you can see a corner of the main house where I live, up the hill 100 feet. I respect guests' privacy, but you may see me around the property. I am friendly and sociable, but respectful of your privacy!
The dark skies allow nighttime star gazing, so please shut off exterior lights by 10 pm to preserve the view for all to enjoy. In the summer there have been hundreds of fireflies in the meadow.
The EV Charger is free to use. It is a J1772 but there is a Tesla adapter available if needed.
30 solar panels provide renewable energy to the home and to the electrical grid.
There is a much sought after dog boarding service (The Dog House at Working K9 Services) up the road a quarter mile which gets very good reviews.

Our spacious, tranquil, light-filled Barn Loft is thoughtfully and creatively designed. Complete with a living area, sleeping alcove, flat-screen TV, full kitchen, dining area, and large bathroom with a deluxe shower. A private deck with seating that looks out into our lovely Vermont woods and verdant gardens is attached to the loft. Stay a night or a week, there is plenty to do in every season. We are a friendly, welcoming, worldly, family. We look forward to hosting you at our country home.
The space
The main old farmhouse where our family lives was built in the 1820's, and the Barn Loft is in the renovated old barn adjacent to the farmhouse.
The Barn Loft has a queen size bed.
The kitchen is fully equipped and ready to use. If you find yourself needing something you don't have, please don't hesitate to come next door and ask us. We are very happy to help in any way.
The outside shower has a privacy screen, and it is shared by our family and our guests. It's very enjoyable whatever the weather.
The deck beside the loft is exclusive to our Barn Loft guests, and the stone patio down at ground level, as well as the rest of the grounds, are communal spaces.
VT Meals and Rooms Tax ID: MRT-10126712
Guest access
Guests have access to parking, a private entrance to the loft, a private full kitchen and bath, a private deck, a stone patio, a secluded, shared outdoor shower with hot water, beautiful gardens, hammocks and a swing with lovely views, a four-season brook, and over 50 acres of marked trails for hiking or snowshoeing. Please be aware that access to the Barn Loft is up a flight of narrow stone steps without a handrail, then up a second set of sturdy wooden steps with a handrail. When there is snow on the ground, guests enter through the garage. The steps can be avoided by walking across the lawn.
Other things to note
We have lovely gardens and lawn surrounding the houses; please feel free to enjoy them. Drag a chair into the sun or find the hammock zone up the hill in the shade of the massive oaks. Wherever you choose to relax, it's impossible to escape the soothing sound of Halladay Brook, across the road from our house, but still on our property. At night, hang out on the deck and gaze at the plentiful stars, or let Halladay Brook lull you into some of the deepest slumbers you'll ever have.
TV
There is a large flat-screen tv where you can watch a number of Roku channels. You can log into your personal Netflix, Amazon or HBO accounts via Roku. We do not have cable.
CLOTHING
This is country living, so although the interior amenities are top notch, bring season-appropriate clothing to maximize your enjoyment of the outdoors if you plan to spend any time outside. That means warm undergarments, snow-proof outerwear, and snow boots in winter and early spring. Tennis shoes or lightweight hiking shoes or boots are advisable for walking in the woods. A slip-on pair of rain boots are ideal for both kids and adults in Spring, Summer, and Fall, as the grass can be wet. Flip flops are a good call if it's warm out.
FIRST AID AND EMERGENCIES
There is bug repellant in the bathroom vanity cabinet.
The Barn Loft has a first aid kit under the sink in the bathroom; please don't hesitate to ask us for anything else you may need.
For your safety, the Barn Loft is equipped with a fire extinguisher in the kitchen, and an emergency escape ladder (tucked under the bed) in the case of an emergency evacuation.
If you do not have cell service or can use WiFi calling, please use our landline next door to dial 911.
