Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. A classic Vermont camp-style cottage, with two comfy beds (one bedroom and one standing-height loft), and plenty of space to relax and enjoy nature from inside the vaulted living room or outside on the back patio.
Take a break from life and enjoy all beautiful Brattleboro has to offer. We are just a short 7-minute drive to downtown Brattleboro.
About our space:
A cozy cottage with two rooms and a loft, plus a bathroom and outdoor space. The main living room boasts 16-foot ceilings and is the perfect place to curl up on the couch with a good book or enjoy an afternoon of puzzles and board games with the whole family. The main bedroom has a queen-sized bed and access to the back patio (please note this bedroom does not have a door). There is also a bonus loft (up a ladder) with a full-size bed and a big window overlooking an old picturesque field and barn. Should you need more beds or prefer to stay on the main level the couch also pulls out into a comfy full-size bed. Fresh linens are provided for both beds, we make the downstairs bed and provided sheets folded in a basket at the foot of the loft bed should you choose to use both.
There is a half bath inside and an outdoor shower outside (with hot water). By the back patio, there is a grill for cookouts which also has a burner for those tasty morning pancakes.
Please note, during the main season the cabin is not heated (though it is very well insulated and always stays a pleasant temperature.) . The wood pellet stove you can see in some photos is only installed in the winter months.
Guest access:
You will have the cottage all to yourself. We are set back about a quarter mile from the road so you can enjoy plenty of privacy while still being close to downtown.
We live in the main house further up the driveway, but we'll stay out of your way unless you reach out with any questions or requests.
Other things to note...
The property is set on just over ten acres of forest, we do have two very friendly dogs who you will see us walking down the driveway from time to time. We are up the hill on the same driveway but other than us there are no visible neighbors.
- "This stay meant a lot to me, since I recently finished battling cancer. I was looking for a nice getaway, and time away from the hospital. I took my boyfriend along, who also really needed a getaway from working long hours as well. Overall, cute little cabin with the basics. My ONLY critiques would be to make it so the outdoor shower is not facing the driveway leading up to the house, and if there’s a way to put in a fire pit, I think that would be awesome! Privacy was also respected during the duration of the stay which is much appreciated! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely place! On a side note, a really good restaurant we went to was called The Marina, which was just a 10 minute drive from the cabin. Blazin’ food!"

Guilford Grove Cottage is a simple, comfortable small cottage on the threshold of the forest. A quiet and clean refuge with everything you need to relax in scenic southern Vermont. Prepare meals in the kitchen (breakfast supplies provided), relax on the loveseat, chill on the covered porch and enjoy being on the edge of nature; shoe-free and free from chemicals and artificial fragrances. Brand new construction. Easy access from I-91 & Route 2, 15 mins from Brattleboro and 20 to Greenfield, MA
The space
The cottage sits up on a small hill about 200 feet from our house and is surrounded by yard and trees. It's a new construction (finished in spring 2023). There is a ample natural light throughout the day, especially nice in the morning as the windows are facing east and south. We keep the space free of shoes, so it feels fresh and clean. Pretty much everything inside is new, with the exception of some antique wall hangings and artwork.
The kitchen is stocked with tea and coffee supplies, fresh organic milk, butter, instant oatmeal, English muffins and farm fresh eggs from Franklin Family Farm up the road. The cabinets have been custom built for the space. Inside you’ll find pots and pans, hot water kettle and most everything you need to prepare basic meals.
The bathroom is tiled and pristine with a ceramic bathtub. There is a loft overhead (not accessible to guests) which is mostly empty and used to store items and the hot water heater, these are tucked behind a privacy screen. Our yard and parking area are visible from the cabin, we keep it tidy and have gardens and plants around.
Guest access
The cabin is yours for the duration of the stay. There is a place to park your vehicle at the base of the small hill (about 40 feet away) and motion-activated lighting along the path at night. The cabin has a loft which is not accessible to guests.
Other things to note
Behind the cabin is the neighbor's backyard. They are quiet and considerate, but occasionally use a riding mower to mow the lawn. The cabin and our house share the same driveway.
ATTN for bookings after Dec 1:
We have a steep driveway. We clear the snow ourselves using a snow blower as it’s too steep for a plow. As a result, if there is snow during your stay, we will try our best to clear the snow in time for your seamless arrival/departure but it may be delayed slightly. If your vehicle is unable to make it up the driveway after clearing, you may need to park in one of the lower parking spots and walk up a short distance to the cabin.

The "Rustic" cottage is furnished with a queen bed, sofa and dining table. There is a small deck with patio furniture, fire ring with wood supplied, and a gas barbecue. It can accommodate 2 people comfortably. Private with parking. Host in separate house. Wi Fi from Xfinity, but please note that it can be patchy. Roku TV WI FI connected to router.
The space
The cabin is not totally isolated but lies between host's adjacent home and a neighbor's house which is some 300 yds away. It is approximately 2 1/2 miles from the center of Brattleboro. Accommodates two comfortably with a log cabin style Queen bed. All bedding is laundered fresh for each guest. Paper products are supplied and there is a hair dryer in the bathroom. The Cottage has TV connection thru a ROKU device with numerous apps. There is also a DVD player. The Hi-speed internet is provided by Xfinity and has wireless connection through a range extender. Access details are in a folder in the cottage.
We are essentially a 'hands off' listing, and especially so gien our current Covid19 crises. You will have all the privacy or interaction you want, coupled with immediate personal contact by phone or internet if you need it. This listing is essentially a no need to meet check in or out. We have developed this Airbnb basically as a no interference hands off rental, unless of course you need something or if anything is problematic. You can always call the numbers on the bottom of the welcome letter for anything you need. We believe this offers you maximum privacy to come and go as you please. No need to check in or out unless you have special arrival or departure times.
Some additional points to note: The interconnecting doors are low, so for the height challenged you will need to duck. The fridge is rather small, 3 X 2? and the cottage is, as described, small and cosy. Cell tower phone access is patchy, dependent upon your carrier and not guaranteed.
Guest access
The kitchen has a small two burner stove top a toaster, coffee maker, small dormitory sized fridge, pots pans, utensils, and other necessary kitchen items. Additionally there is a gas fired grill on the patio/deck. There is also a stone ringed fire pit with wood provided. Coffee and tea in cupboard above counter top.
Other things to note
Upon arrival enter driveway with mailbox # 850 on your right, the Cottage is visible from road. See listing photos for views from road. Please do not park on grass in winter. Park at left space of two marked by wooden parking lot stops clearly marked Cottage..
Please do not park in driveway in front of big red barn. Thanks.
