Super nice people, and they care a lot about keeping the property looking like new (2024 renovation). They set up a fire in the nice fire pit behind the house, which we used at night. The back yard was a huge slope of freshly mowed grass dotted with sitting areas and leading to a small dock on the north branch of the Ausable river. We used the kayaks on the property for lovely morning paddles in calm water. We stored our bikes in the shed and used them on the Lake Placid-Saranac rail trail as well as the Ironman route which follows nearby Rte 86. Check out the Barkeater Alliance for info on nearby mountain biking (Hardy Trails) and All Trails for hiking. Hungry Trout restaurant. Hosts ban smoking and vaping from the entire property, including the yard. Well equipped kitchen! We hope to return."

Black Pearl - Unit 2 has two bedrooms and can sleep 4 guests. With 1 King Size Bedroom, and 1 room with Bunk Beds, you will find room for your group to spread out. Our bedrooms feature Casper Mattresses, quality linens, and are thoughtfully decorated. The king bedroom has a spacious closet with shelving, while the bunk bed room has a dresser so you can comfortably unpack for your stay . Each room has its own climate control so that guests can adjust to their individual preference.

The Kitchen
The Kitchen is equipped with all new appliances and finishes as well as cooking utensils, pots and pans, general spices, and basically all the tools you need to make morning pancakes, spaghetti bolognese dinner, and everything in between. (Groceries not provided.) For morning coffee, there is a coffee machine (with coffee provided), but please also feel free to bring along your favorite roast. You will find all the dish ware, serve ware, and drink ware you need for your group to dine, but don’t worry, we have you covered with a dishwasher too.

Bathrooms
There is one bathroom in Black Pearl - Unit 2, a full bathroom with a combination shower/tub. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries, a hair dryer, and super plush towels. Also in-unit is a washer and dryer for your use.

Guest Access:
The entire unit is yours for the length of your stay. Please note that the parking area is right off the road and you need to walk down stairs to access the unit.

The Neighborhood:
Nestled on the South side of Whiteface Mountain, the house is a quick 15 min drive to the Whiteface Mountain ski slopes, 10 min walk/2 min drive to Mirror Lake, and 10 min walk to Lake Placid Village. The location is perfect for winter skiing, sledding, and snowboarding. In the fall, hike below the beautiful foliage, and in the spring/summer be sure to check out Mirror Lake, more hiking, antiquing, and local farms & vineyards.

There are a handful of markets nearby, including a supermarket as well as a couple of wine & liquor stores for your convenience. This house is so well located that you will find great Food & Drink options moments away, including Generations, ‘Dack Shack, Ere’s Pizza Ristorante, Redneck Bistro, Simply Gourmet Bakery, Kanu, Cocoa & Dough Co Great Adirondack Brewing Company, and so much more.

If you are looking for the great outdoors, there’s something for everyone - year round. A quick 15 min drive gets you to the base of Whiteface Mountain, the fifth-highest mountain in the U.S. state of New York, and one of the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Set apart from most of the other High Peaks, the summit offers a 360-degree view of the Adirondacks and clear-day glimpses of Vermont and even Canada. Whiteface's ski area boasts 90 trails stretching over 25 miles and encompassing three peaks. In the summer months, enjoy the Adirondack High Peaks from the comfort of an eight-passenger, high-speed gondola cabin, on the Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride. You can also hike a variety of trails of every level to explore the mountain, which is particularly amazing in the fall months as the leaves are turning colors.

During the warmer months, you can zip over to Mirror Lake, just 5 minutes away by car. Enjoy a 2.7 mile stroll (or run!) around Mirror Lake in the center of Lake Placid. This is a flat, scenic loop that's perfect for as many laps as you like. Or canoe, kayak, stand up paddleboard, or aqua bike across this gorgeous 128-acre, one-mile long lake. Lake Placid Public Beach a summer dream come true. Its sandy beach has a pier and a launch site for canoes or kayaks, there's a changing facility, tennis courts, and even a playground for the kiddos.

CHECK OUT
Our check-out time is at 11:00 AM. Please make sure to do the dishes (it’s ok to place the remaining dishes in the dishwasher and start the cycle), take the trash out and close the door before leaving. Don’t forget to do a final walk thru of the house to make sure you haven’t left behind any personal items.

RECYCLING
Guests can leave the recycling items on a separate bag in the house. Cleaning team will take care of it after guests leave.

FRIENDS OF MOTHER NATURE
Please note that we are located in the countryside, surrounded by trees and foliage. Although we have regularly scheduled pest control services in and around the home and yard, you are still likely to see a few insects or other living beings from Mother Nature. We ask that you do your best to keep outside doors closed as much as possible to limit the amount of outdoor creatures from sneaking in.

PETS
We love pets and allow them in our houses, but please let us know if your are bringing your furry friend(s) along. Please understand that all of our furniture and decor is new and pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds. You will be responsible for any visible wear or damage your pets may cause. The maximum number of pets we allow is two.

REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
We cannot guarantee against mechanical failure of heating, air conditioning, appliances, TVs/media equipment, stereo equipment or pools/spas. Please report any inoperative equipment to us promptly. We will make every reasonable effort to have repairs done quickly and efficiently. If you demonstrate that the problem persists after being given phone instructions by our team, a maintenance service professional may be dispatched. NO REFUNDS OR RENT REDUCTIONS WILL BE MADE DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS, INTERRUPTIONS OF UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE PROBLEMS OR CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREA. WHILE LINA WILL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO REPAIR ANY MAINTENANCE ISSUE IN A TIMELY MANNER, IT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE WILL BE FIXED DURING A GUEST STAY, AS THE COMPANY MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH HOME WARRANTIES. Our property is a studio apartment within a building that we own and manage. It is a quiet community of adults only, who live work and play in the Lake Placid / Saranac Lake community. Our studio is clean and comfortable, and offers these amenities: Fully stocked kitchen, 2 person eating table, plush queen bed, Roku or streaming wifi TV, Free Wifi, bath towels, linens, pillows and blankets. There is a pay-laundry facility at the lower level. We provide parking without charge. There is a parking space that we have dedicated to our AirBnb guests, just outside the front entrance of the building (see check-in details); only one step is required, at the front door, to enter the building and the apartment. If snow or other obstacles provide a challenge to that spot, we have virtually unlimited parking below and outside our common entrance into the Laundry room at the basement level, with stairs to the first floor (Suite 7 is located here). We have on-site management and maintenance if any concerns should rise. a However, we do not offer hotel amenities such as front-desk, pool, fitness room, bar or on -site food service, etc. We are in walking distance to stores and convenience shops. The new Adirondack Rail Trail is located just below the property, easily accessible, and offers travelers exceptional hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, mountain biking. the trail runs from Lake Placid to Tupper Lake.

Parking at our building is on-site and free of charge. We have dedicated a space to our AirBnb guests, at the front left corner of the building, very close to the main entrance. There is a professional sign that indicates "Reserved for Suite 7" on the corner of the building (please see check in details). The area is walkable, with access to convenience stores and restaurants. Lake Flower is 4/10 of a mile by foot or car. There is a former railroad line that has just been converted into a multi-use rail trail, located just to the East of the property.

Other things to note
We are proud to offer excepationally value-priced accommodations for short or longer term stays. We are clean and comfy, and offer a quiet community to enjoy a part of during your stay. We do not allow parties or groups larger than 2 persons, and no visitors will be admitted to the building. Guests must acknowledge that : 1) this is a studio apartment and that studio apartments by definition are one room and a bath. they are not large. this is not large. it is a studio apartment. please expert what you see in the pictures, which clearly shows the space. those renting a studio apartment should not expect something larger. If a one room studio is too small we can help you locate a multi room suite cabin or home rental that better fits your needs. 2) that there are multiple units in the building and that quiet yours are 10pm to 9am, and that respectful noise or activity levels are expected at all times, regardless of day or night. a couple of guests have mentioned on occasion hearing the sound of a toilet flushing from the unit above. this is not uncommon in older buildings with older plumbing. if this is true even though we haven't been able to catch the sound personally, this shouldn't overwhelmingly disturb your stay. we just want to warn you in case you have an aversion to the sound of water coming down a pipe on occasion. We are able to offer our inexpensive pricing becuase we are not a hotel or resort. Please note the amenities list presented in this listing. There are pay laundry machines in the basement level, they do require to download an app to operate- the company that operates them requires a $10 minimum pay in to the app to use them, we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cuase those on shorter term stays, however, they have not offered us a solution suitable for one-time users. Split Rock is a brand new 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath apartment in the desirable Hillcrest neighborhood in Lake Placid. The space
Built in 1911, the house has been beautifully maintained and recently renovated. The unit is a self-contained 1,000+ square foot upstairs apartment. It includes 2 bedrooms featuring comfy hybrid mattresses, a living room, eat-in kitchen and one bathroom with a deep tub and shower. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, blender and toaster, and is furnished with pots, pans, chef's knives, dishware and basic spices for cooking. The entrance is through the second-floor enclosed porch, which provides a great place to relax and catch a lake breeze. Bedding and towels are provided as well as Internet TV and Netflix access. There is off-street parking for up to two vehicles (or one with a trailer). Please be aware that my home is not handicap accessible. There are three stairs coming in and one flight of stairs to the guest quarters.

We respect our guests' personal space and privacy. However, if there's something you need, just ask! This includes things like shuttles to and from the airport or recommendations for hikes, paddles or food and cocktails. We are happy to help.

Please note that our cleaning fee is nominal. My fiancé and I are extremely particular and do all the cleaning ourselves, which also saves you money. We do ask that guests wipe down kitchen surfaces and strip their beds before they leave though. The unit is not baby/child proofed, so we can only host school-aged children. I'm sorry, but due to past damages, pets are no longer accepted unless you are a returning guest and ask our permission in advance. We still LOVE dogs but presently have no pets ourselves.

Spend the night in one of Saranac Lake's original cure cottages. The Jennings Cottage is a cozy bugalow-style home built in 1897, and centrally located in downtown Saranac Lake. Located steps to the rail trail, minutes from Dewey and Pisgah, and 10 miles from the Olympic Village of Lake Placid.  

The space
Our 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom railroad-style apartment comfortably sleeps 4 people. The apartment has a fully-equipped kitchen, wifi, Netflix, and a charming view of the historic Hotel Saranac.

The cottage is located on the 3rd floor and features a private staircase and entrance for guests. On the entrance landing, you'll find storage for your coats, shoes, and other belongings. Relax in a comfortable living room with wif-fi, Netflix, reading books, art supplies, and board games. Enjoy our fully-equipped kitchen with complimentary coffee, tea, hot coco, and sweets. Bedrooms:
The bedrooms are railroad-style and connect through a set of french doors. The first bedroom has 2 twin beds and the second bedroom has a queen-sized Tempur Pedic mattress. Luggage racks are available for your suitcases. Additional storage is located on the 2nd and 3rd floor landings.

Location:
We are walking distance to everything downtown Saranac Lake has to offer: Lake Flower, restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, a grocery store, a health food store, a weekly farmers market, bars, breweries, retail and gift shops. We are steps from the Adirondack Carousel and playground. The entrance to the Adirondack Rail Trail is located on our street for easy access to hiking, biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.

Parking:
One (1) off-street parking spot is available to our guests. On-street parking is not possible overnight during the winter, however, it's permitted in all other seasons.

Stairs:
The apartment is located on the third floor. There are three flights of stairs: 2 exterior and 1 interior flight.

Music & Instruments:
The Jennings Cottage is located on the top floor of a busy family home (of budding musicians). Although we are always mindful of our guests, it's very likely that you will hear instruments being practiced during your stay like: drums, electric bass, piano or guitar. Music lessons can sometimes take place as early as 9:00am. It's also possible that you'll be staying with us when we are hosting band practice at the house (which wraps up at 9:30pm).

Children and Pets:
The cottage is suitable for adults and children over the age of five. Children under the age of five are not permitted at this booking due to safety concerns.

Dogs/pets are not permitted in the cottage.

You will have full access to the third-story apartment. There are 3 flights of stairs: 2 exterior flights, 1 interior flight. There is a small private deck with chairs and a grill for your use.

Housework:
We recently purchased this historic home and we spend a lot of time working on the house. While you are staying with us (during work hours 8am-5pm) you may hear work being performed on the house.

We have two dogs. They are very good girls though they will bark on occasion. The apartment is well-insulated with thick carpet padding, and an additional set of french doors to close off the apartment from the living room. It's very cozy, however, you may hear the sounds of family life below.

Sugar House Creamery is a farmstead creamery in the high peaks region of the Adirondack mountains. Dairy farms are few and far between in this part of the world so the sight of our Brown Swiss making their way back to the barn for milking is especially special.

The space is a newly renovated studio-style apartment located in the loft of the old carriage barn on our farm. The interior is fresh and new with a charming, vintage decor.

Features a private balcony that overlooks the pastures and the distant Sentinel Mountain range, a turntable with a record collection complied by DJ Old Sam, and a Jotul stove for chilly nights.

A short walk (22-25 ft.) from the Carriage Barn is our Farm Store where we sell our farmstead cheese and raw milk along with fresh products from neighboring farms (yogurt, eggs, meats and more!).

This is an active dairy farm complete with accompanying sights, smells. and sounds.

The space
My space is a one bedroom ground level apartment with a private porch entrance with a few ascending stairs. You will have the luxury of your own small private yard and porch to use during the duration of your stay. Free street parking is available during the summer months and until 2am in the winter months. There is a parking lot across the street to allow for overflow street parking that we were granted permission to park in if street parking is not available or to utilize after 2am in the winter months. My home is fully stocked including linens, towels, shower toiletries, wifi, coffee maker and coffee!

You will enter the apartment to the left of the house down a pathway leading to your own private porch entrance. From there you will have a few steps onto the porch to be able to enter the unit. The door leads into the kitchen area. The kitchen is fully stocked with a refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, sink, coffee maker, toaster oven, glasses, silverware, plates and bowls, pots and pans and other household kitchen gadgets. As you walk through the kitchen there is a peninsula with bar stool seating along with a dining room table. This room has a decorative fireplace to add to the historical charm of the house.

The one bedroom is to the left of the kitchen and has a queen sized bed. There is a generous sized closet to store luggage or clothing and a screened in porch with a small sitting area that you may use during the duration of your stay.

The Living Room is to the right of the kitchen/dining area and consists of two couches (one that is a pull out sleeper sofa), TV, dedicated work space desk, and a decorative fireplace. The sleeper sofa pulls out into a queen sized bed, big enough for two people to enjoy comfortably.

There is one bathroom in this apartment. It is complete with a toilet, sink, storage, and a tub shower combo with a sliding glass door. Complimentary toiletries will be available.

This is a second floor apartment with private entry and off street parking. Has full kitchen with gas stove,microwave,toaster,coffee maker,plates,silverware,pot and pans. Hardwood and tile floors in living areas, carpeting in bedrooms. Living room does have a TV with cable and access to Netflix. On property is also a restaurant serving breakfast/lunch and a store.

The space
Located on the property is the Poor Mans Downhill trail head (aka the PMD ) It is a multi use trail (hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling) which connects to many other local trails.

There is one bedroom with a King sized bed (new mattress in July 2020). I have 100%cotton sheets for your comfort as well. There is a full sized bathroom with tub and shower.There is not a full kitchen in the space.The breakfast nook includes Keurig coffee maker, microwave oven, toaster and small dorm sized frig. I will provide seasonal fresh fruits, bagels, oatmeal, half and half and orange juice for your breakfast needs. You might even enjoy some fresh baked muffins! There is parking available for 2 cars.
