The bistro table set on the deck made relaxing outside that much more enjoyable. Even though the weather wasn’t great during our stay we still enjoyed the hot tub which was a big selling point for us and overall had a wonderful stay. Even though the temperatures were below zero the cabin stayed toasty warm. We loved visiting the ice castle and carnival events in Saranac Lake ,5 minutes drive. Also fantastic restaurants in Saranac. Drove over to Lake Placid ,25 min and snowshoed at Heaven Hills with the dog. Our favorite was xc skiing at the VIC at Paul Smiths. This cabin was a perfect location to easily visit all the winter fun in the area. It was so clean, the kitchen is well equipped and the bed comfortable. We loved it! Thanks we hope to come back in the summer or fall."

The cabin is not on the water but guests have full access to Kiwassa Lake, just 75' away. Kiwassa Lake is part of the Saranac Chain of Lakes which means guests have access to 23 miles of waterways from Kiwassa Lake.

Guests will enjoy access to Kiwassa Lake with dock space for a boat or canoe as needed. The cabin also offers a wraparound deck with picnic table and charcoal grill.

The property is part of Cochrans Cabins which is nestled on over twenty wooded acres at the end of the road, on the waters edge of Lake Kiwassa within the Saranac Chain of Lakes. Within 10 miles is the Olympic Village of Lake Placid. Also in the area is hiking, boating, fishing, skiing, etc.

There is a maximum of one pet 30 pounds or less and all pets must be accounted for in advance, at the time the reservation is made. It is unacceptable to arrive without previous permission and reservation for a pet. You must read and agree to pet policy.

We are a small family business simply trying to navigate what the new normal is while also trying to maintain the health of our guests and ourselves. We expect that our guests have taken great care and precaution, as we have, to self-quarantine and social distance. We know the Adirondacks is beloved to many which is why we’re opening our doors in a limited way. We will welcome guests who have self-quarantined prior to arrival for 14 days and who are feeling well and healthy. We expect our guests to be honest - that they have not come into contact with anyone that has had active COVID-19. Our cabins host 8 or fewer people. Only one cabin will be rented to each party. We will disallow congregating in groups of more than 10. This restriction may ease later in the summer. If you do not feel you can meet these expectations, please cancel your reservation.

Yes, many restaurants are doing take-out in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.Guests should not expect a normal dining experience but should instead enjoy the tranquility of our cabin and property. Most shops are operating at reduced capacity, though and require a face covering.

The Waterways
From the property you are able to travel by boat, to the Village of Saranac Lake. You may also enjoy a waterway trip 40 miles through scenic Adirondack lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, and go through State locks into the Adirondack State Preserve. Adirondack lake stream fishing for trout, bass, perch, northern pike, whitefish and panfish is available as well.

The Other Stuff
Not far away are the Adirondack Mountain attractions such as Whiteface Mountain and chairlift, the North Pole, Great Escape Adventure Park, Ausable Chasm, Adirondack Museum, the Olympic Center and the Lake Placid Village, Six Nations Indian Museum and the N.Y. State Fish Hatchery.

The space:
Cabin #2 has a full kitchen with dining table & chairs. It has a love seat in the living room and a full size bed in the bedroom. There is a single size air mattress in the closet for a 3rd person, if desired. There is a vintage stand up shower in the bathroom. The cabin is heated and cooled by a brand new, whipser quiet clean ductless mini-split system as well as a gas heater for cold winter nights. 32" TV in the living area and a dedicated wifi-access point in the cabin provides excellent signal.

We are a family business that takes pride in our property. We keep our cabins CLEAN and well maintained. We are only 5 minutes in either direction from Lake Placid and Saranac lake. We are right off highway 86 but our property is quiet and peaceful.

Guest access:
We have free Wifi throughout the property with an access point in each cabin. Each cabin has a charcoal or gas grill , Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, fire pits , corn hole games and horseshoes all free for our guests to use. We sell firewood on the property as well. Parking is outside each cabin. There is a convenience store/ gas station out by the main road that carries groceries, sandwiches, beer, ice , etc.

History of the Property:
Moreno's cottages was founded by Tessie and Tony Moreno in1923. Uncle Tony built this property by hand over the years and Aunt Tessie ran the business with discipline and hard work. The Drake family, with 4 children, is the newest owner of this historic vacation destination. Todd & Leigh work constantly to make changes or additions to the property to make our guests' stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

We are available by phone or in person to assist our guests. Check in procedure is super easy! Proceed directly to your cabin and utilize a smart lock PIN code to enter.

Camp Victor, a rustic waterfront Adirondack cabin vacation rental, overlooks Kiwassa Lake. This cabin is available for weekly rental in the summer, and nightly in the spring, fall & winter. Are area restaurants and shops open? Yes, many restaurants are doing take-out in Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.Guests should not expect a normal dining experience but should instead enjoy the tranquility of our cabin and property. Most shops are operating at reduced capacity, though and require a face covering.

- "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is conveniently located between the high peaks for hiking and the Saranac chain of lakes for paddling. Nice fenced in yard to play with the pup and rail trail close by for runs and walks. Everything was clean and well kept at the house. It was nice having a full kitchen to make our own meals, a good roof over us during the rainstorms and A/C when it was hot. We will keep this house in mind next time we head to the Saranac-Placid area!"
